NFF! NFF!! NFF!!

Why is it so hard to do simple things properly in this country??

Pay them their bonus FGS!

Abi Na mind game??
😂 let’s hope it’s a mind game. The only issue I have with our players why is it when they want to play a game they are not sure about they come up with this stunts. They should have done this immediately after first round games especially having qualified for the second round knockout

A laborer is deserving of his wages. I support dem.
I'm really not interested in rehashing these arguments. I've spoken at length on this same issue in the past. Frankly, Nigerians have demonstrated time and again that they're naturally comfortable making identical mistakes repeatedly. Just last month, these same bunch of clowns staged a boycott over unpaid bonuses right before one of the most important matches in recent Nigerian football history. They refused to train, created a media circus, and went into a game against Gabon, managed an unconvincing win (yes, it was unconvincing. The 4-1 scoreline was highly flattering) and then faced a well drilled DR Congo team, mentally and physically unprepared. The lack of proper preparation showed on the pitch. Most of the players were already gassed out before half time. If it weren't for Frederick and Bassey, we should have lost that game 4-1 or 5-1. The entire nation is still suffering the consequences till today, waiting for a FIFA case against DR Congo that I suspect may not even hold much weight.

The NFF is notoriously disorganized and always - ALWAYS fails to fulfill its financial obligations on time. Everyone knows this. The players know this. The fans know this. This is a known problem that should have been resolved before the tournament even began. But since both the federation and the players are very content to foolishly repeat this destructive pattern, because they are a cursed people forbidden to happiness and success, I've completely disconnected from this AFCON mentally. They can continue their circus for as long as they please. Won't be the first time we single handedly sabotage ourselves with our own hand in a tournament.

Onyeka, Onyedika, Ndidi and Iwobi should start.

So if you were the coach this is what you would do.

Kai 😂😂😂
Of course. You speak from the confines and limitations of your knowledge.
Ndidi , Onyeka and Onyedika are all DMs with Onyedika having some flair for Attack both at Clubsides and National team level. The intent is to dispossess the Algerian Midfield provided we use a 4-3-1-2 formation. We need one of Osimhen or Ademola come in later in the game as fresh energy not Moses Simon who may or will not offer much as per would be subs. Ejuke and Fisayo might also be needed later in the game.
Lookman/ Adams attack or an Adams/ Osimhen attack will suffice By the way check France 98 French team formation in the quarter finals and finals and tell me if it is much different from what I have opined.

😂 😂 😂 you dey talk from experience Abi

But seriously the players shouldn’t be 4 games gone before demanding their pay. Immediately after two games if you aren’t paid then you shouldn’t be showing up for the next. They know the nff well so they should not be allowing stuff drag that long. I will always find it difficult to be totally on the side of the players.

This will surely tell on our next match, no cap!

He's been vociferously condemned by Algerians for his unsportmanship and ignorance.

The man who killed Lumumba was arrested in Algeria. So that historical connection is there. Both nations see themselves as brothers who suffered under colonial occupation.

Algerians didn't take kindly to his action oo
The backlash was swift and uncompromising stemming from a history of shared pain inflicted by colonial masters. The player has apologized.

Midfield domination is absolutely crucial to stopping the Algerians who know how to pressure defenses.

I sadly don't see how we won't concede (will be pleasantly surprised if we keep a clean sheet) but if our attack plays like how they have been doing for other matches we will definitely breach the Algerian defense. They haven't yet dealt with pace like that of Osimhen and Lookman.
I think we will keep a clean sheet on Saturday

We had a full day rest before Algeria/DRC match which means a one-day advantage. Plus the game even went to extra time affording us the opportunity to wear them out early on Saturday. But in our infinite wisdom, we decided to sabotage ourselves again and level the playing field for Algeria.

The last time we skipped training it didn't end well for us. For the first time since the tournament started, I'm now genuinely concerned about our chances going forward.

Yeah. Playing with 4 midfielders will help us. 3 central midfielders and 1 am in iwobi. I remember the 2019 match against Algeria in which they dominated our modfield. If we put 4 men in midfield then we can take that midfield from them. Their midfield seems very strong with that Ismael AC Milan guy. Lookmam and osimhem upfront. Iwobi in front of 3 cm's. That will lock up the midfield for us. It will really choke them. From there we can easily attack them

Top Notch against weaker opposition. Quite exposed against DR Congo whose Coach entered the game with a defensive 5-3-2 mentality though partially good but was his albatross.
Nigeria will edge out Algeria by a goal margin whether it will enter the extra time is what I am not sure of but eventually Nigeria to the Semi finals. This is a game where Onyedika should start alongside Iwobi, Onyeka and Ndidi with either Lookman ADEMOLA or Victor Osimhen starting from the Bench.
Akor Adams should be sure to start.
My main fear= I pray NWABALI and SEMI AJAYI do not do anything outrageous in the game.

Choking the midfield with Iwobi playing ahead of 2 strikers is key to breaching the Algerian Defence. Mahrez is not to be feared but cancelling out Benselbaini(I hope I spelt his name correctly) and the sleeky Hicham Boudaoui all through will be a necessary antidote.
Una they talk sha
Lookman or Osimhen should start from the bench?
You for just add Bassey should also start from the bench

EEGA:
Osimhen is the only indispensable player in SE.

We beat Benin 4-0 without Lookman (suspended as a result of accumulation of yellow cards).

Chukwueze had 2 assists in that game with only 45mins played.

Osimhen deserves some respect.

Pass the ball to your striker or it is perceived as sabotage.

Lookman shouldn't have interfered.

We've Lookman's replacement on the bench, who grabbed 2 assists against Tanzania, but non on the bench can deputize for Osimhen.

We don't need any form of apology from Osimhen.

Gala in Turkey reveres him, but we belittle his achievements in SE colours.

Till you produce a striker similar or at the same level with VO9, pls always pass the ball.

Chelle can't drop VO9, but will advise his players to always pass the ball to their striker.

Every team relies on their striker for goals.

Immediately Osimhen got injured and was receiving treatment on the sidelines, the Carthage eagles(Tunisia) raised the tempo of the game, attacking the SE left with quick transitions from defence to midfield and then attack.

He possesses that fear factor that stops defenders and midfielders from attacking (defensive cautiousness on the part of the opponent).

Go!Go!!Go!!! Super Eagles.

I'm not buying this supposed protest. Why wait this late? Whenever such occurrences happened in the past, the players always protested much earlier in the tournament (e.g. WC 2010).

He is a solid player at CB. I trust the step up to Turkey from Austria will see him get more visibility and exposure. If he proves himself solid again in the Super Lig as he has already in Austria, a Super Eagles invite and another move wont be far off.

CIV has a starting midfielder at this Afcon, Inao Oulai featuring for Trabzonspor. This move is a very decent one.

Even Charlesemeka85 rates him na. Na just the "Hausa" him dey assign to Turkey. grin
