Cameroon lacks a hustling and a pacy striker
Cameroon lacks a tricky winger
Cameroon lacks a defense splitting midfielder

even with ojoro, players in the above shape should be able to hold down Morocco

These trio Ndidi, Onyeka and Adams may not start together against Algeria.

Both or One of Chukwueze and Onyedika might start.

Chelle the mysterious man. cool

I have. But beyond that I also notice Morocco could not score against Cameroon from open play. Both goals have been from setpieces. A FK and a Corner. If Cameroon defended setpieces well enough, this game would still be goalless.

Remember DRC also beat them via a setpiece during the African playoffs. Setpiece is Cameroon's bane.
I agree too. But I sha think it’s because Morocco’s attackers are individually prolific.

I was surprised when the guys on the hindsight podcast mentioned it in their latest edition that our players were fearful in that match against Congo.

That day, it was that fear that I saw in our players eyes that made me give up.
One of the reasons I'm wary about this Algeria fixture. These set of Super Eagles players are not just hard to motivate, they fold easily too when the occasion is massive.

Against Ghana in 2022
Against CIV in 2024
Against DRC last year

i really wish it was Morocco we are facing…walai i prefer this Morocco…even with ref ojoro…i never see wetin you go do to stop a beast Osimhen/Akor and tricky Lookman/Chukwueze from penetrating this defense…there is no way Iwobi wont see space to puncture their defense with passes
So this is likely the kind of rubbish officiating we will face if we win tomorrow? grin

Ndidi and Onyeka coz of the yellows, I can understand but Ndidi is gonna lead the team out.

Why Adams?

Cameroon despite being short of ideas on what to do, unable to cope with the pressure, was openly robbed by biased officiating
I give up on CAF

That’s where experience comes in. I hope our experienced players carries the team. Ndidi, chuks. Simon and Iwobi are key now at this stage.
Non of our players have guts.

But seriously so far in this competition our boys have played with more confidence than what we saw against Congo and I expect nothing less in their match tomorrow. The coach too by now am sure knows all the players better now on individual basis and will unleash the best of them on the pitch tomorrow.

Cameroon had no single shot on target, that has to be a new AFCON record for a quarterfinal game.

Most of the calls are not genuine fouls.
The shove in the back of Brahim Diaz was unnecessary. It was a 2 vs 1 situation, and he wouldn't have done anything with the ball.

It was the the free kick resulting from that foul that led to Morocco's second goal.

Did anyone just witnessed how the Maroc free kick taker placed the ball far from the ref marked spot? Then removed the ref's foam to his desired spot.

O'boy grin
No be today. Players dey do that one wella.

Prior to the Congo game they played with admirable confidence.
Even at the AFCON 23, before the final, they played with confidence. At the final, they folded like a used napkin.

is Chukwueze a joke to you?😊, even Lookman sef will use his individual brilliance signature moves to burst into this Moroccan defense on a regular…even as Moses Simon is gradually losing his peak.. once a while Simon go chop this defense with tricky moves
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by lexyman(m): 10:18pm On Jan 09
Unfortunately, I didn’t watch the entire match. I followed it from kickoff to the end of the first half, and then again from the 75th minute to full time. From what I saw, Cameroon didn’t have the capacity to beat that Moroccan side. Morocco were in full control and simply enjoyed themselves throughout the game.

Yhe Algerians are likely to sit mid-block and deny us access centrally early. Where we have Lookman. And when the game is tight and compact early, a pure box striker like Adams and Osimhen can get isolated. It will make more sense to start with a fluid front line, create overloads, progression from wide areas. and pull Algeria out of position which was why i feel Chelle might deploy Chukwueze tomorrow.

So you saying we may go 4-3-3? I refer to the introduction of Chukwueze for Adams while keeping Lookman. So is that it?

Algeria will not seat back , they play attacking football , they will come out and play because they have some good wingers ... we will outscore them ... a repeat of what happened in 2 years ago , but this time we are winning
