Please Anyone with a Free Acre of Land should donate to Calvin Bassey. The Guy has been a Prayer warrior recently and will be retiring as a Pastor soon.
Bassey wey dey play football like cultist? I talk am for where i take watch the match yesterday, dem say i no lie. Man’s so strong and he himself doesn’t even know. He’s not far from being a Worldclass Defender alongside Benji. We’ve never been this lucky in a while.

Players like VO comes once in a generation and when he’s done or retired it will take donkey years to see another Nigerian striker like him. We’ve not produced a striker like him since Yekini. I just laugh at those condemning all about him. Has Uruguay produced another striker like the ear biting Suarez?.

When you have such players you focus more on what they deliver to you and manage their excesses that’s best practice all over. Vinicius is another character did he not produce all the goods for Real Madrid? Gattuso was a mad man per excellence did Italy not win the World Cup with him? We Africans especially Nigerians are always looking for unnecessary perfection from people which doesn’t exist anywhere and that’s why we keep underperforming.

Am beginning to like Eric Chelle more no matter what you say about his players he sticks with them no matter what as far as they deliver. If it’s a Nigerian coach players like Nwabali would have been removed to please self righteous Nigerians. He’s bringing that westerner mentality where you focus on what’s being delivered instead of looking for moral perfection and he said it in his interview with Segun Odegbami he’s looking for warriors on the pitch not gentlemen 😂 he himself na werey wey wan slap that Congolese in that wcq play offs!
Benzema had off field issue with his team mate, Deschamp dropped him. France went on to win the WC. If I am the coach I will start phasing him out, until he becomes humble.

"Lookman also needs to learn to play for the team"

Una see am. This is what I am saying. This is not about Lookman!!!!! For goodness sake!!!! Lookman has been playing for the team all tournament and this is partly why he leads the tournament in Chances created (12).

When una no understand something, dont comment to keep sowing false narratives. This was never about Lookman being selfish. It is not why Osimhen went over to him. Haba!!!!

Osimhen was clearly raging at Bruno before and even after he left Lookman. That Bruno no-pass when it was too obvious to execute was a real slap even for me watching. That is what triggered all these. Not Lookman's largely non existent selfishness at this Afcon.

lexyman:
We all know what has been happening since Chelle took up the job. His philosophy has largely been that the team should play for Osimhen. Only against Mozambique did we see a different setup—one that tried to neutralize the usual “play-for-Victor” approach and instead emphasized playing for the entire forward line.
I honestly don’t think Osimhen asked for too much. At most, he was trying to remind Lookman that football is a team game. My only issue was the manner in which he made his point. Can any team member challenge Osimhen like that and expect the other person not to react? The answer is no. That said, Lookman also needs to learn to play for the team. I recall the third goal against Tunisia —it came from a similar situation. This time, he scored, but Osimhen was actually in a better position to finish.
Overall, Osimhen also needs to learn to respect his teammates. He shouldn’t be the only one losing his cool. The better they understand and respect each other, the more victories Nigeria will enjoy.
My man of the match was Iwobinho. He dictated the tempo from start to finish. Ndidi kept things simple, and Onyeka did the same. Apart from the yellow cards, both of them shielded Iwobi very well, allowing him to express himself—almost like Zidane in his prime.
Nwabali looked like Petr Čech at the back, thanks largely to the solid backline. Bassey barely broke a sweat. Osayi showed good attacking intent but missed a golden opportunity to get on the scoresheet.
The substitutions were spot on—even Simon came on and started playing like CR7. Overall, the Super Eagles had a very good game, clearly a product of the closed-door training sessions. If the team can remain focused, they are now genuine title contenders.
They made a loud statement yesterday. A 4–0 win is loud. I was expecting Senegal to beat Sudan by that margin, or Morocco to do same to Tanzania. Chelle clearly knows what he’s doing to restore peace and togetherness among two of Africa’s very best.

This Osimhen's new style of coming to camp late, should also be stopped now. He isn't bigger or better than his team mates.

