Observation

Cc: Kog45, Mujtahida, Thesupernerd, Thegoodjoe

I discovered that alllllllll the ex players that ended up as assistant managers to a foreign coach(let me even add the local coaches too) usually end up showing they learnt nothing from their superiors regarding the game.

I can mention almost half a dozen and none of them even went on to get a better coaching experience, job with even the cadet teams. They just fade off into oblivion, go into punditry, or like finidi, make balderdash statements about formation not being important despite seeing all under Jpes. Even in the punditry, they still act like they archaic compared to their mates of their eras. I dunno

So why waste the spot? Or is the spot on the coaching crew simply ceremonial, like for nostalgic effect on the players in camp or what?

No he is not. The yellow vs Algeria was Nwabali's first of the KOs rounds. His yellow vs Tunisia from the first round has been wiped.

PDPGuy:
Nwabali is also suspended for the semifinal.. Let’s hope that Uzoho brings his A-game on Wednesday 🙏

No he's not. I saw the team sheet. He wasn't marked as players awaiting suspension if they pickup another yellow. Only 3 were marked

Ndidi
Onyeka
Bassey

Ndidi is out so the other 2 are cleared.

Senegal is experienced and the Egypt I saw tofay were lucky but went through because they were more eperienced than the Ivoirians

Senegal is the better team overall

What do you guys think?
Makes me think if there's something genetically wrong with them

But you have to remember that amuneke is a bit different, a bit better . Just a bit though

They took our football back and i don't think it's the NFF's fault in this case. Those guys just don't learn and improve. They are more interested in making money from sponsorhip deals with beverage or sports bet brands

Civ were the ones tipped to ride over Egypt but here we are. They woke up since ko started though they don't catch one's fancy

Congo played Senegal down in group stages and also played Algeria well bt Senegal and Algeria went a step ahead. We'll see sha. Senegal is more talented on pitch and bench.

I think the problem is your perspective of what you think I mean. I am always about how we can improve. With faster transitions, we would annihilate teams with more efficiency. A lot of it lies in Lookman. If he fixes this, he will excel at a high level.

Today, we saw Osimhen choose to lay the ball for Adams instead of going for goal. Wanting Lookman to be efficient at such is not a bad thing.
But you were blind to see Osimhen choose to run with the ball instead of laying the ball at his first touch. Make you dey deceive yourself there. Highest level?

I won't absolve any of them but yeah he is different cos he even got a top job prior to being assistant.

That genetic angle is worth considering though hilarious. I'll blame nff cos they give them this slot even when the said manager doesn't want them.

Naija Afcon Stats updates

🇳🇬 Nigeria has now scored 14 goals at AFCON 2025, our highest total in a single edition of the competition. We have surpassed our previous highest of 12 in 2000.

🇳🇬 Nigeria is the second nation to score at least two goals in each of its first five(5) matches at an Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) tournament, after Egypt in 1974 and 2010.

They Underestimating Osi and Akor, and paid the ultimate price, however, it was far from being a long day. Infact the day should have ended in 45 minutes!! lol!
Bossoflife25:
My only fear is, we don't know how the team will react if it concede first.

The team hasn't dealt with such situations aside the South African away game.

On twitter, the Algerians are debating our most dangerous players.

Some said Iwobi and Lookman need to be taken out, which we all know they would try to do

But when someone mentioned Ndidi and Onyeka, I became scared. It shows these guys know a lot about our team.

Shockingly, nobody mentioned Osimhen and Akor. lol!
Underestimating Osi and Akor will be their greatest undoing.

However, if they take out Iwobi, Lookman, Ndidi, and Onyeka by pressing them consistently when they have the ball, Osi and Akor might become frustrated up top.

Today is going to be a long day.
Unlike our previous opponents, Algeria has the quality wingers to harm us. Just like we have the attack to hurt them.

Osimhen must find his scoring boot today. No miss chances, no offside crap.
Every single opportunity must be put away if we are going to win today.

