He should use the money open a GIC (Guaranteed Investment Certificate) in your name, that is what the visa officer will recognize, not bank draft.
Sir how can I contact you? pls I would like to get more information from you, I need more clarification on how to run this GIC perfectly.

When you did your medical exam, were you given a UCI (Unique Client Identifier) number? to go to the hospital by your ex husband

If yes, before you apply to Canada again...whether for school or anything else...it is very important to understand what your ex-husband previously did with your immigration profile. You need to confirm whether there is any ban or misrepresentation on your file.

If there is an issue on your profile, no matter how many visas you apply for or how much money you have, your applications will continue to be refused. I suspect your ex-husband may have made mistakes or caused problems with your file. It’s best to find out before taking any further steps.

You should request GCMS notes, and someone can help guide you through the process.
https://gcms-notes.ca/

To request them, you will need:

(1) Full name and date of birth (as used on the application..... likely under your ex-husband’s submission)
(2) Application number.....i believe you can get that if it was not an upfront medical exam
(3) UCI (Unique Client Identifier)
(4)Application type (Study Permit, Work Permit, or PR .....if you know what your ex-husband applied for, that will help)

in summary you need to know what your ex husband did with your profile before applying for any visa PLEASE

Yes, you can go ahead, but I will advice you to get a new passport before you apply for study permit to avoid the stress when it time.

Hello everyone, I have a question regarding student visa and passport expiration

I'm applying for a Canada student visa to resume Sept 2026. Program is for 2 years, to graduate Aug 2028. But my Passport expires Sept 2027.
Can I go ahead to submit my application with current passport or I need to apply for a new passport first? I still have a year validity after resumption
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 9:23am On Jan 15
Where is the ODN for proper analyses? How did you earn or get the 52M you showed? Was it just a deed of sale you submitted? You need to show a proper source of funds, not just submit a deed of sale of property documents.

Please guys, can someone guide me.
I am planning to start the express entry process for my family then before the end of the year I would start the student visa application for masters in nursing.

Is this possible?

If yes, I need someone to recommend an affordable school.
Which province should I target?
FYI: I am a registered nurse in the US but still on the student visa.

Please, I am actually not happy going through this process but I just have to do it. I need help guys.

Thank you

Are you saying I should consider other options for proof of funds and ignore the idea of a bank draft?
Profgordons:
Bank draft would work if you are already incanada. I have seen it work before also from Nigeria but that was years ago when things were not as tough as they have become. Bank Draft is an instrument just like money. If he pays your fees, that is a stronger support now compared to a bank draft.

Yes, and what ever POF you consider should be backed by the source of income.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Enitsua3M(m): 4:44pm On Jan 15
Sorry about this, please I wanted to know did you plan on going with your spouse in your application? Because I see no reason why the POF is not sufficient to see you through and also did you pay full tuition fee. Thanks

You can get express passport in days at premium cost. Apply for a new passport as I did same last year before applying for a tourist Canadian visa and was give 10 yrs visa
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by ATTAHDYE(m): 11:18pm On Jan 15
Open the GIC with CIBC, it is very important.

It can be anything from 10-20 CAD, to cover your living expenses. It tells the visa officer that you're not coming to Canada to struggle to survive, and it removes the doubt of whether you will have access to the funds.

The GIC should be in Addition to other POF arrangements.

All the best.

Bro I did pay full 1 year tuition.
And am going alone.
The funny part is that I don't just use deed of land but I did everything right and even seek review from expert here and other.
I verify. Reverified. Review and review my documents before submitting.
Bro.. Those guy are rejecting people based of their own statistics.
It's well. We keep trying
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by ifeanyija:
amnotapervert:
That’s good. Now, the best thing you can do is let your sibling pay your acceptance fee directly from their account so it clearly shows the payment came from them.

I know the acceptance fee is usually around 15% of the first-year tuition. Make sure your sibling provides proof of income, tax returns from their country, and proof of residency.

They should also explain that you are their younger sibling, you have always wanted to pursue the program you are applying for, and they want the best for you. That’s why they are co-supporting your studies in Canada.

They should clearly state the exact amount they are giving you and show that they paid your acceptance fee to demonstrate their financial capability. Their 6-month bank statement should also reflect the acceptance fee payment.

This makes the application much easier. for co-sponsorship I wish you all the best
wow, thanks to people here

It was wrongfully rejected cos of source of fund (employment letter, payslip) from my sister, the VO did not see her employment letter and payslip.

Congratulations!

I love hearing good news like this. You did the right thing and closed every possible gap the visa officer could have raised in your application.

Having €50,000 in your sponsor’s account to support the applicant, and over ₦70 million for you and your family, was a strong move.

The ₦70 million clearly shows you can cover school fees and upkeep, while the €50,000 served as solid additional backup if needed.

This is exactly why I always advise people to show at least two years of full school fees 35 million naira plus the required upkeep amount for the applicant and all accompanying family members.

Sorry about that, but let’s look at all the possibilities. Sometimes it’s not just about showing the money it’s about clearly demonstrating how the money came into your account.

Could you please share more context on how the ₦52 million was obtained?

Yes, that’s your Express Entry profile, and it does not prevent you from also applying for a student visa.

It’s important to understand the context of your goal. If you are trying to move her permanently, then Express Entry is your best option provided your CRS points are high enough even for healthcare.

However, if your goal is simply to leave the U.S. due to the current visa instability and the Trump-related uncertainties, then coming to Canada through school is an option. That said, I will be honest....you will likely find the process frustrating as its not as easy as it looks on the surface but its very possible

If you are considering lower-cost schools,

(1) Memorial University of Newfoundland is one of the best options, Known for very low tuition even for international students

(2) University of Manitoba Good nursing programs much Lower living costs than Ontario/BC

(3) University of Saskatchewan Master of Nursing (Master’s; sometimes NP stream)

(4) Cape Breton University

(5) Dalhousie University

(6) University of Alberta Strong program, sometimes research funding available

I always advise working with a licensed immigration consultant. A regulated professional can help you clearly understand your options and align them with what you are truly trying to achieve

Honestly, Me I am tired with IRCC. I submitted my application on October 14, 2025, completed my biometrics on October 16, and even did my medical examination upfront to avoid any delays. Despite having fulfilled all the requirements promptly and responsibly, I still haven’t received any response or decision from IRCC. The prolonged silence is frustrating and emotionally draining, especially when I’ve done everything expected of me

You will receive a Passport Request (PPR) letter in your IRCC account or by email..I can’t remember which one comes first. The letter usually comes quickly, and it will include instructions on how to submit your passport at the VFS office at lekki.
