Friends, Countrymen, Nairalanders,

Osimhen and Anger Issues.....

Yeah passion is good but lack of self control is not. Osimhen didn't act professionally, truth has to be said. I do get where he is coming from but still, the team doesn't revolve around him. He needs to understand that there is very little he can do on his own. I practically was tossing and turning on my bed with the replays in my sleep.

I remember how he needlessly got a yellow card for God knows what in the Tunisia match! Fighting your team mates and trying to lose the voice of reason is really detrimental to the harmony in the team. He really does need to be calm. And I do believe this is coming from more or less pent up frustration where a goal bound move gets scuttled by reckless decision making, or conceding unnecessary goals due to lapse in concentration among other reasons. While others tell themselves, relax, it's just a game, he doesn't see it that way. I totally get it but still...He needs to visit Shaolin temple to learn the way of a Warrior abeg. He is right to demand more from his team especially when they slipping up but there are ways of doin that.

One thing we need to realize is that we need to break out of mediocrity and mediocre performances. And I believe the Eagles are fond of taking their foot off the pedal once they score one or 2 goals . I don't know whether it is a sign of respect to the opponents so as not to demoralize them. I believe we need to be very ruthless when we play. if we can score 10 against an opponent, then let's do so to quell any idea of a comeback. We all saw what took place in the match against Tunisia. A more disciplined team will punish us. I do love the way we played yesterday. Long may it continue but the team needs to play more for one another. It wasn't too long ago when we were not even sure of scoring 1 goal.... especially in games where Osimhen did not play. Now we can score 4 goals in a match!!! That's progress. We now have more scorers in Lookman, Osimhen, Akor, Onyeka, Onyedika and more. There is a shift and the team needs to intensify their push for more.

This relaxing when it matters most, especially after 60 mins is what might be irking Osimhen. Walking out of the stadium to the dressing room is too much a statement not to be interpreted or misinterpreted in any way. He left too much room for that. I hope the team solves these on/off field squabbles.

More wins Super Eagles

the way you people disrespect Lookman is alarming last afcon he put up a Good showing and literally our best player now this afcon
Osimhen an elite striker that can’t stay onside most of the time to save his life if everybody Dey quarrel with am
You need to understand Lookman is built to play that way he is selfish he is selfish yet topping assist table Mtcheew
It's not disrespect if one states the obvious. We thank God for his resurgence, cos that's what is giving most of us in here the mouth to fire salvos back. It wont harm if he gives the ball to a better placed player. that's all we are saying. No one called him a bad player. And this selfishness thingy robbed us of crucial wins not too long ago. Let us not pretend to have selective amnesia. Chukwueze was guilty of this as well but he has changed. It doesn't matter who scores so long as we are winning together.

Lets not wait until the day we will rue this selfish traits where and when it matters most. O pari

Win or loose for Eric chelle, the nff should give him a long term contract. If not, we are are going back to our unsuccessful day's.

I hope you know what you did hear is very dishonest. You created your own straw man and posited arguments to fit a false narrative. I'll put it in bullet so you can have perspective.

1. The issue between Victor and Lookman had nothing to do with Lookman being "selfish". The player Victor was angry with was Bruno (initially thought Osayi), and Victor got in his face because Bruno didn't pass him the ball.

2. Lookman then intervened l, asked Victor to tone down, more like called out his BS. This is what Victor was angry with Lookman about.

3. So if you choose to even slander Lookman, at least stick to the context of what happened and not create your own false narrative. You can legitimately castigate Lookman for asking Osimhen to calm down, but you can't in support of Victor say Lookman is Selfish as if that's what cause the beef between him and Victor.

4. Lookman obviously can be selfish, he's historically shown to be, but the allegation of selfishness in the AFCON is just slander at this point. Can he be indecisive leading to him making a bad decision? Obviously, but accusing him of selfishness in this AFCON when he literally leads the assist chart is crazy.
Nice points.
It's good that we're seeing these loopholes now to ammend cos right now the boys have been separated from the men as we go into the crucial part of the tournanment. I hope they sought out their differences for the interest of the team. If not, they will be packing their bags after the game against Algeria.
I'm glad Lookman has learnt his mistakes and Osimhen too... If they make amends, except a solid match.

You ended up doing exactly what you are criticizing Nigerians of doing
You don't qualify to promote any self righteous stance here..
You could have made your point without adding the last sentence..
That last line completely negated the self righteous stance you were trying to take..

You are equally as guilty the Nigerians you are trying to slander
You might as well pick your own side and bash Lookman or Osimhen

You no qualify to behave like saviour
Nigerians love to "form" holy when someone speaks the bitter truth. We are cursed with people who prefer a polite lie over a brutal truth. There is a massive difference between criticizing chaos and creating chaos. I'm bashing the culture of toxicity among Nigerian fans. If you can’t see the difference and want to assume the role of the tone-police officer, then your analytical lens is cracked.

Instead of you to confront the reality of the toxic attitude of our fans and journalists, you're busy playing the moral high ground card over a figure of speech. People trying to pit Osimhen against Lookman in a toxic and pointless cold war that can affect the mindset of the players doesn't bother you at all, but people calling out that type of foolishness triggers you.

