I’m on the verge of being rusticated in school

October when I was writing my final exams, something happened just 1 day to end the exam. So me and my friend wrote on our question paper and we exchanged it between ourselves. When I was writing this initiator started searching everyone he got to me and he search me there was nothing on me, he search my booklet yet nothing, he ask me where is my question paper and I showed him just the front because it was the back we wrote on, when he saw it he flipped the back and saw the question paper and ask me who wrote this and what is all this I told him I wrote it with all the back and font he told me to sit down

Minute later he went outside and bought exam malpractice form and gave me and others those who were using chukuli, phones, book and other material to write.

I beg him that I wrote it, all pleading fell to deaf ear, when I saw he was yielding and time was going and no time to beg I just had to fill the paper. I filled it so I can beg him later so I would be able to write something

To get the long story short, 3 days later I was invigated to the student disciplinary board to explain what happened Which I did, I pleaded and beg that it won’t happen again, thry told me I will be punished but not expelled
In my school examination malpractice is straight expulsion no matter who you may know.

2 days later I got I call from my classrep that I was given 2years rustication. I called the Hod and course adviser and they said it true, I check the name of student expelled my name wasn’t there, I confirm from the student discplinary board and truly I was recommended 2 years suspension but the result will be out on February 17th this year, and when it out my student portal will be shutdown immediately

Even since then I have been sad, depressed and lonely and I can’t even tell my parents because they will be disappointed in me, I have been carrying a burden since early November and now it January, I have been thinking none stop, I have been contemplating suicide to be honest, I don’t pray this kind of situation for my worst enemies and those who haven’t been will never truly knows the pain it cause till you’re in the situation

Please i need help and words of encouragement
Even if you blame me, the dead has already been done, I Bleep up and I accepted my mistake

Please guys I’m dying In silence, I can’t even wait till February 17th, it killing me knowing few days to graduation I was rusticated, what will I tell my parent, or people that have help me one way or another in school. I’m devastated to be honest embarassed

Look, imagine all that troubles and when you are through with university and NYSC and unemployed. That's when you'll realise you cheated yourself.

Use the 2 years suspension to better your life. Learn something, get something. I promise you, you won't regret it.

Most things I know now, if I had known it before, me and my lecturers and even teachers would have exchanged blows.

My brother, suicide is not even the best option. This can be a blessing or a curse base on how you interpret the situation. My advice for you is to devote the two years to learning a skills highly related to your field of study or something you're passionate about and by the time the two years elapses, you might even be way ahead of your peers.

Concerning informing your parent or guidance, it depends on how strict they are. If you feel you're close enough, explain to them and tell them how you intend to turn things around. If you aren't close, look for a close relative who can explain to them.

when life throws you lemon make a lemonade, you can turn a bad situation into a not so difficult one. Options: be honest and tell your parents, but as you dey tell them, tell Dem say you wan use the 2 years learn hand work, any skill at all. Options 2: don't tell them, in that two just move out of the house and perhaps stay with a friend or relatives you can trust with your secrets in the same vain learn a skill in these two impromptu years, after you are called back learn your lesson and make sure you mentor younger ones about the dangers of what you did, very important, offer voluntary services whereever opportunity present it self, remember our worth is not tied to our IQ, Accomplishment or what not but grace, and mercy abounds and eventually time and place happens to us all. Moreover in Joel, God promises to replenish the years we have lost, years of setback will eventually be given to you. The choice before you is to keep moving like Sisyphus or be nihilistic but if I were you I'll chose blind faith and keep moving.... What's the fuckin worst that could happen again anyway!!!

Bro I have been something close to your situation....
I attempted suicide, I bought sniper and use it to cook indomitable could not drink it lol 😂... My bro told me that I was going to hell..

I got a rope and went to a big tree afrward to hang myself....... I felt life fizzle out then suddenly the tree branches broke off....

I am was so depressed.... Called home and told them. My dad said he doesn't have anything to do with me again..... I just enter street hahaha 😂😂😂😂
Now I am in 300 level would be grauduating this year by God's grace....

My advice is use the "break" and learn a skill or something... Go for video editing maybe.... And come back strong.... Tell your parents too...

Mine was nine missing results.... In economics and statistics. ... It's more like saying just drop out...

It's gonna be hard... But you can summont the hurdle...

