Minneapolis mayor Frey downplays the ICE agent injury after being hit by Reene Good.
"The ICE agent walked away with a hip injury that he might as well have gotten from closing a refrigerator door with his hips. He was not injured. I’ve seen worse injuries from doing that. No, he wasn’t run over. He walked out of there with a hop in his step.”

Evil man.
Here he is kneeling before St George of Fentanyl casket.

Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by basilico:
ICE Acting Executive Associate Director Marcos Charles reveals Good “had been harassing some other of the vehicles, uh, one of our other vehicles.” He said ICE agents briefly lost sight of her at a red light, but she quickly returned to the area. “She then… continued to harass and impede the enforcement actions of our officers there on that street, uh, by blocking them, using her vehicle to block our vehicles, uh, to, uh, basically use her vehicle as a barrier across the… public roadway, uh, and impede our officers.”

Charles described Good’s actions as deliberate and aggressive. “Officers were trying to get around her. Every time they would try to go either in front of the vehicle or behind the vehicle, she would then reverse or go forward, trying to hit our other vehicles.” When asked to clarify, he added, “She was trying to get… in the way of our other vehicles, whether it be hitting them or to stop them from proceeding forward.”

Asked what he meant by “harass,” Charles explained, “They follow us… start honking, yelling at us… calling us names… they’ll cut us off… use their vehicle to stop our vehicles’ forward progress.” He confirmed Good had done “all of the above” multiple times that day. “She was doing whatever she could in order to impede us and harass us.”

She was just an innocent mom going about her business.
With the ICE agent in front of her, Rebecca the wife had yelled at her "Drive Baby Drive"
Rebecca is seen a video saying the shooting was her fault.

I'm wondering why you are happy there are chances that Venezuela oil facilities won't be upgraded. The Chinese and Russians have not poured $100 billion in investments in Venezuela.
The concern about Venezuela seems more or less about Trump failing than Venezuela being able to export more oil
They sell oil at a discounted rate, most of it to China .Which advanced them loans to be repaid back in oil. My understanding is that Venezuela oil will be sold to American refineries at market prices, refined and then sold to China or any other country.
Happy?
HAPPY?

That americans are being hunted for being American?

Happy?

It's the most painful and predictable 'I told you so' ever
There was no plan for what happened afterwards and it's now glaring.

Trump signed executive order safeguarding Venezuela oil money in the US Treasury where no creditors or activist judges can touch .The money will be released under Rubio's permission once a legitimate govt is in position.
The liberals led Bernie Sanders are up in arms saying trump wants to steal the oil. The Venezuela people are happy Maduro is gone . "We don’t care. Venezuelans want freedom and we are happy. We’ll pay for it with oil — our future in freedom is worth more. We have resources to spare, and we had already spent 26 years giving them away to Cuba, China, and Russia".

You don't expect Venezuela who were in Maduro's camp to just give up easily.
That said, I've not followed on what's really happening there, I know the Venezuela armed forces are still under Maduro's buddies control.Who knows whether they will start a separatist movement or a civil war.

Governor Tim Walz signed this into law in 2020.

Minnesota Statutes § 609.066, states: "If a driver accelerates toward an officer standing in front of the vehicle, this creates an immediate, life-threatening danger. The officer doesn't need to wait until impact; they can act based on the apparent intent and proximity".

Democrats have no shame.

I personally think I have not mentioned race nor blacks much less gone for it, and feel you are quick to label one a "classic go-to".

Blacks are not the only ones disenfranchised by property requirements. The homeless are not all black. Should they also not be allowed to vote because they can't provide an address?
That's good that race wasn't implied. The error or misunderstanding is mine.

Yes the homeless would not be able to vote if they don't own property...if property ownership becomes a qualification to vote.

Good thing is that the USA is a republic. All votes are not equal under the Electoral College due to population differences of the States.

Also the Citizens United (?) case qualified money as speech, opinions aren't equal either, richer people have "bigger" speech to influence elections and candidates.

Adding other sensible voting qualifications like property ownership, paying taxes and military service would be a good thing. Maybe one wouldn't need such qualifications to stand for office, just to vote.

And naturalized immigrants should never be able to hold ANY office anywhere. There's already a push for that. In my view children of naturalized immigrants or legal residents shouldn't be able to hold office.

