I will go back to my first question if we had qualified for the World Cup will all these excuses suffice? I rest my case!
If he hadn't been out for long would he have asked to be excused so that he could get minutes under his belt to sharpen up?

Well said Akor. Very well said.

You are right. He is the first.

PDPGuy:
Nwabali has now kept EIGHT career AFCON cleansheets!

And I think he is the first Naija keeper to keep 4 consecutive AFCON knockout round cleansheets!

18 y/o German-Nigerian Francis Onyeka, on loan from Bayer Leverkusen scores for VFL Bochum vs Darmstadt in Bundesliga 2. Game still in progress at 19mins now.
His 7th goal and 8th G/A.
He is featuring as an AM. Also got 2 goals in last game from same role (AM).

😆😂 I like how you worded it yet can't see you're destroying your point.

The fact you're saying He took our team already shows you know they were the lesser team
Also please remind the human being that we fielded our second 11 against Egypt full squad with Salah and Marmoush and we still grinded out a victory against them in a knockout game. I don't know why people are glossing over that little detail.

We even had two goals cancelled, and at least one of them was a legitimate goal if a competent referee was in charge.

I am more concerned with Akinsanmiro as he is a lad who can deputise in that LCM role in Chelle's 4312/442 diamond and is a gifted ball carrier as well but I wont knock Chelle for not giving him gametime because I believe the experience of watching and soaking as a 21 y/o is also vital and will be useful for future assignments when called up.
He returns to Pisa hopefully a better informed Midfield player who will show even better performances onfield.

But as much I am convinced with Chelle and believe he should continue, I still have one lingering concern. A concern that I believe he will address as he is allowed to continue these good works.

In all, for me, Chelle did well giving nearly everyone gametime.

Tolu Arokodare, CF starts for Wolves vs Newcastle in the EPL.

Tom Dele Bashiru, MF starts for Genclerbirligi vs Samsunspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

BankyGee:
Are you actually sure people don't understand? Because right from time even before Éric Chelle, the Super Eagles always play better in the second halves of games, and under Éric Chelle it's now almost balanced, we are always on top of our game for the whole match.

Even Egypt we played yesterday, the second half was better than the first, we had more possession and Egypt didn't get a shot on target. We just had two goals disallowed, of which the first had no business being disallowed in the first place.

Of our 14 goals scored in this tournament, 9 came in the second half, so what are you saying my lord?
I meant to say after the subs have been made in the second half of matches, I struggle to understand what the team plays , not the second half per say. I hope you understand me now.

Loll, "because we expected him to win"

Pray tell, how many shots did we have. How many on target?

These are indices we can't ignore

Leave sentiments and say the truth

Who were our best players that day - our acts and our GK. This should be a big pointer
It's hard to make attacking runs and give shots when the referee keeps blowing his whistle whenever you win the ball in a duel and try to push forward.

Sunday Oliseh and Daniel Amokachi are a disgrace to ⚽️ commentators. They are lazy, presumptuous and obviously didn't do no research before any of the games they commentated on. Commentators should rather select on merit, forget ex stars who can't do simple assignment not proper research . Will take oliseh over amokachi though

I think players should watch their utterances. Yes I know they want to appear "humble" sometimes but that doesn't mean they should write off themselves in the process. I'll use Osimhen's case as an example in this AFCON. Dude had an interview before the game against Morocco and he mentioned in the interview that Yekini is the greatest striker that Nigeria has ever produced and I wondered what about him that said it. This is the guy that would have equaled and maybe surpassed Yekini's record in this AFCON but guess what happened in the next game after he said it... He recorded no goal, and he could not feature in the game after. The Bible says "you're snared by the words of your mouth". Yes Yekini was a great striker and a football legend for Nigeria but so are you Osimhen! You can exalt Yekini and also acknowledge your greatness as well.
Chukwueze also said his game against South Africa was his best game of his life during an interview after the game against South Africa in 2019 AFCON, and he did not record any meaningful and commensurate impact in the rest of the games he played in that AFCON after that interview. It is one thing to say it is your best game yet, and it is another thing to say it is the best game of your life—which mean you're saying you can't have any game as good or better that the one you just had. Words doesn't know if you say something to make yourself feel "humble" or to impress people with it. It just goes into effect the way you said it and it may take saying the opposite of it to correct it.

Senegal na our brother. Na why we two dey wear green jersey. Even our second jersey na white. They should win today. I need Morocco people to go outside today, look up the sky and ask God what else they must do to win afcon.

I'm sorry to say this but i think you overthink. A lot of players have said something similar but still went ahead to achieve bigger things. You actually took their interviews out of context.

Just curious, what would you have said if you're in their shoes?

Did Okoye withdraw because he isn't the first choice, or did he withdraw because he was out for too long and needed constant run of games to get back to shape?
It was said that Okoye demanded to be assured that he'd be made the first keeper as a precondition for coming for the AFCON but he was told to come and fight for it. Baba no gree come again.
