[quote author=TheSuperNerd post=138091584]@emboldened... At halftime, I said Iwobi will keep doing what he is doing. He will find that gap and he did brilliantly for Nigeria's 2nd goal.

The Algerians were too careful in the 1st half and sometimes lucky when some of Iwobi's final third line breakers didnt punish them.

Iwobi, take your huge flowers for consistently probing and exploiting the gaps in between the Algerian midfield-defensive lines and the half spaces especially on the medial left side. A true Eagle Eye.

And let me that defensively, Iwobi put it his best defensive shift of the Afcon so far today. Kudos Iwobinho!

They were desperate to get a goal, they forgot the initial plan of marking out Iwobi. And it created more space for thorough balls...
Same against previous opponents

Ndidi was booked for time wasting abi? Though he was injured and didn't even return to finish the game, the referee erred on that one I believe.
Meanwhile some Algerian fans dey claim dem bribe referee against them. Was that a handball against Ajayi in the 1st half?
Looks like but we too can make a claim on that goal line clearance so it’s balanced make Algeria go sleep jor dem for collect like four sef but for Akor Adams wasteful chances

from the first whistle they looked scared and uncomfortable
It is how we played.

They gave us too much space.

What they ought to do is to press and be aggressive like DRC did to us and you will....make I no expose...

I think it is the Finidi George, Jay Jay Okocha and Kanu Nwankwo celebration against Tunisia (our 4:2 win) in GHANA/NIGERIA 2000 AFCON. I stand to be corrected.

Let me post this stat before Egypt vs CIV starts. grin

Nigeria catches Egypt on 63 Afcon games wins

🇳🇬 Nigeria (63) is now the nation with the most wins in the history of the Africa Cup of Nations, tied with Egypt.

The Dominants.

Possibly Chuckwueze or Simon should replace Lookman in starting XI since he is the major issue...again Lookman caused us not to whitewash Algeria just like he failed us by not adding more goals against Mozambique.... complain complain...beating Algeria una think say na moi moi...all the players played perfectly well today....Lookman deficiency showed more than his good work?even Chelle will not agree with you so far in this tournament

I am not talking about the tournament but this game. I am also being constructive of how Lookman can improve on what he has done so far.

There is always room for improvement and Lookman improving in his transition will see us even perform better and Lookman scoring more.

Finito.

Those people from the core northern part of Nigeria who were celebrating the day Algeria defeated us due to religion, I wonder how they feel today. Sifia pain has landed on them, SA, Ghana etc.

What is wrong is always wrong but we still love him even though we spanked him for the unnecessary spat with Mola and his decision to start strolling on the pitch calling to be subbed

He redeemed himself massively today making us sparkle against our big foe
pointing out his wrongs and constructively correcting him is fair, but turning it into hatred as some people did here was very bad, some people even clamoured for him to be dropped to the bench.

Knowing the kind of dramatics " the north Africans do when it comes to football, Nigeria should expect the worst in terms of theatrics, tantrums and lopsided officiating against Morocco on Wednesday . Tunisia 2004 semifinal comes to mind.
