I will sincerely advice that this issue be dropped out of Court. The complainant knows with every fibre of his human mind that a real Benin son does not disrespect the throne of the Oba, neither will the Benin people allow anyone to do same as it is regarded as a taboo. The Oba whom the ex gov and his allies have continued to disrespect, didn't drag anyone to court. If he was to do that, I can ascertain that some people would be drowned thereafter. I guess a word is enough for the wise. No need for plenty rhetorics.
Bros, abeg no vex ooooo. I wan ask one question. What have the Oba and the boys done about the insecurity that is currently a menace in his kingdom?

The Oba is Not The Chief Security Officer of The State

I disagree. There's something called precedence. When something of this sort happens and nothing is done in the form of punishment to the actors, it is bound to happen again. All those who physically manhandled Pedro must face the music. Since. The palace has denied sending them, they must present who sent them.

Stupid moves like this must not be encouraged.

It shows you don't understand the deity of Bini monarchy. Listen, if you speak derogatorily about the oba anywhere around Benin, you will not get away with it. That's how it has always been. Even as a governor the moment you disrespect the Benin monarch, the Binis immediately turn against you.

Most Binis naturally defend the sanctity of their oba's stool from dishonour. When I mean defend, it could be by any means. Pedro is from Benin. He knew what he was getting into. He went ahead regardless. Believe me, he will not get anything close to justice. I learnt the IG has ordered the arrest of those guys. Sadly, they will be released without consequences.

Getting justice is really going to be difficult in a society like nigeria where the oba is worshipped like a god.
In a court of law it is who carry out the act that is punished, this is a case of assault and dehumanisation, the video clearly showed the culprits.
Re: Oba Of Benin Palace Incident: Don Pedro Heads To Court Over Abduction, Assault by HomoDroid(m): 10:11am On Jan 20
I suggest the Oba should reach out to The Iyaloja-General / Iyase-General of Benin Kingdom for intervention to save his boys (Eshos). If they go down in this case, others may be reluctant to obey a monarch who cannot protect them from 'justice' smiley

The moral of this story is the reality that there is nothing like Kabiyesi or Uku Okpolopkolo anymore under the Democratic System of Government. The State Government is the Oracle that appoints, while the Security Agencies are the Sango/ Ogun that Kills all dissidents at the instruction of the C-I-C!

It’s funny you claim I don’t understand the deity of the monarchy yet you describe a system that sounds more like a mob than a divine institution. If the Oba’s sanctity is so powerful why does it need a bunch of guys committing crimes to protect it? Real respect is earned and not coerced through the fear of not getting away with it. Your pride in subverting justice tells me everything I need to know about your version of sanctity.

Your tradition doesn't grant anyone a license for thuggery or extrajudicial violence. We live in a constitutional democracy and not a 15th century fiefdom. If the only way to defend a stool is through intimidation and escaping justice tthen you aren't defending a deity, you’re defending lawlessness. This is why the system is broken and defending such barbaric behaviour is pathetic

I just gave you a lecture about a people. You are free to go to Benin and verify my free lecture. Insult the oba on social media or on ground, then walk around the town conspicuously. You will find out. Pedro knew better, but he chose folly.

For your information the oba doesn’t need to directly instruct anyone to carry out any form of corrective actions. This is the exact reason Pedro isn’t including the monarch in his suit.

Your acclaimed free lecture is just a long winded way of admitting that in Benin mob violence overrides the constitution. You aren't describing a culture, you're describing a breakdown of civilization where people act like animals because they can't handle a difference of opinion. If your deity is so fragile that a social media post or interviews requires a corrective action from a mob then the institution is far weaker than you're willing to admit.

Really? Is it that you don't read at all?
Let me post just 10 recent high profile case that Femi falana won
Ali Ndume suspension inclusive...it was a case of high power play against federal government far more than Oba of Benin merely state case

Below are 10 court cases he had successfully won in the past.

1. **Jones Abiri v. DSS (2018)**
Falana secured the release of journalist Jones Abiri, who had been detained without trial by the Department of State Services (DSS) for two years. The Federal High Court awarded Abiri ₦200 million in damages for the violation of his rights.

2. **Hon. Rifkatu Danna v. Bauchi State House of Assembly (2017)**
Falana successfully challenged the illegal suspension of Hon. Danna, with the Court of Appeal ruling that her suspension violated the rights of her constituents to representation.

3. **Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin v. House of Representatives (2018)**
Representing Hon. Jibrin, Falana won a case where the Federal High Court nullified Jibrin's 180-day suspension from the House of Representatives, ordering the payment of his withheld salaries and allowances.

4. **Senator Ali Ndume v. Nigerian Senate (2017)**
Falana's legal advocacy led to the annulment of Senator Ndume's suspension by the Senate, reinforcing the illegality of such legislative suspensions without due process.

5. **National Conscience Party v. INEC (2003)**
Falana was part of the legal team that challenged the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) imposition of nomination fees, leading to a Supreme Court decision that such fees were unconstitutional.

6. **Joseph Odafe & Others v. Attorney-General of the Federation**
In this case, Falana's advocacy contributed to a Federal High Court ruling that upheld the socioeconomic rights of citizens under the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights, which is part of Nigerian law.

7. **Alhaji Sani Dododo v. EFCC & Others**
Falana was involved in this case where the Court of Appeal affirmed that the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights, as part of Nigerian law, protects the socioeconomic rights of citizens.

8. **Elder Areola Abraham Love v. Oba Semiu Ogunjobi (2025)**
Falana filed a ₦200 million lawsuit against Oba Ogunjobi on behalf of Elder Love, who was assaulted by the monarch. The case highlighted the enforcement of fundamental human rights against traditional authorities.

9. **Femi Falana v. Meta Platforms Inc. (2025)**
Falana sued Meta for $5 million over a misleading video that falsely claimed he suffered from prostatitis. The case underscores the enforcement of privacy rights under Nigerian law.

10. **Omoyele Sowore v. DSS (2019)**
Falana represented activist Omoyele Sowore, challenging his detention by the DSS. The court ordered Sowore's release, reinforcing the protection of personal liberty.

These cases illustrate Falana's commitment to defending human rights and upholding the rule of law in Nigeria.

In the petition dated 29 December 2025, Mr Obaseki identified the alleged leaders of the group as Kapuepue Adun, Osayande Obakhavbaye, Osamede Nomoless Eriyo, and Osamiefan, also known as “Sales Guy,” alongside other individuals yet to be identified.

Hmmmm.

This is an epic strategy.
If you fa gburu, gburu will fa igbo.

I actually saw this happening with the faces of the perpetrators all over the video evidence while their alleged sponsors openly dissociated themselves from the criminal action.

that is the worst advice ever. No consequences for impunity?

Why do you think the Oba distanced himself? The hoodlums who did this should face the music. The evidence was on social media.

as in i get ashamed when people defend this thinking they are doing Benin justice. You are simply making Benin a laughing stock by validating savagery. You are not wiser than the Oba that quickly washed his hands off such savagery and uncivility
