Mujtahida:If Iwobi had to come up with spectacular performance to keep his place in the team so why won’t Aina? Aina must work like Bassey to continue to command our respect |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Mujtahida: 6:39pm On Jan 16 |
When it was stated that Afcon will be a four year event and many people protested by saying that we are trying to Europeanize the AFCON, I resisted that idea because as Africans we tend to resist ideas with Pan African mindset instead of the merit or demerit of the idea. With the AFCON coming to a close, I think it's best it continues to be a biannual event. It is one event that brings the continent together and unlike in the past, it's now commanding greater global attention. We are gaining traction. We should build on this momentum rather than let it zap out into a four year event. Afcon dey sweet. And e dey pain. |

Please the super eagles need quality midfielder o. Apart from frank and ndidi, I cannot put my bet on another.. anthony Denis would do better that onyedika. Onyedika is not a rugged player. |

Goke7:He must earn his place. Bruno was given a chance. Baba grab am with his two hands. He shut down Diaz and Hakimi. Imagine what that would do to his confidence. |

Mujtahida:Bro, hope say your anger don reduce. No vex for your guy abeg😀😀 About this Aina matter, let's even talk about his fitness despite his return from an injury Let's even hope he remains the Same player he was and even get better. We can't serve him that position on a platter. He has to work for it and earn it |

Mujtahida:Bruno shut everybody and as kokmne always saying Sanusi na gbas gbos defender no finesse in his game, hope to see Festus Agu again |

Kog45: I hope I am not among the Everybody because I always rated Bruno Onyemachi ahead of Sanusi. Ask TheSuperNerd. |

Kog45:In truth I never had issues with Bruno. In fact when people were complaining, I was at a loss as to why. |

Blueelf:Onyedika disappointed me personally cuz am one of those that rated him highly here...Nnadi and Akinsanmiro if they're fit deserves some minutes tomorrow, sincerely not necessarily we win, reaching semi final is a plus for the team |

I agree. You always rated Bruno ahead of Zaidu. While I insisted on Zaidu's quality based off his Afcon2023 showing albeit in an ultra defensive system, you said Jpes was not fair to Bruno and that Bruno could offer more. TheGoodJoe: |

Blueelf:Yes his fitness be Koko but if he can replicate form of 2023 to the day he got injured against South Africa then Aina is back |

Kog45: I will cut them some slack. That game is not what we will use to judge players. KlintCod said a Moroccan gave him ear buds to plug his ears because of the noise. Others said the same thing. I think we should just ease on them and not judge the players with that game. |

Kog45:The accounts from Nigerians in the stadium that day will make you feel for the players. How Onuachu was able to steady his nerves beats me. |

Onyedika failed the physical aggression test in a big game. He is still a MF that can be useful for us as his technical quality remains among the best in the team but I insist on my 3/3 criteria for midfield selection: - Technical - Tactically Progressive - Physically aggressive If you are not Physically aggressive/assertive as a MF, we go get problem. Iwobi lost as much physical battles/duels as Onyedika in midfield but he remains the exception because he is the brainbox of our midfield. Kog45: |

Goke7:Meaning Benjamin Frederick must work like Bassey to command our respect abi....cuz it will be Osayi/Aina and Ajayi/Frederick,fact Afcon starters have an edge but an seeing Aina and Benji starting if they're fit |

TheGoodJoe:I agree with you totally every player on that pitch stood be counted in the light of the prevailing circumstances. |

| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Kog45(m): 7:09pm On Jan 16 |
TheSuperNerd:Perfectly said, starting Iwobi and Onyedika is minus one, like playing 10 against 11,Frank was all over doing the tackling, even Lookman and Akor and this gave Osimhen tough game |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by ChrisKels: 7:13pm On Jan 16 |
Papi85:No disrespect to Benji but Nwaiwu is a very strong contender for that position unlike Igoh Ogbu, Awaziem and co. Not a big fan of Ajayi but he did a good job in this AFCON. Bassey, Benji, Nwaiwu and Ajayi are my choices for any team list for now. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by 123jamessmith: 7:55pm On Jan 16 |
The coach has enough time now to recruit some foreign born quality players to the super eagles. |

| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Mujtahida: 7:59pm On Jan 16 |
Blueelf:I no vex again. I even appreciate ChrisKels because he - perhaps without intending to - made me realize that people thought I was attacking Chuks from the angle of tribalism. If I had suspected that people would see my opinion like that, I would have hushed up since after the match. That's gone sha. Nobody walks into the team. You must earn your place. You slack off, you get benched or even thrown out of the team like Tolu. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Mujtahida: 8:02pm On Jan 16 |
lbrichman2:We missed him oo. Benjamin used to go on this mazy drives. Against a side like Morocco, he'd have been a great pillar in that defense. Nevertheless I salute Ajayi for the tremendous work he did manning the defense. He was jittery at the start of the match against Morocco but he stabilized and got the job done. |
