Kog45:Please, I am not disrespecting you in any way. Please do not see my post as that. I respect you so much to do that but this is exactly what I feel and I have preached about it a long time. That is why the likes of Kanu Nwankwo and Ikpeba did the impossible against Brazil. They did not have this chicken mentality that the other side is better. We should start growing balls or let us have peace. Tired of this our chicken mentality that we are mediocre. We are not. That is why people believed we could not even pass the ball and build from the back. |

It is well, 27th is still not a bad place. We will push on from there. A little consolation is Morocco wont touch 5th place after the Afcon is done. lbrichman2: |

NFF/NSC should try to be act sensibly though it seems the most difficult for them 1. Retain Chelle and give him a long-term contract. He is young and has shown that a great of adaptability so far unlike Rohr. 2. Prioritize the cadet teams U-13s, U-17s etc and ensure MERITOCRACY in selection of coaches and players 3. Invest in infrastructure in conjunction with the private sector to ensure we have more standard pitches across the country. Chelle may not win an AFCON but this will most definitely lay the foundation for future success. Erstwhile dark horses and minnows are becoming powerhouses on the continent. We either sit up or become a laughing stock. |

But minfelix:You guys don't get it. Nobody is blaming him for missing his penalty. Bruno missed too. Nobody blames him. Chukwueze's blame stems from his indifferent, e-no-concern me attitude before and after taking the penalty. And I maintain that he deliberately missed the Pk. Omeruo was calm and collected. Chukwueze was nonchalant. Not the same. If Chukwueze had scored, believe me we would have won this match. |

Kog45:On normal scale, could we compete in anyway with Brazil at Atlanta? We were facing the likes of Ronaldo De Lima, one of the greatest players in football history. Roberto Carlos, who finished the next year as the second best player in the world. Rivaldo became world best player. Bebeto needs no introduction. Juninho was an EPL superstar at that time. I think Dunga was there. Sergi Concecao was on his way to Brazil. Brazil was a gulf in class ahead of us. But we played them with bravery. We believed on ourselves and did the impossible. One of the most memorable victories in world football. When did this fear approach to football enter Nigeria? |

TheSuperNerd:For me it’s so clear why the North Africans always dominate club football in Africa for all the talk about their sports facilities and organisation na dark arts these folks they deploy to dominate especially when in club football you got to play at home. So if countries like Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco don’t host Afcon their chances of winning is zero. Rubbish and to think it’s like 6 nations just holding the rest of the continent ransom is most ridiculous |

Why is it that Victor Osimhem always fizzles out when Nigeria plays good teams but scores plenty goals against weak teams? I am asking for referee Daniel Laryea |

Kog45:When we met Argentina in Atlanta Argentina had Ariel Ortega, one of the best dribbling attackers to grace football. Hernan Crespo was a World Star. Claudio Lopez was a super star of the series a. I think Gallardo was also there. Javier Zanetti and a host of stars. We played them with guts and bravery. I prefer we give them hell and lose than play like a chicken and hope to win. I have never known Nigeria for fear. How it is has become a norm baffles me. |

bingbagbo:You can't blame Osimhen yesterday. There was no service. He is a striker. His game is as good as the services he gets. |

Mujtahida:if he had scored evem with that non chalant attitude, we would have won this match🤣🤣….bro if SA keeper had caught that Omeruo penalty, we go cook Omeruo for life…have you gone back to watch that Omeruo own again…very childish penalty…he was so lucky Williams went the wrong way…that Omeruo penalty too whack and be like secondary school penalty |

daveP:Chukwueze finished us. It was a key moment. We had the momentum. Like Goke7 said Morocco was there for the taking. If he had scored, Morocco would have been under immense pressure, the kind that makes a man piss in his pants. They would have possibly lost another penalty |

So because they beat Spain luckily on penalties and bested Portugal, they cant be beaten? Remind me again Morocco's result at their very next major tournament after Qatar 2022. Pls do remind me. I recall being the one person on this thread giving Morocco a real chance at Qatar 2022 so I know I am being objective here. Morocco reached WC semis 4yrs ago so their pressures must be soaked for 120mims...What kind of talk is this? Do you know the referees truncated our plays again and again? They play good football yes but they could not rely solely on their "good football". They had to cut corners around the decision makings influencing such a big game. When you are good, then you are good. Prove it on the field without the intervention of external forces. Prove it without having the immunity to do anything on the field and not getting a card for it. Kog45, Morocco did not get a single yellow yesterday and there were couple of occasions that warranted bookings. Was it because they were playing good football too? No, it is because Lekjaa, 1st VP of CAF is also head of Moroccan FA and they are CAF's biggest backers right now. You accuse TheGoodJoe of not being realistic but it seems you also are not being realistic to the obvious. Morocco were aided. In high stakes games like an Afcon semifinals, the small margins matter and Morocco had more than small margins calls in their favour. Chikena. Kog45: |

Kog45:When we met Spain in France 98, I remember the statement, Are you scared of Spain? Bora replied, Spain should be scared of us. If I remember well, Spain had Raul, Morientes, Luis Enrique, Alphonso, Sergi, Hierro, Etxeberria, Zubizaretta and a host of stars. Men we gave them hell. To the point they lost it. We played with fire. I prefer we go for glory than lose than play as a chicken, hoping for luck to win. |

TheSuperNerd:unconfirmed rumor though from a reliable source claim that the Moroccan government lobbied CAF to win the competition with millions of dollars The reason been that they have to win in order to have something to show to the citizens for their heavy investment in football in the country so some years now They argued that they need to be compensated with winning the trophy the same way CIV hosted and won at the last edition And with the role current SA president played during the World Cup qualifiers to favor his country to qualify I had every right to believe the rumor. The reason I said he may emerge as the most corrupt Caf president ever to exist |

bingbagbo:but he did not fizzle out against Tunisia and almighty Algeria na?🤣🤣….bro abeg no bring up this agenda….he has played many top notch fixtures and turned up and even score goals/make assists Vs Cameroon last afcon Vs Algeria Vs Tunisia vs Gabon we can’t dominate every team…some teams pass us…thats simple |

Kog45:We had a working system. We were one of the best scoring teams in the competition, if not the best. Why abandon it because of fear of they are too good. If they are too good, in the word of Celestine Babayaro, "NOTHING". Why abandon the system that was working to soak pressure? |

minfelix:Go and watch the penalty Ajayi played against DRC. It was lame. Nobody blamed him. Omeruo was cool. Chukwueze was laughing or rather had this irritating smirk on his face. Their approach is not the same. Thats why the result is different. |

Chelle did try to respond. When Akor was not seeing the ball, he went wingwards to receive. Nigeia did try to get on the front foot in that second half but everytime we did, the Ghanaian ref intervened with treacherous calls. Even the commentators twice asked what the foul call is for because they dont see anything. There was even a call for a non existent throw in after Bruno won the ball. Laryea of Ghana kept messing up our plays. Anyone can say passing lanes were cut but not everyone noticed that we did try to get around that challenge but were stopped by the ref nearly every time.
