A hilarious video currently circulating online has left many in stitches after a lady shared her reaction to a man’s ₦50,000 phone bought from the online shopping platform, Temu.

In the clip, the lady went to collect items she had ordered when she saw the man’s phone. She couldn’t stop laughing at the tiny device, joking that it was so small it was almost unbelievable. Amused, she even told the man, “Don’t let anyone know you spent 50k on this!”

The video has reignited conversations online about misleading online shopping listings, with many social media users noting that some items on platforms like Temu are advertised to look like full-sized, real products but arrive as miniature or toy-like replicas, often because of unusually cheap prices.

Although product descriptions and size details are usually provided, many buyers argue that this information can be confusing or easy to miss, leaving them surprised once the items are delivered.

This incident is part of a growing trend of viral online shopping stories, including a recent case where a man ordered what he thought was a real Keke Napep, only to receive a toy version.

While some blame misleading listings, others believe that buyers sometimes fall victim because they want expensive items at extremely low prices.

The video continues to entertain viewers online, with many sharing their own experiences of funny or surprising online purchases.

There are some kind of laughs you laugh when you don't want to cry...

Temu should do better. They aren't the only online platform. But this keeps recurring on their platform.

It's either they do it intentionally or they have a problem with their description of goods.

It's most likely they do it intentionally though and it's fraudulent.

They would eventually run into legal issues or people would begin to boycott their platform.

I think its the buyer's fault that he doesn't go through the details of what he is ordering. There are always dimensions to their products. Even though the picture may be magnified, but the dimensions remain accurate to the product size in question.

Temu's fault. They don't label the dimensions of what they sell clearly enough.

Temu are scamming Customers with phone purchases.

I order frequently on Temu, but I don't go near their phones ..

From experience, when buying any item on Temu, I make sure I read the product specification well - checking the product size (inches or meters) and also customers reviews especially the reviews with videos.
One issue with Temu is that their vendors have very bad product description. Sometimes, what you see is not what you get.

But to be honest, I prefer buying thru Temu than Jumia as their products are cheaper especially if you can take advantage of their discount sales

For your information, Temu is the best platform to buy things.

The problem is with the buyers. Every product is well specified.

Greed and hastiness is to blame.

It not intentional people should learn to read discription of item before paying no be every picture be the main item and they even try to put caviet on it but most time people ignore it and later shouting online.. Have been buying from tamu for sometime now with no issue... Some one that I introduce to the app, without my knowledge buy a water prof nylon for outdoor speaker for 50k think it a outdoor speaker he paid for not until he show me the order on his phone which is already in transit, happen to be just a cover and I show him this is not a speaker but a nylon to cover the speaker because it was stated on the app but he did not read through

Nobody taught me to delete TEMU APP after I ordered 3 times with the products far below my expectations. TEMU is like Nigeria situation, very good and attractive on paper but the result is always disappointing.

Never again will I buy anything from TEMU

It's the buyer's fault. He didn't take his time to read the description. I've bought a lot of things from Temu and I've never been disappointed.

Temu is legit..

But Nigeria and their bad reading habit will not take time to go through details before making payments.

I've gotten quality stuffs from Temu without regrets.
