Baba, if Lookman has three goals and someone makes a suggestion on what would improve Lookman's game, I don't think that suggestion specifically stems from bias. I think you are reading TheGoodJoe's comments through the prism of our conversation on the Osimhen - Lookman spat.
Oh thegoodjoe analytical views wasn't based on spat between Osimhen and Lookman but mine was based on that abi... you didn't see transition issue in the last four matches but against Algeria transition issue came up,do you judged a player who has been phenomenal like that...see the law if you see me responding to the same issue constantly I know wetin I dey talk...I don rest the matter... it's all for eagles.... thegoodjoe dey amongst people I respect here o

Iwobi should just stay in Fulham where he's a guaranteed starter. He's 29. Pata pata if a better EPL club comes, he can move
At 29 Iwobi need more money, winning Afcon would be a plus for him,If Saudi Arabia money comes he should grab it

You come dey press him neck like the way we choke Algeria.

Moving on:

Baba, people have commented on how Osimhen was clapping rather than complaining for the efforts his teammates made to find him.

I think that's a positive outcome of that on-field wahala. He must have been told to encourage his teammates rather than complain. And is it not fitting that it was Bruno who caused the wahala that gave him that assist?
Naso thegoodjoe dey press person neck nau abi you know thegoodjoe the blue man

Better take Elyte89 to one of Uganda, Sudan, Mali, Botswana, Equatorial Guinea or even Benin to replace Rohr. The coaching reins will be vacant in at least one of these nations within the next few months.

Chelle is here to stay. Truidstarr and Bankygee don sign the extension before the extension.

Mujtahida:
Be careful. Last warning

And we are paying him 55k per month and that one self isn't regularly paid...

I doubt NFF will want to offer him a bigger contract except the Federal government or some sponsor will be willing to pay for it...Cus Peseiro was demanding something around 100k per month that made NFF not to retain him...

Anyway, it's the monetary advantage that will make Chelle pick a team like Tunisia over Mali, because very few African countries (Morocco, Ivory Coast, Senegal) have a larger pool of talents than Nigeria as it stands
I think the most attractive NT jobs in CAF are:

Tier 1
Morocco - good talent pool, competent FA, resurgent footballing success, will be at the 26 WC
Senegal - very deep talent pool, especially some of their highly regarded youth. Will be at the 26 WC
CIV - deep talent pool as well, will be at the 26 WC

Tier 1.5
Nigeria - deep talent pool, one of the biggest names in CAF. However, no 26 WC and the NFF is a joke
Cameroon - decent talent pool, massive name in CAF. No 26 WC, FecaFoot is unpredictable

At least Amunike won u-17 and discovered Osimhen and Chukwueze, Eguavoen gave Lookman and Bassey their first caps, Oliseh gave Iwobi his first cap but Finidi was really poor (and it pains me cos I like him)
i was expecting you to say Finidi gave Temu his first cap 😂

They better give IWOBI mvp when we win the trophy for fairness sake
Every build up comes through him
CAF will want to give Lookman or Osimhen for popularity sake
The CAF technical team should strictly give the chief orchestrator of everything
Esther Okoronkwo didn't get player of the tournament or CAF player of the year lol
Nigeria have two strong potential for MVP and it's Osimhen and Lookman..Iwobi need goals to compete and remember Mikel lost it to Patsil of Burkina Faso,Mikel with a goal would have won it but I want Osimhen to get the golden boot

If Eyte89 is serious I guarantee him Nigeria youths national team coach but must get at least NIS certificate not coaching mouth certificate.

One major thing working in our favor is that opponents are yet to solve the new Eagles approach. We’re creating chances through direct attacks and build-up play rather than our usual wing-based patterns. Hopefully, our next opponent won’t crack the puzzle.

This Chelle's super eagles has played really well in this tournament, beyond my expectations in terms play and tactical execution on the pitch.
Kudos to the entire team,be focused and do not relax until this trophy is ours.

