I disagree. There's something called precedence. When something of this sort happens and nothing is done in the form of punishment to the actors, it is bound to happen again. In a court of law it is who carry out the act that is punished, this is a case of assault and dehumanisation, the video clearly showed the culprits.

I suggest the Oba should reach out to The Iyaloja-General / Iyase-General of Benin Kingdom for intervention to save his boys (Eshos). If they go down in this case, others may be reluctant to obey a monarch who cannot protect them from 'justice'

The moral of this story is the reality that there is nothing like Kabiyesi or Uku Okpolopkolo anymore under the Democratic System of Government. The State Government is the Oracle that appoints, while the Security Agencies are the Sango/ Ogun that Kills all dissidents at the instruction of the C-I-C!

If the Oba’s sanctity is so powerful why does it need a bunch of guys committing crimes to protect it? Real respect is earned and not coerced through the fear of not getting away with it. Your tradition doesn't grant anyone a license for thuggery or extrajudicial violence. We live in a constitutional democracy and not a 15th century fiefdom.