But please appeal the decision first... Write NANS, or any union for students... That might help.

In every organisation, there are men or a man that call the shots, locate them and tell your story, if possible to pay your way out, do so .

Committing suicide because of Nigeria certificate is not worth it especially when 99% of graduates do new skill related courses after graduation from college in order to be able to work.

Instead of committing suicide, tell your parents what happened, they’ll prefer you alive than die foolishly

Those 2 years suspension could be used to learn a new skill that could give you more financial stability than the programme you're studying.
Don't give up. Start giving hints to your sponsors so it doesn't hit them like a suprise either.

Happend to me also 400 level, was depressed for a very long time even when I was told to go and do some findings only to realised I wasn't the culprit but the damage has already been done...

My anger issues refused me to go back bro after like 3 years I decided to start ND thank God I am now in HND 2

Bro forget matter ppl don't know the agony or pain someone usually pass through when that kind of news hit someone...

Please hear this clearly: your life is worth far more than any academic decision. This season feels overwhelming, but it is not permanent. Rustication is a pause, not the end of your destiny.
Don’t carry this alone. As hard as it feels, tell a trusted adult immediately, a parent, guardian, lecturer, pastor/imam, or mentor. You need support now, not silence. If possible, also ask about appeals, mercy reviews, or alternatives; schools sometimes reconsider when genuine remorse and mental distress are documented.

Most importantly, if you feel unsafe right now, please reach out for immediate help, a trusted person near you or local emergency services. Talking to someone now can change everything.

You are not weak for feeling this way. You are human. This pain will pass, even if it doesn’t feel like it. Stay. Ask for help. Your story is not over.

Do not kill yourself over a piece of paper that might not even add anything to your life... Ask those who have graduated, certificate na just for show-off, but if you feel like ending it all, remember that you will give account before your maker. You can gain admission into any school and start even stronger and I have heard of a pastor (ex-cultist) who was rusticated and reinstated after 1 year at home and was later allowed to graduate.... He used Zephaniah 3:19 and kept declaring it for 1 year and his story changed.

Run to God and confess your sins, change your ways and keep declaring... Zephaniah 3:19- Behold, at that time I will undo all that afflict thee: and I will save her that halteth, and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them.

Na who give up, na him lose! Don't give up!

After skimming through I discovered I had rushed to comment without adequate info. Something similar happened to me in my finals; but me, I play lecturer and was almost rusticated, but thank God senior men squash am and I graduated with my set.
But op’s own is very easy he should first kneel down and thank God that it was a 2 year termination of studentship. He should keep being close to the lecturer who told him the news prior and go out get a job and enjoy life for the two years before before resuming. Turn the problem into work experience.

I laughed so hard when I saw this comment but bro you're right. I don't think I used my degree that much and it's looking like I wasted time in school. Everything I know is what I learned outside school and it's working for me

Exactly what goes through my mind whenever I see a corper that is forming extra fresh. I am always like this one never know wetin dey wait for am after service. You have given the best response my bro. Let him use the two years to better his life, if not that he is used to school life and everything and can't imagine life without school, the education can wait. Education is good, it gives an edge but since the time I was on a legitimate job without providing my educational background and also earning 500k, omo I don know say person fit make am without complete education. .

This same Sh@t happened to me in uniben that year 2008 and I made it to NYSC camp 2011 I had to stay home for 2and a half years ....have a relationship with God He will see you through be strong and keep your head up

It's not the end of life man. I know about two people who turned back from final year due to one reason or the other, they are about graduating again with better grades and better courses.

If your family is supportive, don't stay 2 years waiting for school, you can either learn a skill or take jamb again to a better course. Good thing is that school years go in a breeze.

Guy use the 2 years to learn digital skills and enter remote job market. If favour smiles on u, na the school go beg u to come and collect your certificate.
suicide is not even an option in this matter at all. take it like a man and learn from it.
some people were not rusticated but they had 4 extra years as a result of carryovers, today they have moved on.
Think about it, if u make the best use of those 2 years, u will be the hottest motivational speaker in town in years to come.

You should have been more careful because it is final year exam. Village people are usually in high alert I those times.
Use 2 years learn a good skill you have passion for. It is not the end of life, in fact, be prepared for more challenges. It is the way of life
