I am not satisfied with the answer I have gotten so far from this thread

Why did Mali not hold on to chelle? He's the only thing NFF has gotten correct in decades.

Who advised NFF to go for chelle? Because those guys are too dumb to recognise coaching talent when it's staring them in their face. Someone with actual working brains must have lent NFF some of his functioning brain to make that decision

There are some things I just need to understand

Cc thesupernerd, mujtahida, thegoodjoe
Chelle in his earliest interview upon being appointed stated that coaching Nigeria has always been his dream.

Mali now sacked him. Finidi effed up. There was a vacancy and the rest his history

Mali fired him because they struggled in their WCQs when he was coach. However, they asked him to come back but he refused. Now as to who recommended him, that one, I no know.

Nations with the most own goals in the history of the Africa Cup of Nations:

4- 🇪🇬 EGYPT
3- 🇧🇫 Burkina Faso
3- 🇩🇿 Algeria
3- 🇹🇳 Tunisia

With Egypt's own goal vs CIV in their 3-2 win, they now top this stat.

'Appreciate the clip evidence. Ref Issa Sy did us no favors on that call coz there was no penalty in the first place. He was just fair to both sides. It is the Algerians looking for someone to blame when they literally played nothing.

Even their fans who saw the game know their team played Absolute Zero, Nothing, Zilch.
There was one one Algerian fan the camera caught gesticulating that money had exchanged hands. The BEIN commentator spoke about it.

Mujtahida:
There was nothing biased about what TheGoodJoe wrote abi Lookman. He simply said like Lookman will be more lethal if he releases the ball on time. He has stressed that his intervention was on how Lookman can improve his game and that's fair enough because it sounds like what a good coach would tell a talented player.

The problem is that Kog45 and now you, think TheGoodJoe is condemning or criticizing Lookman and I objectively don't think that that was TheGoodJoe's point of view.

Forgiveness you like reading post through the eyes of your own preconceived notion of the motives of others. Clean your mind and eyes. It will help you

Apparently, you are trying to interpret thegoodjoe's bias analyses. How can you see other players playing the same but you single out one player to improve his game?

Are you telling me the other players don't need improvement?

Maybe you think everybody are dun.ce but I am not. I can read through comments. This is not preconceived notion. These are written and posted here that can be presented as facts.. No call dog monkey for me. Abeg.

Abi, you no dey here when some claimed SE can't score more that 2 goals whenever Lookman plays or he is not good behind 2 strikers? No lie you didn't see that.

Mali started their World Cup qualifier poorly, lost at home to Ghana and drew Comoros away, there’s a video where a Malian journalist told him to resign because he’s not good enough, few days later he was fired. Nigeria hired him because they were looking for a cheap coach who knows African football so I guess he fits what they wanted

🇨🇮 Ivory Coast's 3-2 loss vs Egypt sees them suffer their first knockout defeat at the Africa Cup of Nations outside of penalty shootouts since February 3, 2013 against Nigeria.

Nations with the longest unbeaten streaks in the history of the Africa Cup of Nations:

- 🇪🇬 Egypt 24 matches (February 2004-February 2017)
- 🇳🇬 Nigeria 16 matches (January 1992-February 2002)
- 🇸🇳 Senegal 16 matches (since January 2022)
- 🇪🇬 Egypt 15 matches (since January 2022)

Now Egypt and Senegal are on collison course... One must cave in.

Observation

Cc: Kog45, Mujtahida, Thesupernerd, Thegoodjoe

I discovered that alllllllll the ex players that ended up as assistant managers to a foreign coach(let me even add the local coaches too) usually end up showing they learnt nothing from their superiors regarding the game.

I can mention almost half a dozen and none of them even went on to get a better coaching experience, job with even the cadet teams. They just fade off into oblivion, go into punditry, or like finidi, make balderdash statements about formation not being important despite seeing all under Jpes. Even in the punditry, they still act like they archaic compared to their mates of their eras. I dunno

So why waste the spot? Or is the spot on the coaching crew simply ceremonial, like for nostalgic effect on the players in camp or what?

Where is Yobo today?

What do you guys think?
They are all arrogant people who feel because they played the game at the highest level they can’t submit themselves to proper learning I mean an amokachi was assistant to even keshi how come he’s not even good enough to be producing the kind of results Chelle is producing. What they do mostly is to criticise the current generation of players to make it look as if no one else can be better. Honestly I am ashamed on their behalf.

“Do I have to tell the truth or should I be political [about the match]? Nigeria deserved to win this match. They were better than us. It was difficult to get into this match… We were hit left and right…”

Below is my post on Iwobi during the Tunisian game.

TheGoodJoe:
Iwobi is pulling a brilliant shift with his running but he needs to increase his long passing level. If he can keep falling deep to the deep lying playmaker role and get his long passes right, we will rip these Tunisians to shreds. A lot lies on Iwobi.

Iwobi should scan for spaces and stop trying to thread tight passes. In the words of Tuchel, there is always space. Iwobi needs to spend more time finding spaces.
In the game against Mozambique, there was a sharp increase Iwobi's long pass game.

I only try to see where there needs improvement and Lookman increasing his transition frequency will work in the team and his favor. There was no bias at all.

Eric Chelle left the Malian Job because the Malian FA was trying to impose players on him. Even the Malian President tried to intervene but Chelles mind was made up. Eric Chelle was the front runner before Finidi was appointed (USA 94 players influenced the sports minister then). Give Eguavoen and the Technical Committee Kudos where it is due. There were only about 4 of us on this forum who supported his appointment then. We saw what we are enjoying now..

But this kind take sha..
Literally singled out a player after such team performance??..habba
TheGoodJoe:
Lookman was sound but I think his deficiency showed more than his good work.

Lookman seems not to fully grasp the role.

On many occasions he tried to do things himself. His offensive play should come after transition, not before. There were times he released the ball late and times to pass he held the ball. Lookman fixes this and the team gets even stronger.

Expect Chelle to iron this with Lookman. Get the ball to the attackers fast and then join them in the attack.
