Ive seen worse penalty at the very crucial stages. Watch again, many moroccan players ran into the box in case of a rebound.

They have to because that's the reason Senegal team accepted to continue with the match. Look its very difficult for the referee to rescind the decision, that's only way for an escape route for them to avoid big embarrassment for CAF and host country Morocco.

Diaz did not deliberately lose the penalty, how could he do that knowing fully well that eyes of the millions of Moroccans were on him at that moment and the fate of his nation at the AFCON2025 was about to be determined by his kick? What assurance did he have that after losing the penalty, his team would still score and win the trophy? His countenance throughout the medal presentation even showed that he was really sad.
