during (long) holidays, there often are buildUp of works which often results to backLogs hence needing extra time to finish up since they try to attending to thing on firstComeFirstServe basis. Just be a little patient, things would even out.

This remains one of the reasons why I tell people to only fund accounts or perform certain operations during business days and when we didn't just come out of holidays / long weekend.

Still don't understand why they have refused automating most of this tasks.

Once again, be patient

I haven't received stanbic MMF payout for 4th quarter, does it usually take this long?
is this your first time ?

Mind you, we're yet to get to first quarter for the year 2026.

Also we're just out of long holidays hence lots of backLog of work for them to process. Be patient or give them a call.

What of wealth buddy,I'm using it or do I switch to cardinalstone
EquityM:
CardinalStone is doing well for now; despite the market being sluggish this week, I'm still making gains. Nevertheless, the decision is in your hand.
Re: Mutual Funds by Nobody: 8:40am On Jan 10
CardinalStone is better. Start with 50 or 100k.

Yes I do MMF, may be I will contact my bank Stanbic IBTC bank to put me on their mailing list for secondary market FGN bond offers.

Actually I am thinking of FGN bond because it's easy to get loan with it as collateral. Will fixed income fund investment quality as collateral for loan.

It's not like I need any loan now but positioning myself to be qualified for one in future as opportunities come up.

Diversify your portfolio, bro. I currently invest in equity, fixed income, balanced funds, and MMF. Equity and fixed income have been giving tremendous gains.

Stanbic MMF at 15.63% is not encouraging at all. I currently have 176M naira in it. I am contemplating moving to a different asset manager.

MMF is not cash deposit. It's the underlying asset which is Tbills that has the full weight of the federal government. NDIC is for cash not investment.

The safety of MMF is on the fact that the major underlying asset is Tbills and the funds have SEC regulated managers. Read more of my posts from page 418 to current page for more clarity on safety of MMF investment.

To be frank, 2 million plus monthly returns isn't bad at 15.63% percent, at that rate of returns, you earn more than 80% of Nigerians working 9-5 jobs.

I know your fear, which is — what happens if Stanbic rate falls lower, that your 2 million plus returns monthly can't be guaranteed. That's your fear.

First, let me calm you down, by telling you that; Don't get too worked up about MMF rates, rather, see the good in it, which is easing inflation. The less of inflation which CBN is trying to get under control, the more purchasing power your money will have or would you rather rates gets increased every month and your millions and accrued interests becomes worthless like Zimbabwe type inflation — lol — your millions will be worth trillions but can't buy bread.

Secondly, Don't get too worried about falling rates because, MPC knows what they are doing when they converge. I know they also know one undeniable fact which is: They can cut rate but they can NEVER cut rate below basis points that will stop making Nigeria fixed income investment less attractive to foreign investors. (I can bet my last Naira on this fact), If they try that... A lot will go wrong and FX will take the fall, so CBN can't risk that, this is why you should relax your mind.

Thirdly — sorry, running out of time, I will come back to complete this third point. Need to attend to something else now.

I just applied for FBN Quest and senf in some funds to put something on the MMF going for 4 days and I kept receiving the same canned message from FBN quest:

Compliments of the season!

This is to acknowledge your email and evidence of payment.

Please be informed that your funds will be booked accordingly upon confirmation.

Thank you for choosing First Asset Management

Kind Regards,

Please has anyone experienced tbis before?
I paid into the CITI Bank account but this canned message is making it look like scam already.

I also said it here few weeks ago a lot of people are using these things like it's MMM / HYIP but dem tackle me like say I no know wetin I talk

Lol Oga mi, you should understand that we Nigerians don't joke with our money.

You instantly become a red flag once a Nigerian senses you have a different opinion to whatever that has been working for them expecially when money is involved.

It's the same with Religion, Once a Christian senses you saying things that questions their believe in the existence of God, you immediately become a threat to them.

That's how human reacts.

But your see this money chase ehhh, No one is usually wrong with how they invest or investment strategy, the only sad part is, it's not taught in school.

That's why we have to continue to help ourselves and continue to share opposing views.

Thanks for the work you do here by the way.
Re: Mutual Funds by Nobody: 8:52pm On Jan 10
Sorry, bro. Equity is like buying stocks. However, the stocks are bought on your behalf by CardinalStone. E.g., Gtco, Aradel, Seplat, Buafood, and high-yield dividend stocks. When these stocks rise, you earn money everyday, when the stocks go down, you lose some money. However, some stocks do better than others, so it is unlikely to lose your capital. The interesting part is that you get dividends from these stocks annually apart from the capital gains. To make a profit, you need to invest at least 50 to 100k to fight off losses. At present my capital is 8m, so my weekly profit can fight off few losses. In a week (trading is 5days) you might earn profit in 3 days and losses in 2 days, a little dip. However, the profit usually beats the losses. This week I only lost 12,000 naira and made 200,000 naira. You can withdraw your money at anytime if the market goes south.
