Is it not team work too to ensure the highest scorer in the competition or your country is from your team or generation? Is it not a thing of pride for any team player?

The Brazilian team in 2002 World Cup ensured that Ronaldo da Lima surpassed Pele goal record for Brazil in the World Cup. They were intentional about it and achieved it.
Those assists and goals Osimhen scored are not from his teammates assistance abi,so the team should abandon the coach instructions cuz Osimhen is aiming at Yekini record.....a record that Osimhen will soon break based on his stats with eagles

No contradiction you’re making it look as if the players should only focus on osihmen because he’s chasing a record when in fact osihmen has been one of the most selfless player in this team! A good team and selfless player deserves others should be selfless as well. No cap

Eric Chelle should have it in mind that Iwobi might be double marked in the quarter finals. It's clear now that he's the main guy who orchestrates our best attacking chances from deep.
Apt 💯
That why I'll advise (in my own humble opinion) to have Iwobi play behind Osimhen and Akor then have a 3 -man midfield setup consisting of Onyedika, Frank Onyeka and Ndidi to choke the middle.

In any case we face DRC (which I doubt) Chelle should use a formation of 3-DMs in the person of Onyedika, Frank Onyeka and Ndidi to Choke that midfield cos it will be a battle of the titans.
Remember, they took control and we couldn't see any game play and they had a field day through the wings.
Thanks for someone like Benjamin Fedricks but I doubt if Osayi Samuel can be decent enough??
He will not use Onyedika. Except as a sub.

Bassey out? I doubt we will beat our next opponent.

I blame Osimhen for this.
How? With one yellow card? The last card he picked was against Uganda and that was at the group stage. Isn't the position that cards are not carried over from group stage to the next round?

Osimhen needs serious competition in the striker position. Lots of great players have played for Nigeria without visible temper tantrums . Super eagles will
Always be there. Osimhen or not. He just lucky he is the most indispensable player in the squad today
He should not try that nonsense with players like Akor Adams, or Osayi Samuel who you know by mere looking at them, they get anger issues naturally and their blood dey hot 100% cheesy
because if you dey mad reach their side, that his face-mask will turn to bandage-mask.

Osimhen feels betrayed and hurt by people he considers brothers. Chelle needs to get slides and let them understand Osimhen scoring in line with the tactics is a team goal.

The players must change their attitude. We are still a long way to go. Let us not ruin a good position.
This your own spin talking of betrayal no follow oo. Listen to an insider.

Betrayed!? Guy easy with the melodramatic description.

The team has been playing well and feeding Osimhen that's why he has three goals to his name.

Why couldn't Victor have waited till they get to the sanctity of the dressing room to express his frustrations?

Why the eye service forming passion to make it look like your teammates are stupid for not passing to you?

Quality tactics without adequate team spirit and unity won't get you anywhere. If I was his team mate yesterday even though I won't voice it out I would be saying who does this jerk think he is?

We have a crucial game on Saturday. Victor should channel that vex to the opposition we will face.

I admire Osimhen he should not allow his temper overshadow his many wonderful qualities.

See yesterday he scored twice deserving of standing ovation yet because of his poor attitude na boos he chop. I can bet yesterday for him mind he go dey say why are these ingrates booing me.
Bluefontaine is talking about betrayal, hurt, heartbreak. I weak.

Thisssssssssss oooooooo! I dont understand why Lookman keeps falling out of folks' fingers here!

Osimhen's grouse and frustration was with Bruno who was also having a splendid game by the way. But him not feeding that pass was absolutely diabolical. No one is specifically talking about that! Perhaps they do not know the sequence of play we refer to.

And again and again not excusing Osimhen for his overdramatic walkover to Lookman saying "it's a team game" after Lookman signalled him to calm down & forget Bruno.
Vic should not have confronted Lookman that way even if he did to explain his frustrations and why he was livid hence the words, "it's a team game" in reference to Bruno's diabolical no-pass.

Now, I am and we are all used to Victor gesticulating loudly sometimes and frustratingly when a good buildup chance is squandered not for effort but for failure to pass to the man in free space. He does it, it ends, we move on.
But omo, you need to see that action replay over and over and wonder why Bruno didnt pass the ball to the obvious best option = Osimhen.

This is exactly what TheGoodJoe is saying in his post about Oiling and respecting the system Chelle is building. This team has thrived MAINLY so far on attacking transitions that finds the best option in the final third. We have to keep it going and not mind who gets the "scoring glory".

