I am more concerned with Akinsanmiro as he is a lad who can deputise in that LCM role in Chelle's 4312/442 diamond and is a gifted ball carrier as well but I wont knock Chelle for not giving him gametime because I believe the experience of watching and soaking as a 21 y/o is also vital and will be useful for future assignments when called up.
He returns to Pisa hopefully a better informed Midfield player who will show even better performances onfield.

But as much I am convinced with Chelle and believe he should continue, I still have one lingering concern. A concern that I believe he will address as he is allowed to continue these good works.

In all, for me, Chelle did well giving nearly everyone gametime.
His game reading, and in game substitution right?

Comot there with that new age idea sugarcoated with Bible
Moniter0:
I think players should watch their utterances. Yes I know they want to appear "humble" sometimes but that doesn't mean they should write off themselves in the process. I'll use Osimhen's case as an example in this AFCON. Dude had an interview before the game against Morocco and he mentioned in the interview that Yekini is the greatest striker that Nigeria has ever produced and I wondered what about him that said it. This is the guy that would have equaled and maybe surpassed Yekini's record in this AFCON but guess what happened in the next game after he said it... He recorded no goal, and he could not feature in the game after. The Bible says "you're snared by the words of your mouth". Yes Yekini was a great striker and a football legend for Nigeria but so are you Osimhen! You can exalt Yekini and also acknowledge your greatness as well.
Chukwueze also said his game against South Africa was his best game of his life during an interview after the game against South Africa in 2019 AFCON, and he did not record any meaningful and commensurate impact in the rest of the games he played in that AFCON after that interview. It is one thing to say it is your best game yet, and it is another thing to say it is the best game of your life—which mean you're saying you can't have any game as good or better that the one you just had. Words doesn't know if you say something to make yourself feel "humble" or to impress people with it. It just goes into effect the way you said it and it may take saying the opposite of it to correct it.

Chibuike Nwaiwu having a solid first half on his league debut for Trabzonspor at RCB. They may be down 1-0 at the moment but the lad has been solid.

He did very well in Austria and is already having a really strong start to life in Turkey.

Omo I asked the same thing.

But to be honest, just because a PK goes in doesn’t mean it’s good. Iwobi’s PK could easily have been saved had the keeper gone the right way.

A good PK is one a keeper has no chance of saving. High and into the top corner.
I disagree with you. There's nothing like “..easily have been saved had the keeper gone the right way”.. What happened was "he sent the keeper the wrong way". That PK was an absolute beauty. Calm and collected.

You say outclass. At the last world cup, Morocco came out as the team with the lowest possession yet they won up till the semi. Would you agree that they were outclassed in the matches that they won up till the semi in spite of the stats favoring the other side?

I watch SE with clear eyes. Morocco did not outclass us. I know when we play, badly and when we don't.
I say we were slightly outclassed because we didn't even play our game and we ultimately lost in PK shootout

It's a 2-in-1 thing. His in-game subs alongside his player profiling to suit the exact tactical sub needs at any given moment.

So this 2-in-1 issue for me definitely suggests he still needs work on his game reading even though I have seen improvements compared to when he first began. But it is not eureka just yet.

But on improving players to suit roles... Chelle gets an A. Did it with Ndidi. Did it with Osayi. And much more.

Omo this Chibuike Nwaiwu good o 😳

I'm currently watching him and I had to go check his average ratings for his former clubs, everywhere green like Nigeria flag... 7.4, 7.5 most of the times and he can score too.

If we fit call this one up too, baba over solid go worry our defence, 1st team, 2nd team or 8th team.

One good thing about Éric Chelle is his temperament, especially in press conferences. I watched this press conference completely at the last AFCON, the journalists wan chop am, he said he takes all the blame and he's sorry he let the country down.

This one talk wey that werey tell am fit be wetin dey always ring for him head steady and dey push am to do more, which is more reason I NEED him to succeed with Nigeria's squad, he's a good man.

All their new coach taught them is how to collect red cards, 7 games, 3 red cards, no wins, draws full everywhere and quarterfinal elimination. Stupid from a nation that Éric Chelle coached to play good football last AFCON and even used to beat Nigeria in a friendly.

Lacked direction
Relatively central

Una go just wan use English confuse people. A PK that was played with shot and above the ground and also at the far right, you say na relatively central.

That was a well taken penalty that met a save to match.
If a PK is saveable, it is not a good PK even if it goes in. A good PK is one that CANNOT be saved.

Think Maguire’s PK during the 2020 Euro final. My guy tear net with upper 90 PK.

No GK is saving that

Trabzonspor should be 2-1 up but at least they levelled it at 1-1 before HT.

Nwaiwu has been commanding. Most tackles (5). Most Duels won. If you watched Nwaiwu in Austria, his showing today wont shock you.

That’s a fair point. If you send the keeper the wrong way then it’s good.

I just have the belief that there are some places where you can strike a PK and it can never be saved by a keeper (top right angle)

Our midfield got choked and we couldnt get into the game.

This is where I think Chelle can learn a bit more. We could have modified our formation for more wing play and taken off one of the strikers for an additional midfielder

This response shows you have no clue why Okoye was excused.

He was inactive for long due to a ban.

Dude was out for about 3 months and you wanted him to extend it to 4 months?
he was already on a 7 straight games run. Would have played 9 league matches before he would have resumed with the team had he been on the afcon squad. Inactive players dont get such amounts of play time

Those ones that CANNOT be saved have higher chances of being blasted over the bar or wide off target most of the time.

Study your keeper well, take your good PK, no overdo. Simple.

That's what killed Bassey and Ola Aina when they took theirs, even Michelle Alozie. Attempting the unsaveable penalty.

If we had qualified for the World Cup will okoye had made such demands? The optics weren’t good especially after a disappointing wcq series. It’s looking like okoye’s mind was on the World Cup than Afcon. For me I respect his decision but it shouldn’t be used as an excuse to justify him. Was it Chelle or Ndidi who said something like this team we win together and also sink together. We were all mad here when we heard rumours whether true or not of osihmen was threatening to leave the camp in the wake of the spat with Lookman and funny enough okoye would have had his chance in this Afcon in the game against Uganda and probably the 3rd place match, this is where okoye would have made his demands to be number 1 instead of shying away completely from the tournament. If we all agree that the team is bigger than players like osihmen we shouldn’t be making excuses for other players as well. Just look at how players like osayi, Bruno, Ajayi has taken their chances, it would have been okoye as well. He’s the one making Nwabali more indispensable!
God bless you Goke...Okoye excused himself cuz he wanted to be number one but to some the decision was good for his career,a decision that was unpatriotic and sabotage.Chelle needed to call forgotten Uzoho back...we have seen great keepers who are tournament second choice,I remember time of Thomas Nkono, Antoine Bell and Jacques Songo, all top rated Cameroon keepers in a tournament.....I don't know why we always like giving excuses for bad behaviors.
