Medvedev can't be like Putin. It's not just about being ruthless. There is a kind of Respect Putin commands especially in Russia, it's not something that can be replaced overnight.

I was reading Kaja Kalla's post earlier today regarding Russia's Oreshnik strike. She essentially said EU should dig deeper into their air-defence stocks and deliver air defence systems to Ukraine. She is obviously clueless and doesn't know realise that there's currently no air defence system that can intercept the Oreshnik. I was wondering how EU deemed her the best candidate for EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. She's also the Vice President of the European Commission. My God she's so so du/mb.

OGA, YOU ARE THE ONE THAT SHOULD DO YOUR REAEARCH. The oreshnik cant be stopped by any air defense system, if it can, please let me know the system. Even before russia will use that oreshnik, it will first of all inform USA, about 3 hours before launch so that american sensor wont sense as a nuclear capable ballistic missile. sensors will detect it, but it cant be stopped because it comes at mach 10 speed, faster than sound.

Russia did lose lots of tanks, but that's because of their initial reliance on old world war 2 military tactics. They've now learned new tricks of warfare with cheap drones and loitering munitions.

They've basically rewritten the rules of modern warfare that NATO is now rushing to adapt to. NATO sent Leopard and Abrams tanks that have been decimated too. If and when Russia really gets to the point of fighting NATO, you can bet that tanks and ground invasion won't happen. It'll be tactical and strategic nuclear annihilation, delivered via artillery, drones and hypersonic missiles.

Yes, they've depleted many arms they can't easily replenish. While they're depending on their old doctrine created since the 1950s, Russia is using the war to build and test advanced weapons like hypersonic missiles and drone warfare. Russia has learned a lot from this war, while many in the NATO alliance have little battlefield experience since the 2nd world war.
