On Eric Chelle, I am not convinced. Say all you want. He is a good coach, but he is not yet there. With all the quality at his call, very good coaches have actually shown their tactical superority over him. Eric Chelle is a good coach but lacks sufficient depth. Depth will come with experience and the willingness to learn. Anyways he is still young with a lot of promise. |

Osimhen is close to world class but he is not. He is not great with his legs. Check all the naija trained players at this Afcon, how many of them have good 1st touch? It is the innit boys that are assured in possession. Chukwueze is about the most technical Naija trained player and I still see some poor touches from him. Osihmen could not help with gameplay against Maroc cuz of his poor 1st touch which overworked Akor. Iwobi gave him a ball in the box that he could not control in the Maroc game. Haaland could probably do better with it. |

lbrichman2:I agree We couldn't beat Morocco and Egypt in 90 minutes Lacked ideas, they were trying to get Iwobi on the ball a lot We need more outlets |

Hopefully Chelle builds on this cause we are finally solid in defence and goal keeping, Arthur Okonkwo will join soon as #2 to Nwabali and Benjamin will miss his defensive best friend (Bassey), Ajayi is in his best prime and will provide effective leadership till he retires with a gold trophy in AFCON 27/28 insha Allah. The foundation already looks good, the only few tweaks needed will be for Chelle to inject new prospects (as he promised) like Durosinmi who will be the next big #9 for us to understudy Osimhen and build a partnership with Akor (who is learning a lot from Osimhen already). We need them as reliable strikers who can hold it down when Osimhen is injured etc Lastly the North curse seems to be broken under Chelle, we beat every North African team in this tournament except Morocco (arguably the best and most complete team in Africa at the moment) we didn't lose to them in regulation time, it took PKs with all the dodgy officiatings and Chukwueze's gaffe for them to beat us. I make bold to say that right now, no African team can talk to us on the pitch except for Morocco, Senegal and maybe Ivory Coast. |

segestical10:First touch don't mean sheet Osimheen will get you goals and that's all that matters See how isak and gyokores are struggling despite 1st touch lol Can you guys put some respect on that guy's name This is very disrespectful to a generational talent In the streets boys go beat you o |

Nigeria is now smelling around the afcon trophy, we we will lift that trophy either 2027 or 2028 same way we romanced around the trophy from 2000 to 2010 before winning it in 2013 2000 2nd place 2002 3rd place 2004 3rd place 2006 3rd place 2010 3rd place 2013 WINNER we are coming again 2019 3rd place 2023 2nd place 2025 3rd place |

yinkeys:Why does everyone respect Spain? It is cuz they produce technically secure players in every position. Why do we talk about press resistant players like Cazorla, Modric, D.silva? Most of Osimhen's goals are one touch (header or leg). Haaland scores those, but he also receives some fast passes to score some one on ones. Osihmen homself respects Berbatov for a reason. |

After 7 matches (90/120 minutes) Chelle won 5 and drew 2. Scored 14 and conceded only three His team did not concede all through the knockout stage. |

Goke7:Make una stop this thing abeg. I no know why e dey always pain me when people dey talk down on Unity Cup or the 3rd Place match. Men train for these games, men travelled for these games. Players were discovered from the Unity Cup. Éric Chelle praised the Cup and said it was his first trophy as a manager, it meant a lot to him. Na we go come dey online dey rubbish am like say if we lose those games una no go still drag the team. Every match and tournament is important abeg, as far as them no play am barefooted and with mufti or POOJA wears. |

I can't understand how Ajayi who I considered at best a squad player now rose up to be counted in this AFCON. Especially that we weren't defensive in this one like the last one Ekong won |

minfelix:Penalties na penalties. "near catch" na save? Salah and Marmoush played good "far catch" PKs, how far na? Make Egyptians dey drag them say them play rubbish PKs? Who go miss go miss. Expected goal for a PK is 0.87... Open net o with just one person standing to stop you. Anyhow you play am, there's that 0.13 possiblity of miss, ALWAYS. |

BankyGee:The unity cup is as good as a friendly tournament to warm up our players and try new ones. It’s a simple matter. If we won unity cup and did badly at Afcon who will use unity as a barometer to measure the team? So that’s where am coming from. Even on Chelle cv no one will reckon much with unity cup like the bronze he has won today which is a bigger deal. For Chelle am happy he won bronze so he can shut some of his critics up cos they would have come for him if he didn’t win today but for me am tired of bronze hope you get? Am even more fascinated by the 4 straight clean sheets he had in the past four games than the bronze itself. And in this Afcon he didn’t lose any game in regulation time, stuffs like that are more important to me. |
