lolzzz.... to drop 7.5% is not easy oooo when we know it will be stolen. threat to his life is bad also
Which one is 7.5% again? Are you talking about the VAT on fees and levies that they just announced. If you don't know, ask let me educate you on it, because it is not from your money that they will take that one. It is 7.5% of all the fees/levies/charges that the bank deducted from customers. E.g. Let us assume you made transactions of ₦2,000,000 and, still assuming, the bank charges you ₦800 as COT. The ₦800 belongs to the bank. It is from this ₦800 that the bank will calculate 7.5% and remit to government. That is ₦60.
That one is different from stamp duty of ₦50, which is the one to be taken from the customer.

Which tax did they increase?
Can you please juxtapose the old tax with the new one nd tell me where they increased the tax you are going to pay?
My gross annual is 8 figures. 7 after all statutory deductions before tax. I calculated and realized what I'll pay at the end of the year will less than what I have been paying in the past because of the increase in the threshold for each tax category.
I swear, e no go better for anybody wey dey carry propaganda on this tax reform, and those wey dey foolishly believe them without conducting proper research.
Which proper research? Is it not the masses that will be forced to bear the burden of price increases,?

The VAT is too small for the government to tax.

7.5%? Too small.

Government wants to be collecting tax of ₦100,000 and above.

VAT can't build quality toilets nor build adequate hospital facilities. It's too small.

Na ogun go kiii you dia, for taxing extremely poor Nigerians and increasing hardship in Nigeria. Las Las you are just a demonic vessel in the hands of tunibu for squeezing life out of very poor people in every way. It's only demons like you that will agree to milk the poor maases for enjoyment and looting tendencies of Nigerian politicians.

VAT 7.5% on electronic fee of transfer amount
According to google

Starting January 19, 2026, Nigeria will apply a 7.5% Value Added Tax (VAT) exclusively to the service fees charged by financial institutions, not the actual money sent. The 7.5 percent VAT is not taken from the money you send. It is charged only on the small fee banks or fintechs collect for making the transfer.