I have to comment about this Osimhen attitude issue. I am one never to hold back pointing out when a player is wrong but in this case, I understand Osimhen.

When a player is in space and the team fails to pass to him repeatedly, it turns to sabotage.

The bond in the National team is like brotherhood, so it is clear why Osimhen feels bitter.
Sabotage, betrayal, hurt and heartbreak. The same issue or another one? We are talking about team discipline and how it can affect the team performance going forward. You are talking about sabotaging Osimhen. How?

Osimhen feels betrayed and hurt by people he considers brothers. Chelle needs to get slides and let them understand Osimhen scoring in line with the tactics is a team goal.

The players must change their attitude. We are still a long way to go. Let us not ruin a good position.

Force?? My own narrative?? Something that clearly happened on field?? So I should allow your erroneous and obviously misleading take on Lookman being selfish to stand?

I get it. It seems like the easier narrative to sell. Carry on please okay. Osimhen attacked Lookman because Lookman was selfish. Keep running with it.

And you must obviously be new to Super Eagles games to make an issue of Osimhen's gesticulations as he did with Bruno when a pass does not come or a chance goes begging. It shows you watch only for the scoreline and dont observe at all.

So dont worry, run with the Lookman selfish angle. It makes sense.

You have completely missed the point. Like Kog45 said, it's a disciplinary issue. We have been hammering on Nwabali. This is Victor's. To turn a blind eye to it is to allow chaos to thrive and sabotage the team.

I hope you know that Osimhen is the vice captain. He has to set an example not be the instigator of chaos and conflict.

Lookman or whoever does not pass the ball to you? You talk to him during training not cause in game disruption. This has nothing to do with his footballing abilities because you kept making it sound like he should be excused because he's our star player.

Star players too must be disciplined. No excuses. No exceptions
Agreed so what’s the discipline, fines, apology, ban or what?

i can give you many instances of Lookmon been selfish ... like you said , i ve been with the SE ... since the 80's , and this is the indiscipline that collapsed the eagles of 94 . the team come first before any player , and if you think you can come here to speak ones anyone disagrees with your point ... keep your point salient and less emotional . we are all here for a purpose . p

The game is the game. Be humble to learn from the BOSS!!
Bossoflife25:
I addressed it in my other post. Read this quote "Choking the midfield is not being cautious is simply creating balance. Every successful endeavors requires balance. For 75 minutes we had that balance and we dominated. Tunisia changed to 4-3-3, and you as a coach thought the best reaction is to go 4-4-2? Haba. Even someone without football knowledge knows 4-3-3 is the antidote to 442."

He should have brought on another DM for Onyeka a winger for Akor. Simple maths!

That was the Tunisia game. He went to warn the Tunisia coach and got a yellow for that.

The summary of this tournament for him should be about performance but he himself seem to want it to end up being about attitude no matter how those defending him want to downplay it. We all joined hands to call out Nwabali BS even if he lost a loved one. Nobody defended his temperament and said "that's passion" or "that's how he is"

Im seeing on NL FP and X and even Arise TV are saying he said he wants to leave camp. I dunno if it is true, but that's a new development and I'm waiting so bad for those defending him to now start on that. I want to see something.

See how even ladies are calling out Pooja and other naija sport journos for being two-tongued on the matter. That's the Nigerian problem.

I for one want this in past tense asap.

The system is king. That is what is principal. The players should stick to the system. When there is a player in space in the offensive third, get the ball to him as fast as possible.

That is all. Anything different from that is sabotaging the system.

I understand Osimhen's perspective. Knowing his teammates can see him in position and not utilize will feel like heartbreak.

They will learn from it, get over it and unite stronger.

Las Las, they are brothers with common goal.

The most painful is apology because you have to humble yourself to apologize. He should apologize for his conduct.

Come to think of it, it's high time Osimhen dropped this attitude. Because he doesn't do it at the clubs he's played for.

Secondly, it's become a pattern, this his raving and throwing up tantrums. He did it in the match against Zimbabwe, he's done it in other matches too.
