Till date, my law firm is the only that has been thanked with a basket of tomato by a pro bono client; after we did her case.

Gratitude is the most important thing

It's a pro bono matter that he did for her. Pro bono means free of charge for the sake of humanity.

I recently gifted a BOLT driver $20 in addition to the bargained #5000 in Nigeria rather than appreciating me first, he was busy checking out the money to know if it was counterfeit.
This was done right in front of me. I believe it's something he could have done in his private moment.
Of all the persons I gifted cash gifts, he never appreciated at all and the truth is he never deserved it. I just gave it to him for support after he complained deeply about fuel & vehicle maintenance.
Appreciation matters a lot even when you don't like the gift. It does one thing, which is, opening the doors for more likely better things.
Never reject a gift even when you don't like it, it could be a test for better things.

Very fresh tomatoes and plenty... Share for your staff members and enter market for correct bell pepper and chilli with onions, it would last very long in deep freezer after blending grin

A pro bono case ended in an 'apere" of blazing 🍅 That's truly very profound.

Gratitude is a two way traffic, both the giver and receiver consent are valuable. The pro bono client became grateful to an act of gratitude in free legal representation rendered to her, but in all you do gratitude is the key to gift of life.

Correct me if I am wrong, Pro Bono service is only free if the law firm fails to win the court case. So this basket of tomatoes is likely an unexpected gift which is unrelated to their fees.

In law, pro bono means providing legal services for free, typically for those who can't afford it. It's like giving back to the community through legal aid.

Correct. It is provided for free but if the law firm win in court, judge would order the losing party to pay the cost of the Pro Bono law firm.
