Dannyxy:we really made them play nothing, total dominance from us, plus akor would have made the difference if he had converted that ball |

If the boys remain calm, the goals will surely come. We are doing really well so far. |

I really dislike how wasteful we were in front of goal, Osimhen and Adams being the chief culprits. Na Adams own dey vex me pass. That is how we played Mozambique and he wasted at least 3 chances at goal, then scored towards the end of the game. If you talk now, you will see Peller pontificating how much of a “hard worker” he is. All work and no goals, will not give you 3 points. Na so dem use “hard worker” wound my ear when we had Ideye as a front man. Hard worker wey dey miss clear chances no dey as useful as smart worker wey dey score goals. Hopefully, the second half produces goals and we don’t regret these missed chances. We should easily be 2 goals up at the very least at half time. |

I think the intensity the boys started with, leading to the two Yellow cards, helped to demoralize the algerians... THE GOALS WILL COME AND IT IS BEGINNING TO RAIN |

I'll be gutted if we don deck these guys, we absolutely dominated them in that half and missed some unacceptable chances. |

But damn, not many of us expected this game to be one sided like this.. Kudos to Chelle and the boys... We need to score early . Algeria haven't had a single shot all game, but they are still a dangerous side... |

Solid first half. Only thing missing is the go ahead goal. Akor's 1v1 miss and Bassey's effort cleared off the line were the closest we came to a goal. We will get it eventually. On Osimhen, it is not his fault that he has struggled to get some shots off today. Most times when the ball comes, he is under immense pressure and close markings but there 2 particular occasions where I feel he might have done better. But note... he has been policed and even though he has tried escaping the Algerian backline, they stay on him long enough for Zidane to get the ball. And, Iwobi has not been man marked. Rather the Algerians have sat too deep cutting off the passing lanes Iwobi would frequently exploit. This is why it seems folks may not be seeing Iwobi's magic. He has still pulled off more forward passes than anyone in the first half and it wont stop. Some of those passes led to the couple chances we mustered. Bright Osayi Samuel. He has been near 100% perfect. Solid in defence as he has not been dribbled at all. He has not been beaten for pace. He has also been dangerous for us getting forward. His ball carries has helped progess our offensive transitions. His duels have been won 4/5 times. He has also helped in possession recoveries. Brilliant first half. Nigeria have been dominant. Algeria have not had a sniff of our goal but we have to watch it in the 2nd 45 and try maintain the front foot tempo we executed that first half with. I know the goal will come and Zidane will crack. |

CapitalCee:I guessed that’s why the goal line clearance stuff was not given though from what I saw the whole ball didn’t cross the line |

COOL10:Osihmen was against not passing to somebody in a better position to score. He wasn't saying he must be the person to pass all the time. Osimhen normally applauds any player that gets into good goal scoring chances and goes for goal. He is only against not releasing the ball to a better place player whether he is the one that is better placed or not. Like I said, if the person with the ball is better placed then he should take it and he will be applauded by Osimhen. |
