Bright Osayi Samuel should take a bow. He was just outstanding. Absorbed pressure like a sponge. Showed strength and skill. Balanced offensive and defensive play.
He was tremendous. It was clear that the Algerians intended to play through his wing but he stood firm like a rock of Gibraltar. His forward runs were a delight to see. Above all he was calm and composed.

I've been one if not his fiercest critic but I give him his flowers and I eat humble pie.

Yan Diomande's wicked ball finally brings CIV back. Come on fight! You may be young upfront but u have the quality against this Egyptian side.

Still wary of the inexperience factor though but nice fightback CIV. Dont stop there for goodness sake. Stay on the front foot in their bloody half.

HT Egypt 2-1 CIV.

Egypt now has 183 Afcon goals.

CIV now climbs to 161 goals at the Afcon, 1 above Nigeria's 160 which we attained today.

i thought I was the only that feels Osimhen should have square that ball much earlier. It's all football, easier to analyse and say what and what a player should have done while on the pitch.
Na so but I didn't criticise him for that. However, I am against cherry picking and bias when analyzing.

That was exactly what goodjoe did. He ignored some part and focused on only one part.

I don't think the freekeickthat led to CIV's goal was a FK in my opinion. But great game so far.

Thought same, but Iwobi won't leave that 17.

Akor Adams

What makes this guy special is his cool headedness

Nothing fancy

I know many strikers (even playing for big teams) that'll miss that second goal by playing it directly to the GK
For sure.

Moses Simon is a good player, but he hasn't given any good reason why he is being chosen ahead of Samuel Chukwueze and Chidera Ejuke.

Ohhh lord! So you mean you are on this thread and you don't know that the petition is yet to be determined by FIFA? Even with all the information we dish out on this thread? Just today charlesemeka85 who is working underground for my client to be in America, posted a YouTube link addressing the stage by stage process FIFA adopts in such matters.

There is some mistake in your sentence sir. I think you meant to write Ejuke's name before Samu's own.

When Osimhen assisted Akor Adams for the 2nd goal thanks to that brilliant Iwobi through pass, please who else noticed how Lookman celebrated the goal by running to Osimhen, hyping him up.

That was the moment for me. The 2 APOTYs coming together again to acknowledge insane teamplay.