To call me out for rightfully being angry at our own myopia and self-destruction is pure and shameless gaslighting. If the truth burns you, buy a fan for yourself.

What a game of football yesterday!

Our best game not only of the tournament but in many years. All the players deserve big praise for a virtuoso performance.

My Ratings:

Nwabali (7) - On holiday throughout. Barely tested. Clean sheet will boost his confidence.

Osayi (7) - Solid game defensively. Tried contributing offensively. Still needs to work on his end product when crossing and attacking.

Bruno (7.5) - Defensively astute. Has cemented his position as the first choice LB at least for the foreseeable future until a better option arrives on the scene.

Ajayi (8.0) - Calm composed defending. Love his neat and timely interceptions. Professional performance.

Bassey (8.5) - Unmovable unshakeable rock. Picked up a needless yellow though.

Onyeka (7.5) - Struggled a bit in the first half but improved in the second half. Full of energy as usual. Unlucky to get a yellow following the theatrics of the Mozambican player.

Ndidi (8.0) - Good performance slightly below the output from his last game against Tunisia but good enough, nevertheless. Did well to maintain possession and keep the midfield ticking.

Iwobi (9.5) - My personal man of the match. Best performance ever for the SE without a doubt. If sexy penetrating passes were in the dictionary Iwobinho's name will be beside it. Pre-assists smoother than a new born's skin. Goodness gracious is this what it means to have someone wey sabi control and pass ball? E remain small I for shed tears of joy.

Akor (9) - Excellent performance capped off with a well-deserved goal. Precise and direct movement. Once he masters being more efficient in front of goal, he will be a menace to world football.

Osimhen (8.5) - Our attacking talisman took his goals well. Was having a great game until his temper tantrum. Pity his rotten attitude turned what should have been a standing ovation into a chorus of well-deserved boos.

Lookman (9.5) - Tournament Lookman is a cheat code. Cemented his place as a contender for the AFCON 2025 MVP.

Subs:

Onyedika (7) - Nothing fancy kept midfield ticking should have scored though.

Moses Simon (7.5) - Was a nuisance to the Mozambican defense. Linked up well with Ademola for Akor's goal. Could have scored towards the end.

Onuachu (N/A) - Came in late didn't affect the game much.

Fisayo (7) - Nothing spectacular but kept our midfield dominant.

Chukwueze (N/A) - Came in late didn't affect the game much.

Eric Chelle (10/10) - Tactical setup that suppressed and strangled the Mozambicans. Turned the game into a glorified training session.

All round dream display. Statement win. On to the next one.

Thank God!

In any case we face DRC (which I doubt) Chelle should use a formation of 3-DMs in the person of Onyedika, Frank Onyeka and Ndidi to Choke that midfield cos it will be a battle of the titans.
Remember, they took control and we couldn't see any game play and they had a field day through the wings.
Thanks for someone like Benjamin Fedricks but I doubt if Osayi Samuel can be decent enough??

At that point when Lookman was in the best position to lay the pass, Osimhen was slightly off side. Knowing Osimhen's history of off sides, Lookman was probably not sure of if Osimhen was on side or not and so he rather ignored Osimhen.

Osimhen really needs to learn how to time his runs. And for his actions on the pitch for me it is distracting. He really needs to learn to keep his calm.

As always, Nigerians are too thick to see how self-destructive they are. This is how the players foolishly chose to boycott training right before the most important game we played in 2025. We just bamboozled a strong Mozambique side and journalists on the social media space are stupidly fanning the embers of discord and disunity within the team, picking sides and bashing Osimhen or Lookman. Why are we cursed in this country? Why do we have to air our dirty laundry out in public and ruin things for ourselves? I just hope Osimhen and Lookman can put all this aside and avoid social media because the fans and journalists are making this whole fiasco ten times worse with foolish statements and suggestions, questioning Osimhen's contributions or implying that certain players are not needed in the team. Nigerians I pour spit for una!

Look at what Nigerians below are saying!
I agree totally with you this time! Just like the bonus row at the play offs the eagles won’t surely survive this and if they do that will be magical. It’s been a curse for decades in the team.

We are too divisive as a people and we no get cure

exactly, while the Coach is expected to have a word with Victor, he should extend same to Lookman too, for peace to reign in the camp. And lookman too should also be spoken to to not allow what happened on the pitch affect him to the point he becomes indecisive when playing. He should play the way he knows how to play and not be pressured into doing what he cannot do.
Thank you na you get sense pass here unlike the many hypocrites here!

People in this forum are funny. What did lookman do, because he didn't pass to oshimen. The goals oshimen has score in the Afcon. Who has been passing the ball to him.
Make we nor dey side bad thing. We are arguing here as if we don't know who oshimen is.
I remember the match against Tunisia when he scored he started pointed finger toward the tunisia bench, which cost in a yellow card.
That guy should be taught a very big lesson to correct is ego

Bassey is suspended for the Quarter finals...
IMO, this could have been avoided if he didn't play the Uganda game and pick up an unnecessary booking in the final minutes yesterday..

Now, it's either Ogbu or Awazeim to partner Ajayi...

I hope Chelle and the NFF technical crew are aware of this suspension