That's a possible meme or trolling. I saw that claim somewhere yesterday and checked the text at the official law Reader or Depository or something at the University of Minnesota. Maybe I read it wrong or missed it. 🤔

However it's clear the shooting was justified. Thanks to the White Man for inventing video.

Thanks

Good Luck to Nigerians.

Google Gemini gave me correct results for 2020 elections in Minnesota then the bot got confused immediately after that

Never blindly trust AI chatbots . They make mistakes too. Sometimes they lie outright with a straight face when they don't know an answer.

It's not exactly stated ,which is why I posted it the actual reference
The law is about when police officers should use deadly force. Enacted by a special session following George Floyd death.

He's obviously a home-owner. Ask him if he had the same view when he hadn't owned a home.

Let's also ask him if he's become much wiser and/or more politically aware since he's owned his own home.

--------------

Imagine such senselessness being suggested.

Technically, most "home owners" are just "mortgage franchisees"..... people who have access to borrow money based on credit score. They are not home owners until mortgage is fully paid.

Imagine the anarchy when the fully-paid gang step up and demand more voting rights over mortgage franchisees.

Dude wants to disenfranchise millions of people based on credit score. Especially in the US when one bad illness in the family can wipe you away in an instant for years.

Right wing nut jobs always thinking they smarter than others. Always looking for more ways to restrict rights to the common people.

1) He's obviously a home-owner. Ask him if he had the same view when he hadn't owned a home.

Let's also ask him if he's become much wiser and/or more politically aware since he's owned his own home.

--------------

Imagine such senselessness being suggested.

2) Technically, most "home owners" are just "mortgage franchisees"..... people who have access to borrow money based on credit score. They are not home owners until mortgage is fully paid.

Imagine the anarchy when the fully-paid gang step up and demand more voting rights over mortgage franchisees.

3) Dude wants to disenfranchise millions of people based on credit score. Especially in the US when one bad illness in the family can wipe you away in an instant for years.

4) Right wing nut jobs always thinking they smarter than others. Always looking for more ways to restrict rights to the common people.
First of all, the USA is already a Republic....all votes and political speech are not equal under law. Now to your comment grin

1) Yes on both. I've always thought that voting should be an earned privilege.

Paying off a home provokes awareness of property taxes. When a mortgage is still in place, taxes are rolled into the payment, many people don't even SEE THE TAX BILL....and it's paid on their behalf by the bank as a smaller monthly amount. When the mortgage is paid off, the taxes become due as a SINGLE YEARLY payment. That's why White Americans and retired, fixed income persons are very sensitive to taxes. They have a higher proportion of paid off homes.

Imagine if your property tax is $200 per month as part of a monthly mortgage. After you pay it off, the tax is paid as a $2400 lump sum.
If the city increases the property tax by $120, the impact is heavier on the mortgage free home owner. Some people inherit homes and because they don't have a mortgage, they live a more care free life. Every increase in taxes is a DIRECT INFRINGEMENT on their freedom.

By the way, there's ample EVIDENCE that neighborhoods and cities with high proportions of OWNER OCCUPIED housing have better quality of life indices such as low crime rates. They tend to vote for more efficient government and crime control to protect their property values. There's many neighborhoods in the USA with HOA rules that prohibit rentals precisely for that reason. Home owners have more INCENTIVE to maintain a good society.

2) This is plainly not true. This opinion has been repeatedly debunked on Nairaland threads where those stuck in Nigeria denigrate diasporans by claiming that borrowing to buy a home doesn't equate to home ownership. It's simply wrong. Enough said about that.

3) There's no mention of credit score. Many people inherit or buy for cash.

4) grin grin grin Indeed it's about rights vs duties. The USA and UK have gone too far in extending rights and deemphasized duties. By the way, such laws could be written in a way that requires just one or two of several qualifications. For example, qualification to vote might not require ALL, just ONE or TWO of the following -

1. Property ownership

2. Military service

3. Paying income tax.

4. Be a citizen or natural born citizen.

By the way, the recent controversies over property tax in Chicago should be an eye opener for Black Americans everywhere. A capitalist, free market economy such as the USA tends to make its citizens wealthier over time. The Black American resistance to property taxes in Chicago is a clear example of the political consequences. Black Americans staging protests against property taxes? Yes, Black Americans are rich too!!!!

Good Luck to Nigerians.

