RE: OSIMHEN-LOOKMAN ALTERCATION IN NIGERIA VS MOZAMBIQUE MATCH Osimhen was wrong for shouting at Lookman. Full stop. That moment versus Mozambique was unnecessary and avoidable. Osimhen was Disrespectful Childish Petulant Immature Unprofessional Ill-mannered Undisciplined And to say I am disappointed in him will be an understatement. I mean, at that point we were already three goals up and Lookman had assisted him to score his brace so there was absolutely no need for that confrontation. No be by force to score hat-trick, and if it's about the Yekini record, there's ample time to break that in this competition and the 2027 AFCON qualifiers. Osimhen is regarded as one of the leaders of the team, and part of what leaders do is to absorb frustration and keep calm in the interest of the collective. A leader does not throw tantrums. Neither do they explode on the pitch and dress down a team mate publicly. Osimhen plays with passion and fire. I get it and love that about him. But fire without control inhibits team cohesion. We just got to the business end of the AFCON with our pending Q/final clash against Algeria/DR Congo, and the team needs unity, not ego clashes. We cannot afford to feed our opponents confidence with our body language. Osimhen owes the team and Nigerians an apology.Passion no be license for nonsense. He should exercise restraint and better emotional control because team unity is non-negotiable. Anything else is self-sabotage. I rest my fingers. |

We can all agreed that Eric chelle is one of the best coach for super eagles, if he win the afcon or not, he has proved that's technically sound. |

Kog45:Oga, I know football and Lookman is SELFISH!!! Let's not play ostrich and pretend we can sweep his misgivings under carpet just because of AFCON showing. He needs this for his career, Simple. it wasnt too long ago when we couldn't qualify for world cup and we know just how Lookman got bashed for his selfishness. Quarter finals are here, we will also be here. Caveat: Not saying he (Lookman) hasn't been stellar this Afcon. He has been explosive and dropping good performance |

Nna ehn make dem drop this Osimhen abeg. If we lose, we lose. His attitude stinks. Such an ass always disrespecting his team mates when they make a mistake, yet his team mates don't disrespect him when he can't do something as simple as beating an offside trap. Dude should go to hell abeg The NFF really messed up not sanctioning when he disrespected Finidi. |

kennysville:Thank you Lookman needs some part of the blame, but because of his gentle nature he keeps getting away with some of his antics, I remember on this thread when Boniface was struggling to fit into the eagles, Lookman name came up and I mentioned here that Boniface and Lookman need enter a room lock themselves up and talk. Many folks were laughing on this thread. We can see how frustrated Akor was against Tunisia after Lookman scored. Osihmen will burst out in anger but Lookman may be silently sowing discord in that team despite all the good works he’s doing. After all during wcq many were already suggesting too he should be benched in fact many were saying if Lookman played against Benin we won’t have scored those four goals. The team is doing well but every player who is not living up to expectations in terms of character must be called out and not just focus on a particular player. After all both osihmen and Lookman are now on 3 goals. But we all need to stop like safari said earlier over dramatising all the players atitude all the time. Let the coach or nff iron this out and if they want to froze any player out of the team so let it be. |

Osimhen has totally lost his fans from Nigeria. Dude should pray he never gets into any troubles with his club the way he did with Napoli, otherwise no fan is coming to support him. |

It's crazy how since Kanu Nwankwo did it in 2000, no Nigerian player has done it. I even doubt past Naija stars has done it before him pre-2000. On his Afcon debut, Kanu dropped 3 assists🅰️🅰️🅰️ vs Tunisia in the 4-2 win in Lagos. A true goal creator masterclass clinic that has never been repeated by any other Nigerian player. Iwobi came close. Mikel came close. Chukwueze came close. Akor came close. Lookman came very very close. All had 2 assists in one Afcon game. But none has bagged 3 in one game like Kanu. Or am I wrong? Kanu may not have scored a goal at the Afcon but the magic he wielded in direct goal involvements via assists between 2000 and 2010 was damn special. |

Kog45:No. I'm not saying that Alebiosu should play instead of Osayi. I'm saying that for me, Osayi has not really been tested because of the opposition we have faced. |

Mujtahida:Not on the pitch, but many people in the set alluded to multiple instances of infighting, cliques and beefs in the squad. It never manifested on pitch but still... hardly any difference. I sha believe they'll get things sorted. A full day should be enough for everyone to cool off. |

Osimhen should either be benched or sent home for this recalcitrant attitude of his. It is the team over any player. If we lose, we lose. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by lovewins: 8:06am On Jan 06 |
Goke7:I hope you know what you did hear is very dishonest. You created your own straw man and posited arguments to fit a false narrative. I'll put it in bullet so you can have perspective. 1. The issue between Victor and Lookman had nothing to do with Lookman being "selfish". The player Victor was angry with was Bruno (initially thought Osayi), and Victor got in his face because Bruno didn't pass him the ball. 2. Lookman then intervened l, asked Victor to tone down, more like called out his BS. This is what Victor was angry with Lookman about. 3. So if you choose to even slander Lookman, at least stick to the context of what happened and not create your own false narrative. You can legitimately castigate Lookman for asking Osimhen to calm down, but you can't in support of Victor say Lookman is Selfish as if that's what cause the beef between him and Victor. 4. Lookman obviously can be selfish, he's historically shown to be, but the allegation of selfishness in the AFCON is just slander at this point. Can he be indecisive leading to him making a bad decision? Obviously, but accusing him of selfishness in this AFCON when he literally leads the assist chart is crazy. |

Kog45:Yes he's not a newbie. But I don't trust him. Not even with his good showing against Mozambique. And Onyeka helps him a lot on that right hand side |