If we are to learn how to remain humble until the trophy is ours, it would even be better experience and enjoyment for us.

Another angle: Nigeria to shatter the host curse.

The first and last time Morocco hosted an Afcon was in 1988. The 1976 win for Morocco was in Ethiopia.

Now in 1988, Morocco also reached the Afcon semi finals as Host. Infact, Morocco entered the 1988 Afcon not only as host but as the African side with the best World Cup performance for an African side at the time (Round of 16 finish at 1986 WC).

They met a Cameroonian side that like Morocco was unbeaten at the '88 Afcon. Morocco, that was also unbeaten eventually fell 1-0. Cameroun went on to win the title stopping Nigeria.

In 2026, at Afcon 2025...

Morocco is host yet again. Morocco still ride on the tag of Africa's best performers at a World Cup (Semis at 2022 edition). Morocco is in the semis vs unbeaten and 100%-perfect run Nigeria.
It will be a bloody tough game but Nigeria will triumph only because we will prove to be too superior to the Moroccans.

This will also be redemption for the robbery we suffered in Maroc 1988.

Lastly remember... all the talk of 9pts 1st Placed teams at Afcon since 2019 crashing out in round of 16 vs 3rd placed sides on about 5 occasions or so with only Algeria in 2019 being the exception eventually got crushed by Nigeria when we took out Mozambique.

Now, again, we have this record talk of never beating a host nation at an Afcon in the KOs but again with one exception being in 2002 vs Mali (host). It is time to crush yet another historical pointer. Come wednesday, it is done.
Maroc 88 was the first AFCON I followed from start to finish. For me it was one of the most competitive AFCONs ever and also marked the beginning of Modern day AFCON.

GROUP A
Morocco (Host)
Algeria
Ivory Coast
Zaire (Now Congo DR)

GROUP B
Egypt (Defending Champions)
Cameroon
Nigeria
Kenya

As at then, with the exception of Kenya the other 7 teams were the big boys of African football. Kenya were riding on the success of their 1987 African games football team of which most of the players were part of their 1988 AFCON squad and so they at least had a fairly descent team.

Nigeria was returning to the AFCON after missing out of the 1986 edition, being eliminated by a Kalusha Bwalya led Zambian team. As an 8 team tournament, then, qualifying for the AFCON was a lot more difficult than it is today.

Algeria and Morroco qualified from Group A while Cameroon and Nigeria qualified from Group B. Of the 4 teams in the semis only Nigeria never had a World Cup experience while Algeria, Morocco and Cameroon were riding on the back of their 1982, and 86 World Cup experiences.

The semi final fixtures & results were:
Cameroon vs Morroco (1:0)
Algeria vs Nigeria (10:11 penalties)

Cameroon and Nigeria met in the final, both teams unbeaten. And Cameroon won 1:0, with goal scored from the penalty spot.

Now to the 2025 AFCON the semi final stage has 4 teams that are all capable of winning the tournament. I see games being won by fine margins and some individual brialliiance from Star players.

For me as a Nigerian fan, going into the Morocco game, I am resting on the fact that the team has improved with each game and also having beaten other North African oppositions like Tunisia and Algeria. It is potentially a tougher game than the 4 previous and if we can beat Morocco I don't think Senegal/Egypt can stop us.

the big issue there is that we can still easily switch to wing player is we want.

Apology bro but which kind of talk is this? Prime who?

Iwobi leaving Arsenal was one of the transfers I really couldn't bring myself to accept. Right now, I'll bench Odegaard for Iwobi.

Don't say stuffs like this again.

This narrative is incomplete, if you don't mention that Nigeria scored a clear goal that was fraudulently adjudged to be offside while the penalty Cameroon had was controversial.

Good afternoon everyone.

Still ecstatic after yesterday's win.

To receive no single shot on target after two games is super impressive to say the least.

Algeria too will have to go back in memory to recall the last time a team manhandled them the way Nigeria did yesterday.

Fantastic viewing.
