What is your problem with my post ? If I give people false hope it is official . You can inturn give people true hope. Do you have anything to gain in my post ? I give out the information directly from the U.S embassy. I also have thousands of people out there. No one can take me as a dummy on a facial forum.

To the general applicants, anyone who cannot enter the United States right now , will also not be able to enter ... Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand. Besides, majority of the European or Schengen schools and visa process are worst that that of the United States.

Therefore , continue with your admission and visa process. Trump is not fighting Nigerians, he is fighting the terrorists in collaboration with the Nigerian government.

The ongoing temporary visa ban is nothing other than higher version of visa applicant screenings and background checks.
Thank goodness you said it’s an ongoing temporary ban and that they should continue their admission process and also explore other countries. Don’t be advising people to be going to interview when there is a temporary ban. Tell them the correct thing and what will improve their chances which is what I am doing.

“Go to interview una” when people are collecting rejection upandan with letter citing the proclamation. You are still pushing them to go. If you are reading this, just have other options but still pursue your us admission process. As for visa, hold on for now and see what unfolds on or before June to take your decision. You have 99% of getting rejected currently. Shalom

Your question is not clear but if you mean travelling on a visa that will expire soon travel. If it is going for interview go

InvestorHalal:
I don't if F2 WHOSE husband is already studying in US can go. Date already book to January 26 before the proclamation news. I don't know if she can give it a try. Reschedule to July is no option because their visa (her and 2 kids) would have reached a year, and hence expired.

What do you think?
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by chibertha(f):
Good luck, just that Canada doesn't have as many schools compared to the USA

Ose2988:
Am also doing same, I have sent up to 80 mails so far, 2 responded that they are not taking students at the moment. Still waiting for the rest

Anyone on 221g for H1b visa and got approval lately
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by chibertha(f): 4:25pm On Jan 07
While it is good to communicate with your school of choice—especially if you have already paid application fees—it is important to understand that no school will reject an applicant solely because of the ban. Instead, schools may reach out to admitted students (who are yet to get visas) and request that they defer enrollment to a later semester.

Vanjori:
Read to understand. I still stand on what I said. All prospective students who has summited an application to a US university before the visa ban should reach out to them before they contact an applicant themselves. Many applications are being declined due to lack of communication. When this visa issue started, the first thing I did was to contact schools I have not gotten an offer from. I explained to them the current situation (even though I know they are aware) and while some school said they will consider my application, others said they will consider my application for the next semester and I do not need to apply again to them.

Now it will shock you that most of my guys who refused to contact them were sent an email saying due to the visa issues, their application cannot be considered. Communication is key. In situations like this you need to communicate.

Don't go ahead telling people to disregard communicating with their school, you will be doing them more harm than good.

I know someone on 221g for H4. Visa interview was on the 31st of December and they took the passport. Status hasn't changed online since then.

People with valid visas are still coming into the US as we speak, just that there is extra scrutiny in some cases
SimpleGuy001:
It seems you guys are expecting magic. Even if approved (highly unlikely). How will border control let you in?

Visit Visit to the United States is now at least $5,000 to $15,000

A bond does not guarantee Approval!!

Don’t play

Is it not too early to reach out to them? What would the reason for reaching out to them be?

I know someone who has been on 221g for H-1B since October and hasn't been approved nor denied. I also know someone who was on 221g in the same October and was approved just 1 week after. I think the employer is the issue. If it's an employer that has filed for H-1B several times, it could be easier. if the employer is fairly new in the biz, it could result in long vetting periods..

You can only reach out after 60 days with no response.

They introduced social media vetting for H-1B and H4 on December 15th, 2025, which is probably the reason for the slight delay, added with the holidays. The fact they collected the passport is already positive; they will issue it pending if they don't find anything of concern on the social media. I was placed on 221g when I applied for my H4 in October last year and they likewise collected my passport. Before I got home from the interview, the status had already changed to approved. Fingers crossed, it will be approved.

That is different actually. Proclamation never stopped those who have valid visa. It’s about those not yet approved I was referring to..

Wow! 221g for a year is a long time, though. Your I-797 approval notice is usually for an initial 3 years, which means 1 year is already gone. Please contact the embassy to find out the update, as you can reach out to them after 60 days without hearing from them.

Ignore the advice above. Odds of getting approved is extremely low. I’ll say 99%,,, I wonder why embassy is still collecting people’s money, denying them and giving people rejection with proclamation as basis..

Put yourself in a better position to be approved, than go in when the odds are already skewed against you, chill small and see what plays out until June end. Strategize but not blindly especially when your chances of approval and monetary resources are at risk.

Take this advice seriously if you are a first timer (referring specifically to F1 visas)

This is a fabricated transcript. A consular officer asking you how many people are at attendance on your wedding day 😀. Plus there is a travel ban restricting Nigerians.

You are just looking for all avenues to create fear.

Nigerians with visa appointment should keep attending their interviews. The situation is not bad as it is being painted by some negative propagandists.
I posted my interview transcript to get advice on how to forge ahead and reapply. I did not post it for people like you and I have no time to engage you.

Based on the current proclamation 10998 they would not be able to issue you visa under the partial nan.
F2 circumstances would probably not qualify for the exemptions of the proclamation.
I'd say you can reapply if you get a date after June 2026 and by then we'd know if the ban would reversed.

Now the recent visa bond for B1/B2 that includes Nigeria might be a possibility but I don't know how this works for Nigeria since visa issuance is banned, that I'm not clear about
By next week I'll confirm, it might help in your case.

Any idea about H4 processing times in this era of social media vetting?
