This midfield is poorly set up by Chelle.

Dele and Onyedika is not enough
They're not a good blend at all.

This ref is stupid, that was a yellow card foul on Onyedika. He didn't give them, but was quick to hand out a yellow to Simon.

Nonsense.

COOL10:
True
He was a bit confused on what to do . Chukueze would have made some runs and make crosses .

One bad game does not invalidate a player’s qualities.

Onyedika is not SE midfield material….ok then, who is?

This is the same thing people said about Iwobi last AFCON….
whichh one bad game? U no dey watch am for this game? Mk una stop being biased for once and say things the way the are

Iwobi is
Onyeka is
Bashiru is(wont even be losing balls anyhow the way this Onyedika is losing balls and too much backward passes)
Ndidi is and so on and so forth🤣

one bad game against Morocco, this one against Egypt is now looking like 2bad games

I thought Chelle has learned from this 4-2-4 set-up
I guess this is the plan B everyone has been clamoring for

Boring first half
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by CornOak(m): 5:52pm On Jan 17
HALF-TIME.

Very underwhelming game.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Spainever(m): 5:53pm On Jan 17
Moses Simon should just retire . Seems coach like him . His time has expired . The under 20 guy Sani should be invited

Make una relax na
the kind of passes that chukwueze is giving to Onuachu is the kind of passes that Osihmen thrives on due to his speed. Osihmen should be playing in this game.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Goke7: 5:53pm On Jan 17
It looked like a friendly match at the beginning then turn into something I no understand 😂

Senegal go see strong thing tomorrow they had better pray they survive till penalty shootout so they can explore their luck else everywhere go blur 😂 if they can score and defend all through in regulation time better! We too tried in 2023 to drag the match to extra time e no work!
I don't see Senegal upsetting Morocco to win on Sunday.

If we lose this game, it will be the first time we'll lose a third place playoff in AFCON history. Won't say more than that.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 5:55pm On Jan 17
bro.. that you even went to see it on the VAR screen and still ruled that goal out. I was talking to my wife yesterday and I told her that the big teams who felt hard done by, by officiating should send their home based teams in future AFCONs as a protest. I will say focus on the main prize which is the world cup.. We are not trying to settle scores with other African teams. Let's go make big statement at the world stage until CAF put their acts together

CornOak:
Dem dash am yellow card join. grin

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by oloriooko(m): 5:56pm On Jan 17
how was that goal a foul?
Onu didn't throw his elbow rather the player ran into his elbow while trying to ready himself for a jump
i wonder how useful VAR is

Osayi to me is the most improved player in this squad and he deserves some accolades
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 5:57pm On Jan 17
Onuachu is tall. his natural arm position will definitely be where it was. Did he swing his elbows? That is the big question.
lbrichman2:
Tough luck

I believe he will come in the 2nd half
But Onuachu deserves a half at least

Osayi and Aina, totally different profiles but, at this point, I will say they are at par generally speaking.
