Why I No Longer Advise People To Audition For BBNaija – Phyna by alphonsojidebab(op): 8:26am On Jan 08
Former Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna, has revealed why she no longer encourages aspiring contestants to audition for the popular reality TV show.

Speaking openly during a recent conversation, the reality TV star explained that although BBNaija offers instant fame while the show is ongoing, the attention and popularity often fade shortly after housemates exit the house. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

According to Phyna, the excitement housemates enjoy during the show is largely driven by a recycled fan base that simply shifts loyalty from one season to the next.

“The steeze housemates have on the show, they don’t have it again after leaving the house. It’s the same fan base moving from one person to another — no new people, nothing new,” she said.

She added that once the cameras stop rolling, many former housemates struggle to maintain relevance because the hype does not translate into long-term value.

Phyna also expressed concern that the BBNaija brand no longer carries the same weight it once did. According to her, revealing that one is a former housemate no longer commands the level of respect it used to.

“The show has lost credibility compared to before. When you tell someone now that you came out of BBNaija, they won’t rate you like they did back then,” she stated.

Addressing common misconceptions, Phyna noted that many people believe BBNaija guarantees instant wealth, stability, and lifelong fame. However, she stressed that the reality is far more complicated.

She revealed that several ex-housemates struggle privately after the show, despite maintaining glamorous lifestyles on social media.

According to her, the pressure to stay relevant, secure deals, and meet public expectations can be overwhelming for many former contestants.

Phyna’s honest remarks have reignited discussions online about the true cost of reality TV stardom. Many social media users agreed that while BBNaija offers exposure, it does not automatically secure long-term success.

Her comments serve as a caution to potential contestants, urging them to fully understand what life after the show truly entails.

Bbnaija only gives you a platform and presence...

It's like an advertisement. You need to have a product.

Whatever you do or how you make use of the platform to your advantage is up to you.

The issue most times is the package/product and not the platform. Most of those auditioning for the platform now lack substance.

So they go there and return with nothing because they aren't offering any substance after the "advert"!

She made sense. When you over saturate a show, it loses it's relevance.

It is the same with watching premier League football, it is every year, too many players to remember their impact, most players are forgotten soon after.

I see this year's BBN show turning into a full blown porn movie, I see holier than thou Nigerians condemning it openly but watching it secretly and pleasuring themselves, I see Gumi threatening to kidnap the entire housesmates and organizers if the show isn't banned.

I see Tinubu banning the show. I see Nigerian jobless youths protesting in thousands on the streets for the government to bring back the show, I see police firing them teargas, I see some people telling Trump to force Tinubu to bring back the show.

This I have seen.

Such is life

Just like We all may be classmates while in School but the reality of the matter is that we all will not attain the same level achievements after school

While some go ahead to become stars who are swimming constantly in limelight, some others simply fizzle out into oblivion

Well said. Either you have a product or attach yourself to a brand to stay relevant after the show.

You better go stand for Dangote trailer front.
Re: Why I No Longer Advise People To Audition For BBNaija – Phyna by Mcslize: 9:40am On Jan 08
What value can you provide? That should be the question she should be asking.

You can't stay relevant when you don't have any value to offer the people and society.

Take Davido as an example. What value is Davido providing? He provides diverse products in the form of songs and music that soothe the souls of many people, and that has been able to keep him in the spot light.

That's a value we are talking about. Look for something or a service you can provide after leaving the BBNaija house and not hawking and shaking yansh on Instagram.

Only by providing value or rendering services in any kind of form legitimate can keep you on the spot light.

Nons Miraj is doing hunt game show by match making people for relationships. That alone has kept her on the spot light. She has found her niche.

I don't think she ever dreamt of having the massive amount of subscribers, followers and fans that she currently has now when she was doing skit in the past. She was able to carve her niche.

Find what works for you. If you are not providing any value, you will fade away instantly.

It's the value that you provide that will keep you in the spotlight. Understand that simple fact.

That's life for you, no champion forever. It's imperative you make good use of your opportunity and invest wisely.

Some years back MI, Brymo, Terry G etc were rocking the airwaves, nobody gives a dãmñ about them anymore......A time is coming when these new generation artists would join that list.

The BBnaija is a critical waste of time.
The program is pointless, visionless and useless.
Blame the social media for making a useless program famous.

because when they come out they use the publicity/fame the show gives to them to depend on hookup for wealth, success and respect, not knowing that social respect, and success sustainability is earned.

They should consider hosting the show once every three years instead of the current yearly format.

They should also raise the stakes, the winner should be getting nothing less than 250m, and the selection process should also be overhauled to appeal to Nigerians better.

What she said is true. It is doubly true if one has no value to offer after the show. That is likely her case. Wait, doesn’t she do skits? Has she run out of ideas or is branching out challenging for her?
