This current team can and should peak by AFCON 27 and 28.

Defense looks solid. Attacking options are there and we seem to have a midfield set up that works, just need to integrate more players.

We really need to win one of those two (if not both) before AFCON reverts to a 4-year cycle and it becomes more difficult to close the gap with the likes of Egypt and Cameroon.

I hope they keep Chelle for stability sake
Regragui is over 4 years on the job
A new coach means starting afresh with new model or identity
Chelle just needs to add plan B & C, instead of building up through Iwobi
He also needs assistance particularly in 2nd half in game management
Morocco kept Regragui despite South Africa loss in last Afcon
East Africans can’t win the next Afcon right now so that turf will be a neutral ground
It is not really about the NFF, it is about Chelle himself choosing whether to stay or move to a better offer. There was a reason he accepted the NFF offer and the Super Eagles job with a reduced salary, and now that decision has paid off. If Tunisia offer is genuine, he will definitely leave

Make we just win for regulation time abeg.

Friendly later this year we go use am test all untested players from this AFCON.
Exactly. If everybody fit make them play that Egypt match abeg.

Especially Osimhen, make he score make we use golden boot console ourselves and if he fit use the match equal Yekini record.

I am just smiling at the prospect of Benjamin Frederick's return to the RCB role in Chelle's 4312/442 diamond. Chisos! It is earth-quaking.

In this setup, this pair would easily morph into possibly the most press resistant CB pair in Africa. We will invite your press and beat through and around u like u dont exist.

You have these two and buildups takes a new dimension from the back as Benjamin can not only intercept danger early but also drive into space and break lines himself.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am already in 2027 Afcon. I can see the first game play out.

This team is in its prime. They will touch the final in 2027 as long as Chelle is retained. By 2027, Chelle would be nearly 2.5yrs in the Super Eagles job. The Soaking will be complete before Afcon 2027.
The soaking will be complete 😂

That line too sweet, we go don too soak am like buns inside groundnut oil 😋

TheGoodJoe, I know you said you have accepted the ref disrupted our pressing game and rhythm again and again but kindly see this compilation done by Kurotams of FootballFanstribe.

Just leaving it here for the records and to show that bad officiating consistently ditched out moments after moments and after moment in a game does affect a team's rhythm, flow, momentum and gameplan.

International commentators even asked.... "where was the foul?" in the Simon vs Hakimi battle on the left.

Note: I have left this plane but I drop these here as evidence so no one will come tell us months from now that the ref didnt impact how the game went.

Na why Chukwueze suppose collect better slap from Chelle after that shambolic miss. It would've been mad if we won on penalties after all these nonsense from the referee.

We'll keep on trying till we get the fourth star. It was over a decade before we won in 2013. African football is so tough atm that's it hard to dominate like that Egyptian side of old. NFF just have to run their administrative side with a serious approach
It's really tough.

Okay let me not say he acted maliciously (and I have my reason for saying so) but Chukwueze really effed us up.

I saw a video where Chukwueze himself was saying that they have been practicing penalties. Chelle at the post match presser said that he was one of the best at Pks in training. He was brought in specifically to do that job. Fresh mind, fresh leg. He bungled it right at the moment Nwabali gave us the advantage.

All the effort of the team, gone to waste.

HIS PENALTY KICKS ARE HIT HARD, FIRM AND DECISIVE LEAVING THE GOALKEEPER NO OPTION TO SAVE IT.

HIT IT FIRM, HARD AND DECISIVELY.

DIRECT, ASSERTIVE EXECUTION OVER FINESSE OR PLACEMENT.

GOING FORWARD, NIGERIA MUST ADOPT THIS APPROACH.

PRIORITISE POWER AND CONVICTION OVER DECEPTION.

A little shake up would have distablized their game plan. They locked Iwobi in our half,if he had moved Iwobi forward; maybe replace him with Akor, then replace Akor with a midfielder,it would have changed the trajectory of the game.
If he had done this and they scored, would you have defended him? No!

You'd most likely blame him for such changes.

Bro, I agree with you.

Chukwueze 100% deserves the dragging he's getting from Nigerians.

You sef check am, Chukwueze and Bruno missed their PKs. In fact, Bruno's PK was the consequential one that gave the advantage to Morocco to score and win but na Chukwueze Nigerians dey drag.

Why? His "I don't care" body language, lackadaisical attitude and uninterested demeanor when he came up for the kick. That's why some people have called him a saboteur. He was chewing gum and just before he took the kick, he blew a big bubble.

Everything was just off. Chukwueze did not recognize the importance of that moment and him converting the kick. He wasn't locked in. These players gats know that when they dorn the green-white-green, it's serious business and they play not for themselves but for 250 million Nigerians.

Nigerians are not dragging him because he missed the penalty. Anybody can miss a penalty. He is being dragged because that moment required seriousness, determination, focus and he showed none.

I will continue to say it that the so called dominance of the North Africans in club football is a sham. If the acclaimed sports facilities they boast of can’t make them play fair then there is no point they hosting tournaments. African football will start dying slowly with these kind of antics. I remember when the Moroccans were knocked out in the last Afcon and how they accused CAF and everyone of racism just because they can’t compete fairly. We are in soup with these guys for as long as they are part of the continent. What a shame!

I have noticed something subtle in football.

When a player jokes too much, focus quietly slips. Energy scatters. The edge softens.

Humour puts the mind in a relaxed, social state. Football demands controlled tension and inward focus. Too much banter shifts attention outward, away from positioning, timing, and decision making.

There is also emotional spending. Every laugh uses mental energy, the same energy needed to read the game and stay sharp under pressure. Spend too much early, and concentration arrives late.

Great players understand timing. A little tension sharpens the mind. Too much joking dissolves it, and carelessness follows.

Humour is a tool, not a lifestyle.

At the top level, football rewards emotional control. Knowing when to smile, and when to go silent.
