In the wake of continuous conflicts between the Binis and the Ijaws of Midsouth Nigeria, the advocacy body, Otu Notedoghewii, Group for the Protection of Benin Land, reproduced an interview granted its Chairman around 2017 to set many things in order

Pastor Festus Osayemwenre Egharevba , the leader of the organization is worried that the recent claim by the Ijaws that many Benin communities including his village, Obazuwa, listed as part of a proposed Toru-Ibe State belong to them is false and mischievous.

Ijaws own the entire south, the binis can only be found in one state and they're the minority there..

The Binis cannot defeat Ijaws. The Ijaws will use machineries from Bayelsa, Ondo etc to fight while while the Yoruba will never join Bini like it is in ancient times

The Binis have dissociated themselves from their brothers, now they're alone. They will surely lose their tiny land to the Ijaws.

If they drop their pride and come back home, they will be assisted.
