We have a substitution problem. I always wonder why they take too long to notice that osayi can't last the whole of 90 minutes.
At the same time Simon has no business playing some of the matches he has featured in at this tournament. Lastly, why we don't make use of all 5 of our subs knowing that we have an established way of playing.
Well said , the coach has done very well. But when it comes to substitution he has not gotten that part well. It was obvious Osayi was extremely tired needed help or change but coach brought in Simon . With respect to Simon ,he has no business in the team but coach knows better . Our substitution and goalkeeper unpredictable character are challenges ahead. Nwabali picks up yellow card yesterday, I hope he will not misbehave against Morocco

I am actually expecting nothing less than an explosive Super Eagles under Chelle. Our players need to buy into his philosophy and embrace him.

If they soak in his knowledge of the game, I see the Super Eagles flying high and becoming one of the most fierce national sides in the game.
You can imagine.

This must have been when Ait Nouri tried to bully Osayi and then Nwabali quickly rushed to defend Osayi. Immediately Ait Nouri saw Nwabali's physique, especially the size of his head, he walked away with immediate effect. grin

Bounedjah had to beg on Ait Nouri's behalf grin

Now that the euphoria of yesterday's victory has begun to die down we now focus on Morocco.

Apart from being the host country Morocco is a well drilled tactical team. From watching the Moroccans Ibrahim Diaz seems to be the most critical pillar in their attacking arsenal. Not dismissing their other forwards but Diaz seems to be their most potent weapon from what I've seen.

Hakimi who's freshly back from injury is another main player to be wary off.

One thing is sure alarm bells would have gone off in the Moroccan camp watching how we dismantled the Algerians yesterday. So no surprises they will doing double duty analyzing our tactical approach and how to stop us. Hope Coach Chelle has a plan B incase they figure out our approach.

Ndidi will be a big miss but Onyedika brings a potential better technical presence in the middle of the park.

Our players should prepare their minds that they will be player 11 against 13 (including opposition players, refs, supporters and maybe CAF establishment) and be triple careful.

NFF should hawkishly monitor who will be appointed as match officials for our game against Morocco so that they appoint someone with sense not someone who will allow the Atlas Lions get away with blue murder like they did with Cameroon in terms of fouls.

For the tactical officionados in the house how do you reckon we beat the tactical set up of the Moroccans and their pressing power?

I think it would be a good game for Chukwueze to play and maybe Onuachu. I really liked how Onuachu was able to switch plays effortlessly when he played plus his height could be helpful. Just for some unpredictability.

And against Cameroon, the Moroccans completely outplayed Cameroun. Yes questionable calls but the Cameroons were out-thought and outplayed.

For sure they would rush us as we too would, the team that takes their chances would win the game. We would have dominance as they would too at different points in the game, the important thing is to make the dominance count.

Since we will be playing the host Morocco in the semi final, can the eagles just have a word with the girls and used the same template that the Falcons used to overcome them in WAFCON final we won even after being two goals down.

Asisat Oshoala and the rest of the Falcons should be in a call with the eagles right now.

AndSunGorilla has suggested that Onuachu and Chukwueze should come in. I don't agree.

Both teams play the pressing game. That's where Onyedika comes in. The absence of Ndidi may just proof to be a blessing. Onyedika will sit back, Onyeka will roam and Iwobi will play his normal role.

Our plan B will definitely be wing play if our middle game fails.

I don't want penalties and I hope we tidy them before 90 minutes or added time but I hope we are prepared for PKs

Watch Onyedika take out 5 Algerians with a simple turn. He's highly spoken of. I pray he rises to the occasion even more than what we saw against Uganda.

You know, speaking of Algeria's head coach.
If only some folks took their time to research the coaching pedigree of Vladimir Petkovic, they would appreciate the victory even more.

Petkovic is the man who overcame Didier Deschamps' World Champions France at Euros 2020 in that very pulsating round of 16 game. His Switzerland side did something magnificent.

He also coached Switzerland to the final 4 of the Euro Nations League in 2019.

He was also Lazio coach as far back as 2012-2013 and won the Coppa Italia.

No be small coaching mind Chelle outclass yesterday.

Like you rightly said, Petkovic did plan painstakingly to stop our key men but was still undone. It just tells us how hard our setup is to stop when in flow. The Algerians did try to press our backline at a point in the first half but the way and manner our lads bypassed them and switched plays to ease pressure made Petkovic and his lads adjust.

Chelle has done a wonderful job as the SE head coach. He isn’t perfect but he is far better than the amunekes and finidis of this world. Dude has one of the best wins ratio of any SE manager in history. He has two in two in this AFCON. Everybody na ikorodu pep guardiola for here.
