I'm surprised we have to remind people
lexyman:
we are playing against the host ,in the presence of 69500 spectators ...... the team didnt play badly , and they were able to curtail the Morrocans , what we need now is the moment of brilliance from any of our fowarline , then we can kill the game completely

Morocco have really crowded the midfield..

Perhaps it's time to revert to a formation that will give us advantages on the wing
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by 123jamessmith: 9:56pm On Jan 14
Why are we allowing them to play.. what happened to the high pressing games we have been playing.

If you guys observe this game well, we haven't really pressed them. Maybe it's a part of the game plan.
How can you press them when they are not giving you chance to do that?

Bruno and Osayi have done well to keep Morocco's wingers at bay.... Bassey is handling El Kaabi well, but this yellow card might make him play more cautiously

There's no doubt that Morocco will try to take advantage of him now to get him sent off...

Hmm. You can't high-press against such quality o. Brahim Diaz has been a handful

Morrocco are edging it, now it’s because of the crowd, the home support can make run like a man on drugs, we need to just be precise in this second half.

We will score in the second half, and once we score they will panic and we put 2 more.

Nigeria wins 3-0

When I said there is an antidose to how we play, we can see it now. Press!!! Press!!! Press!!! and......... grin

I think Onyedika has to step up or we bring in another player but who? lipsrsealed

TheSuperNerd:
This intent narrative to paint Onyedika as bad. He has only been dispossesed twice. He is playing right in the midst of the most crowded area in midfield... you actually think Ndidi will survive this Moroccan press. Lol.

Onyedika has been generally good save for being dispossessed 2x. Iwobi has been dispossessed 3x already too and Bruno lost Hakimi for a cross... but I dont see knocks on that. So make una rest the Onyedika agenda. It is stale.
Onyedikalost the ball in dangerous areas bro.

I told one guy that's the plan to cut off Iwobi feeding our forwards he was arguing with me

Oga Onyedika nor Sabi play ball. That's why despite all the hypes he is still at club Brugge
Doesn’t seem like a natural DM to me
Losing balls in dangerous spots
They better switch him to Onyeka’s position
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by WarHammer2000: 9:59pm On Jan 14
For me, Morocco has the advantage. Their coach did a real tactical study of Eric Chelle and found an effective antidote.

Now is time for Chelle to tweak things a bit maybe in terms of strategy and let's see what happens.

TheSuperNerd:
His tackle. His combo play with Iwobi that drove us forward in one of our few offensive forays. His block on the right with Onyeka to stop a threat.

Are you seeing all that or it is just this shallow focus on the two times he was dispossessed. When Semi Ajayi lost the ball twice, did you keep hitting on it? Abeg make una rest.
Yes, he had his few moments but for the two times he lost the ball, he had the whole time to pick his pass. I’m sure everyone here hit semi for his 2 moments of madness too

With what I have seen in this first half, we can't win this match. Unless miracle happens.

Game of two halves. Hopefully Nigeria wins even if it’s by penalty shootout

He coach would have allow onyeka to play ndidi position.

so the midfield can be porous?
Not the way you think. With all the midfielders you have on the pitch at the moment what chances have they been able to create. Their chances are not coming from the midfield either so the game is dominated on the wings . We are not playing anything.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 10:00pm On Jan 14
I was just about speaking on Bruno. Aside that moment he lost Hakimi, he has been rocksolid. Our busiest defender in the first half and he has stood strong. Kudos.

Bassey has also been solid and I am sure he will play his all for the remainder of this game now that he knows that this is his last afcon 2025 game.

Odunayaw:
Chelle needs to talk to Onyedika to boost his confidence

Let ex players come and ginger them. Fantastic showing from Bassey and Bruno

Tell me one pass Iwobi made that resulted in attack?
He made a couple few penetration passes. Lookman's shot on target was a long forward pass from Iwobi.

Even Ndidi would have lost the ball a few times in that first half. The Moroccan press has also stiffled Iwobi to an extent. Unless you guys are ignoring that.
Ndidi dey loss but not like this oga!
What I love about Ndidi is he calms the game just like Bassey is doing.
