You don't understand. True it happened before then but Fubara hasn't shown true cause to reconcile those issues. It is like someone who was accused of stealing. The issues are still there and could be used against him. Remember there is a subsisting judgement that Fubara should re-present budget. Has he done it ? No. This guy can go back to the court to ask for Rivers State allocation to stop. This is not Wike at all but Fubara not knowing his weakness and stooping where he can't win. But Fubara doesn't know his strength and weaknesses. He only comes online to gauge his supports. Unfortunately even in Rivers State Wike has more Rivers State people on his side. Without the overwhelming support Wike enjoys , Fubara would have done away with him. Fubara online supports are not even Rivers people. They belong to a section who holds grievance for Wike for not supporting their Presidential candidate.

All the things that necessitated the previous impeachment proceedings are subsisting. We are dealing with issues of law and infractions against the constitution. Note that the governor is still continuing in the same trajectory that led to the impeachment proceedings. He didn't learn his lesson.

A state of emergency and subsequent suspension doesn't erase the governor's infractions against the constitution. However, what should have solved everything was the political agreements reached before the suspension of the state of emergency, but Fubara refused to abide by them. An unwise decision on his part, considering his infractions against the constitution.

The president couldn't have erased those infractions because he has no such legal power. That was why a political solution was needed, and if Fubara had abided by the agreements, he wouldn't be facing another impeachment proceedings now.

Rivers people are tired of the crisis. Fubara and his deputy should just resign. Same Fubara said his spirit has left the Government House. He should go. His words can never be trusted.

The impeachment can only succeed with the connivance of PBAT. The Governor simply needs to make sure the complex is only accessible to the lawmakers loyal to him.
