But they were in the semis last time. This is easily a quarter final for AFCON.
Yes, let them do it more consistently, let's see if they can replicate this form generation by generation like Senegal and CIV are doing!

Not that it has never happened. It is rare and not the right thing. That’s why we have coach and assistant.

Captain is not meant to reprimand his fellow player on da pitch. We have coach and we have dressing room.
When you are chasing a game. Everyone will keep mute and wait until they enter the dressing room. Maybe my English was wrong.

Considering how physical this game has been I'm surprised there has been no cards.

The referee is really soft..

Yesterday, our players got booked for softer fouls

That Congolese guy who stays on his feet the whole match with his hand in the air at the stadium is doing witchcraft on the Algerians, hahaha

i think i will prefer the Algerian , let them come and play technically with us , they have our attacking lines to contend it ... , DRC may get our players injured , just to win the match . i want a decent match ... we can leave the revenge against DR Congo , till much later .
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 7:01pm On Jan 06
If it goes to shootout, DRC has one more change to make before it gets there. Their GK, Fayulu. I suspect it. But time will tell. They have made 5 changes already but extra time means an extra change is available.

DRC has superb defensive transitions. They come into their defensive shape quickly after losing possession..also a very physical well drilled team. Any team playing against DRC needs to really mixup their buildup play to create clear cut chances.

I feel they will try to exploit our defence with trickery and pace but we have the physicality to test their backline also. We will need to outscore them if we meet

To win a tournament you need a solid defence

DRC is playing exactly how Nigeria and Npfl used to play and win matches

Highly physical Off the ball marking

And beat you on the break with a quick counter

Now we’ve adopted technicality football at the cost of our physicality

Now we complain that our boys are tired for playing 120mins 😔

The two teams Algeria vs Congo deserved to be at the semi final ,unfortunately one must leave tonight while the other meet Nigeria.

Honestly I prefer drc but it's not like Algeria would be tougher and I say this because it seems to me that the SE have shed their skin of low amounts of goals so far in this afcon...

During the wcq we were struggling to get goals going with only Benin and Gabon( after extra time ) being the only teams we beat convincingly and even with that we scored drc in 4 minutes

I believe if we face the drc in qf we would win that match with a 3 goal difference scoreline if we take our chances and so far we have done that impressively

SE ALL THE WAY TO THE FINALS🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬

TheSuperNerd:
Let us talk about Iwobi's Pre-assists today.

1st Pre-assist... Sweet lines breaking pass to Akor Adams who assisted Lookman.

2nd Pre-assist pass.... Another beautifully weighted pass from deep in left midfield to Lookman, who floated in a fine cross which got a slight touch from Akor Adams before reaching Osimhen who finished.

Ofcos the Akor touch means preassist belongs to Lookman but abeg, in my book, the goal began at the foot of Iwobi. Those line breaker passes are just sublime.

3rd Pre-assist... Early in the 2nd half, Iwobi Fed Lookman again before Lookman wriggled his way and found Osimhen with that intelligent cross.

Vs Tunisia, his preassist pass to Osimhen who assisted Lookman is another piece of midfield class pointing to this part of Iwobi's game that has become a constant at this tournament.

2 assists, 4 pre-assists. Insane Final third pass numbers. 9 chances created across 3 games so far. Alex Iwobi is having his best Major tournament showing in the Green white and Green & it is likely to culminate in a title triumph. Attack is firing. Midfield is creating and showing presence. Switch from midfield 2 to Midfield 3 yielding fine fruit. Defence looks compact... the team transits and presses with purpose and control.

The pieces are coming together and Iwobi is one of those key pieces.
Watch Boodsbants' Amazingly funny Summary and my analysis above and you get the full 5-D picture. Lol

His summary clips on the Tunisia and Mozambique games are also gold. Funny. Creative. A keeper.

My morrocan colleague said super eagles are the only team bringing European flair to the AFCON. He said it’s like watching PSG or Man city

Well well, somebody tell Chelle and Osimhen that the matter has not been settled.

Osimhen must come here and tender apology. He should come here with 2 big gourds of palm wine to appease the Nairaland Umunna.

Finito

Ref, is there any way they don't play the second half of extra time 😂 and go straight to penalty kicks