Today would have been Laken Riley's 24th birthday if she hadn't been murdered by an illegal migrant that was released into the country by the Biden Administration

Yet Democrats did not demand justice for Riley, instead they are marching in the streets for Anti-ICE agitator, Renee Good, who allegedly attempted to run an ICE agent over with her SUV

Riley was m*rdered February 22, 2024, at the age of 22, by Jose Antonio Ibarra, an illegal migrant from Venezuela.

Her body was found in a wooded area near Lake Herrick, she was beaten and strangled.

🔹September 2022:
Ibarra illegally entered the U.S. near El Paso, Texas.
He was released into the country by the Biden administration.
His travel to New York was paid for by American tax dollars. He stayed at the Roosevelt Hotel migrant shelter - also paid for by Americans.

🔹September 2023
Ibarra was arrested on charges of "acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17"
Sanctuary NYPD released him before ICE could detain him.
After he was released, taxpayer dollars were used to pay for his travel to Georgia.
#newyork
🔹About a month later (October 2023), Ibarra and his brother were picked up for shoplifting at a Walmart in Athens
They were released back into the community, without ICE having the opportunity to detain them.

🔹He m*rdered Riley less than 5 months later

🔹Ilhan Omar did not show up at an organized protest against her illegal migrant k*ller

🔹AOC did not say Riley's m*rder was "extrajudicial killing" or call for the illegal migrant involved to be prosecuted.

🔹Mayor Jacob Frey (Minneapolis) did not say the Illegal migrant's actions were 'Reckless that resulted in someone dying" or 'Bullsh*t"

🔹Gov. Tim Walz (Minnesota) did not say the Biden administration's defense of illegal migrants were a " propaganda machine," and he did not promise a full investigation for accountability.

🔹House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (New York) did not say Riley's murder was "an abomination" and "a complete and total disgrace," with no evidence justifying the use of deadly force.

🔹Rep. Maxwell Frost (Florida) did not say illegal migrants as a whole need to be held accountable, and she did not say "We’ve been warning about this for an entire year," or criticize the Biden administration.

🔹Democratic leaders in Minnesota did not denounce the illegal migrant m*rderer, and did not demand illegal migrants "leave our state immediately" and she did not condemn the illegal migrant criminal tactics.

🔹Democrats in Congress did not push to limit open border policies and funding for illegal migrants, and they did not seek to rein in the Biden Administration for their open border policies following the m*rder of an innocent college student.

The illegal immigrant should never have been inside the USA in the first place. Prevention is better than cure, that's the principle. The Biden Administration deliberately opened the borders and allowed a flood of illegal immigrants to walk across. When challenged they claimed they needed new laws and $150 billion to solve the crisis they created. That is exactly what killed Ms Riley...and President Trump has proved that it was a needless and avoidable death.

Also American liberals, progressives and socialists DID NOT express much distress at the death of Ms Riley, their fellow citizen. That's terrible.

Good Luck to Nigerians.

1) The answer to the rhetorical question is obvious. Yes, the killer is in custody or prison. So what? He should have NEVER been in the USA in the first place.

2) No, USA citizens also commit crimes. USA citizens can't be excluded from USA territory. Thus the clear difference is that crime by USA citizens is LESS preventable than crimes committed by illegal immigrants. This is VERY clear, there's nothing to twist or misunderstand.

Ms Riley was killed by the negligence of the Biden Administration and no, Mr Biden is not in custody or at any risk of being held accountable.

The punishment meted out to the immigrant that killed Ms Riley, should be the same for the ICE officer that killed that woman in Minnesota.

Simple and short.

Injustice breeds agitations and after that protests.

And just to let you know, the crimes committed by US citizens overwhelmingly trumps those committed by immigrants.

When you thought certain folks had common sense and they open their mouths one day and scatter all that perception you had about them. Disappointing

Nothing irks me more than immigrants who get to middle class and somehow imagine they’ve joined Elon Musk’s club and are suddenly better than the ones who have been here before and seen how the system really is.

When poor front end planning meets hasty execution..

One of the reasons for not touch basing with the full Congress for deliberation and support or non-support was because the plan would leak (foolishness if you ask me).

At least someone would have infused a mitigation for this outcome.

I'm glad the so called Republic did not hold on to these policies you seem to think are new when they are very old indeed and had detrimental effects on non-property owners when implemented, and were abandoned when people became more enlightened, an enlightenment that can no more be darkened, dank gotts.
