CAF suppose to punish the player as that was too provocative, yes that mobile statute 😂 as annoying as it is especially playing against Congo brought so much glamour to the competition and am happy to see the CAF president meeting and taking photos with the guy to recognise the colour he added to the AFCON.

Amoura shouldn’t be doing this and his FA should be fined if they don’t want to punish the player directly.
Banter, That's the beauty of football (AFCON) nothing to fine or punish there.

Was wondering where you've been. How you see the Algerian team?
Top Notch against weaker opposition. Quite exposed against DR Congo whose Coach entered the game with a defensive 5-3-2 mentality though partially good but was his albatross.
Nigeria will edge out Algeria by a goal margin whether it will enter the extra time is what I am not sure of but eventually Nigeria to the Semi finals. This is a game where Onyedika should start alongside Iwobi, Onyeka and Ndidi with either Lookman ADEMOLA or Victor Osimhen starting from the Bench.
Akor Adams should be sure to start.
My main fear= I pray NWABALI and SEMI AJAYI do not do anything outrageous in the game.

Choking the midfield with Iwobi playing ahead of 2 strikers is key to breaching the Algerian Defence. Mahrez is not to be feared but cancelling out Benselbaini(I hope I spelt his name correctly) and the sleeky Hicham Boudaoui all through will be a necessary antidote.

That’s a banter gone too far, that Congolese deserve better respect than that. The best way as an opponent who has won Congo is to even go over to the fellow and take pics with him in the spirit of sportsmanship.

EEGA:
Osimhen is the only indispensable player in SE.

We beat Benin 4-0 without Lookman (suspended as a result of accumulation of yellow cards).

Chukwueze had 2 assists in that game with only 45mins played.

Osimhen deserves some respect.

Pass the ball to your striker or it is perceived as sabotage.

Lookman shouldn't have interfered.

We've Lookman's replacement on the bench, who grabbed 2 assists against Tanzania, but non on the bench can deputize for Osimhen.

We don't need any form of apology from Osimhen.

Gala in Turkey reveres him, but we belittle his achievements in SE colours.

Till you produce a striker similar or at the same level with VO9, pls always pass the ball.

Chelle can't drop VO9, but will advise his players to always pass the ball to their striker.

Every team relies on their striker for goals.

Immediately Osimhen got injured and was receiving treatment on the sidelines, the Carthage eagles(Tunisia) raised the tempo of the game, attacking the SE left with quick transitions from defence to midfield and then attack.

He possesses that fear factor that stops defenders and midfielders from attacking (defensive cautiousness on the part of the opponent).

Go!Go!!Go!!! Super Eagles.
You guys should stop this rubbish, which is the only indispensable player is Osimhen. We can do without any player, yes I said it. Osimhen, Iwobi, Lookman are very important to this team but we can do without them if any decided to go against the unity and success of the team.

Player like Osimhen,Lookman,Bassey and the rest deserves Afcon trophy and World Cup so that there would be no excuses not to rate them, especially Osimhen, beating Yekini record is cool but not everlasting, winning AFCON and participate in world cup would add to their profiles

BREAKING!!!

Trouble in Morocco? Distraction?

The Super Eagles players have said they won't travel to Marrakech for the Algeria game unless the NFF offsets all outstanding winning bonuses at the AFCON.

Adegoke rest abeg. We were in control of the game. Yes, Osimhen was right to call for more goals, but Lookman wasn't wrong to ask to take things easy as the shout on Bruno was disrespectful, but Osimhen was totally wrong to have reacted childishly the way he did.
The same control we had against Tunisia. Until we started praying for the match to end.

It was a distasteful celebration to be honest. It would have made sense if they did the Congo fimbu celebration dance to troll the Congolese. That Lumumba mockery was out of order given the context.

It's unfortunate, our people are determined to drive a wedge between Osimhen and Lookman.

If those guys are notl large hearted enough to face the task and get it done with, the idiocy and crassness of our people will poison their hearts and destroy this mission.

Many of the people stoking this division online are not even football fans. They just want to destroy.
i find the Osimhen fanboys more guilty of this. First they accuse Lookman not passing to Osimhen as the reason for his outburst. When few found out Lookman not passing wasn't the cos, they move to why will Lookman tell him he has scored two goals. Anything to rope Lookman in and absolve Osimhen of his actions.

Midfield domination is absolutely crucial to stopping the Algerians who know how to pressure defenses.

I sadly don't see how we won't concede (will be pleasantly surprised if we keep a clean sheet) but if our attack plays like how they have been doing for other matches we will definitely breach the Algerian defense. They haven't yet dealt with pace like that of Osimhen and Lookman.

TheSuperNerd:
Osimhen is likelier to go the next WC in 2030 than Iwobi. Lookman too.

Iwobi is older than both APOTYs. He is the brain of our midfield. He has been carrying the creative weight since Mikel left the scene in 2019 but hardly got the chance to thrive to his best form in a major tournament from a creative POV. He is getting that now and it will be quite the poetic climax for him at Afcon 2025 as redemption for all those years of toiling, being underutilised and being misprofiled by our past coaches.

Iwobi, Osimhen, Lookman, Ndidi, Bassey, Nwabali form the Spine of this team. They and the other lads deserve this title as compensation for the WC miss but in Iwobi, we have a story that runs deeper coz he came into the Super Eagles 2 yrs after our last Afcon triumph. Ndidi was the only other lad who debuted same day as Iwobi.
with the way Iwobi is playing for Nigeria now, I see him staying longer in the national team. Taking the role of a Toni kroos, no much running, just covering space but still the epicentre of our attack.

In fact, some comments I saw online from South Africans want him sacked and replaced with one of their local champion coach..

In their defense, he f*** up by calling up players from other teams (especially Pirates) and not Sundowns...
You know there's a problem when a national team is over reliant on players from one club...their squad at the last AFCON had almost 60% of players from Sundowns alone and like 8 of their starting XI too ..
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 4:43pm On Jan 07
He is already in his Toni Kroos mode. He unlocked this fully last season especially at Fulham. He will be 30 by May. I reckon he still has 3 quality yrs (till 2029) MAX to give the Super Eagles but he could make 2030 his true swansong.