For God and Country! God bless the Super Eagles. God bless Nigeria!

Nations that have won their first 5 matches in a single edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon):

1990 - 🇩🇿 Algeria
2002 - 🇨🇲 Cameroon
2010 - 🇪🇬 Egypt
2012 - 🇨🇮 Ivory Coast
2025 - 🇳🇬 Nigeria🆕️

Of the 4 previous sides, 3 went on to win the Title.

De ja vu incoming.

EMPHATIC WIN!. WE TOOK THE GAME BY STORM... WE CHOKED THEM. IT WAS HELL AWAY FROM HOME. grin grin grin

Congratulations Sir Eric Chukwu Chelliolla..What a way to mark your 1 year in office as our chief coach.. you have turned thiese boys to monsters. Nigerians can't recognize them again..Nah wah!!

.....what impressed me more was our movement without the ball. So Top Notchical. It was like the boys were communicating with the ball..cos I was baffled at how they were able to correctly predict the landing of every second balls..

I also loved the way players were covering for each other's ass.
Today also showed that chelliolla learnt from the match against Tunisia... HONESTLY, THESE EAGLES ARE EVIL..THEY DON'T FEAR OR RATE ANY OPPONENT.. Even osimhen was defending like mad...

Abeg who be Morocco? They better hit the gym because the intensity our boys bring into the game will be too difficult for them to handle.... WE NO COME RUB POWDER OR DO FINE BOYOOO... THE BOYS MEAN BUSINESS...WE WILL DICTATE THE PACE OF THE GAME FROM THE FIRST WHISTLE DOWN TO THE LAST..DEM NO GO SEE SCRAPS.. OMOH THE MUSIC GO TOO LOUD BECAUSE WE THRIVE IN CAOS...

NAH PURE AFRICAN JOLLOF mixed WITH A TOUCH OF PHYSICALITY & spiced with so much skills and perfectionist mentality... MOROCCO ARE OUT IN NORMAL TIME

Congratulations!

I am not satisfied with the answer I have gotten so far from this thread

Why did Mali not hold on to chelle? He's the only thing NFF has gotten correct in decades.

Who advised NFF to go for chelle? Because those guys are too dumb to recognise coaching talent when it's staring them in their face. Someone with actual working brains must have lent NFF some of his functioning brain to make that decision

There are some things I just need to understand

He is a joker. Many jokers are here. That's why I don't come here too often again because here is full of sentiments and bias. Some don't think straight. Just wan their player to play but do so by slandering another player.

It was here I read SE doesn't score more than 2 goals whenever Lookman plays. Lookman is selfish. He doesn't pass. Chuks is better than him behind 2 strikers. And so so many horrible takes.

the clip evidence. Ref Issa Sy did us no favors on that call coz there was no penalty in the first place. He was just fair to both sides. It is the Algerians looking for someone to blame when they literally played nothing.

Even their fans who saw the game know their team played Absolute Zero, Nothing, Zilch.

The Egypt vs Senegal Semis rematch of the Afcon 2021 Final (held in 2022) is gonna be quite the cracker.

Salah vs Mane again. 🔥

Here is a stat that gives it deeper context. The two most decisive players at the Afcon in the last 10 yrs come up against each other.

Turned out to be the best man for Nigeria, I genuinely can't see a way NFF won't extend his contract permanently at this point, except they are just so stupid to lose such an asset...they should just pay the man whatever he's owed and give him an attractive contract.

There was nothing biased about what TheGoodJoe wrote abi Lookman. He simply said like Lookman will be more lethal if he releases the ball on time. He has stressed that his intervention was on how Lookman can improve his game and that's fair enough because it sounds like what a good coach would tell a talented player.

The problem is that Kog45 and now you, think TheGoodJoe is condemning or criticizing Lookman and I objectively don't think that that was TheGoodJoe's point of view.