Victor showing frustration at the Bruno no-pass was a normal sight to see in football. But angrily walking over to a lookman who wanted him to shelf his "bruno frustrations" and focus on the next phase of play was where Victor really dropped the ball. It was not needed even though his intentions were to explain and not fight.

The media will milk anything and this is right there for the milking. Anyone not talking about the Bruno action that led to all these is part of the social media gang milking this and subtly or openly making it an Osimhen v Lookman thing when it was never about that.

The worst are folks pushing the notion of an Osimhen jealousy for Lookman. Like what the hell is that?? I just shake my head.

Everyone kindly go watch the Bruno no-pass sequence found between minutes 59-63 of the game and tell me if you wont be frustrated at that blatant action.

We all know what has been happening since Chelle took up the job. His philosophy has largely been that the team should play for Osimhen. Only against Mozambique did we see a different setup—one that tried to neutralize the usual “play-for-Victor” approach and instead emphasized playing for the entire forward line.
I honestly don’t think Osimhen asked for too much. At most, he was trying to remind Lookman that football is a team game. My only issue was the manner in which he made his point. Can any team member challenge Osimhen like that and expect the other person not to react? The answer is no. That said, Lookman also needs to learn to play for the team. I recall the third goal against Tunisia —it came from a similar situation. This time, he scored, but Osimhen was actually in a better position to finish.
Overall, Osimhen also needs to learn to respect his teammates. He shouldn’t be the only one losing his cool. The better they understand and respect each other, the more victories Nigeria will enjoy.
My man of the match was Iwobinho. He dictated the tempo from start to finish. Ndidi kept things simple, and Onyeka did the same. Apart from the yellow cards, both of them shielded Iwobi very well, allowing him to express himself—almost like Zidane in his prime.
Nwabali looked like Petr Čech at the back, thanks largely to the solid backline. Bassey barely broke a sweat. Osayi showed good attacking intent but missed a golden opportunity to get on the scoresheet.
The substitutions were spot on—even Simon came on and started playing like CR7. Overall, the Super Eagles had a very good game, clearly a product of the closed-door training sessions. If the team can remain focused, they are now genuine title contenders.
They made a loud statement yesterday. A 4–0 win is loud. I was expecting Senegal to beat Sudan by that margin, or Morocco to do same to Tanzania. Chelle clearly knows what he’s doing to restore peace and togetherness among two of Africa’s very best.

To be fair, Osimhen frustration at Bruno was building up cus Bruno has been delivering some nonsense crosses all tournament... That being said, our full backs over the years have shown that they don't have that scoring mentality anytime they find themselves in gold goalscoring positions...Zaidu, Osayi, Bruno, even Aina... Maybe it's better they stick to creating chances instead

Players like VO comes once in a generation and when he’s done or retired it will take donkey years to see another Nigerian striker like him. We’ve not produced a striker like him since Yekini. I just laugh at those condemning all about him. Has Uruguay produced another striker like the ear biting Suarez?.

When you have such players you focus more on what they deliver to you and manage their excesses that’s best practice all over. Vinicius is another character did he not produce all the goods for Real Madrid? Gattuso was a mad man per excellence did Italy not win the World Cup with him? We Africans especially Nigerians are always looking for unnecessary perfection from people which doesn’t exist anywhere and that’s why we keep underperforming.

Am beginning to like Eric Chelle more no matter what you say about his players he sticks with them no matter what as far as they deliver. If it’s a Nigerian coach players like Nwabali would have been removed to please self righteous Nigerians. He’s bringing that westerner mentality where you focus on what’s being delivered instead of looking for moral perfection and he said it in his interview with Segun Odegbami he’s looking for warriors on the pitch not gentlemen 😂 he himself na werey wey wan slap that Congolese in that wcq play offs!
You have completely missed the point. Like Kog45 said, it's a disciplinary issue. We have been hammering on Nwabali. This is Victor's. To turn a blind eye to it is to allow chaos to thrive and sabotage the team.

I hope you know that Osimhen is the vice captain. He has to set an example not be the instigator of chaos and conflict.

Lookman or whoever does not pass the ball to you? You talk to him during training not cause in game disruption. This has nothing to do with his footballing abilities because you kept making it sound like he should be excused because he's our star player.

Star players too must be disciplined. No excuses. No exceptions
