I don't think I've ever heard of any local name papaya [popularly called pawpaw] is known by.

Does it have a name in your language?
If it does, what is it called?
I'm here to learn.

Ibepe /ibekpe/ in standard Yoruba

In Ekiti including Akure it is ubepe /ubekpe/ or ubepe /ubepe/ like the 'p' here is pronounced like the p in police, pawpaw. Thats how its called in my moms village.

It is also known as 'ogolomosi' among older generations in rural Ekiti

All my years of going to the village, always heard everyone call it "paw-paw."
Don't know if there's an Ibibio name for it.

Languages are supposed to keep developing.
If there is no word for it in your language, simply borrow PawPaw or Popo & add to your language.

Just like many English words are borrowed from Latin & other languages.
