Hygiene and sanitation standards are paramount in the kitchen. We often think our own kitchen at home is where we can tolerate some unsafe food safety practices. However, food safety, hygiene and sanitation should be adhered to in all settings (industrial kitchens, production areas and homes). In Nigeria, we have a long way to go in terms of awareness of food safety management systems. I hope this awareness spreads to low-income and rural areas as well, not just in city centres. |

Nothing we no go hear or read. When the fundamental principles are lost, different things will come up. Lol. But the same life our fore-fathers live na is this life we are presently living. The question is: why the explosion of infections and even super high rate of resistances to antibiotics now? This is the main areas these people should face instead of doing "pash pash". But their greediness to make profit won't make them direct researches to answer these questions. Lol. If we have good bacteria in our food, do we need to worry about them carrying such to our kitchen? Yes, they should even transfer them everywhere and we will be OK because they are beneficial. Water, sponges, amd bla bla bla they want to be applying chemicals everytime now will be the same carrier of these beneficial microbes na. And we will be very alright. Even our toilets will have good bacteria to fight off the bad ones. This is the case of people who lived before us. The population of beneficial bacteria outnumbered that of pathogens in the past. Now, that of pathogens have outnumbered them. So, what are we talking about? In those days where they used just water to wash everything....no wahala na. But now...una go use alcohol based disinfectant, antibiotics, antifungal, boosters here and there, and yet, getting worse. Goodluck to everyone! Lol. |
| Re: Kitchen Sinks Harbor More Bacteria Than Toilets, Scientists Discover by chibuikejohn: 8:14am On Jan 11 |
That depends on the toilet you are talking about and the kitchen sink. |
| Re: Kitchen Sinks Harbor More Bacteria Than Toilets, Scientists Discover by galantjoe(m): 8:24am On Jan 11 |

fapcrook:You are very much on point, several years ago, i saw a report about how contaminated a computer keyboard is, dirtier than a toilet seat, another states how dirtier most children water bottles are than mentioned. Dirty in terms of microbes oh, Shocking but true |
| Re: Kitchen Sinks Harbor More Bacteria Than Toilets, Scientists Discover by VeeVeeMyLuv(f): 8:46am On Jan 11 |
The remedy is to evacuate and clean the pipe of the kitchen sink every 1 to 3 months. Once a month is event better. Not leaving the thing to build up or pile up, for a whole year! Haba! |
| Re: Kitchen Sinks Harbor More Bacteria Than Toilets, Scientists Discover by Originalsly: 8:50am On Jan 11 |
zinaunreal:Do you know the keyboard carries more germs than a toilet seat? .. especially those used by the public? Even you open doors...do you wash your hands after? ...but you be pressing keys. After using the toilet do you wash your hands? ...but you be pressing keys. After handling money...do you wash your hands? ..but you be pressing keys. Then you be going grabbing stuff to eat .When last did you sanitize or even clean your keyboard? "You can take th n horse to the water but you can't make it drink." |
