For 90-365 you can get around 18% and for a 90days, 6months 19 and a year around 22%(All rates are backend).
There's also option of taking you interest upfront as it is on the app.

My first time hearing this.
I know investment One don't charge any fee. The only deduction is 10% WHT which is statutory.

I don't know if they have changed though

I'm going to try another investment house, I pray it better be a general issue.
With their poor NTB rates, they'll not allow one breath with charges.

Ask questions before you do anything.

Maybe they are learning from the Banks. Lol

Hello guys

What is the best advice for this man.

He has about some pounds to invest in something like mutual fund or treasure bill.

He wants to get 10m naira every year from this investment.

What’s the safe options for him?

For example investing 100m to get 10m yearly is not bad.

Did you try GTB bank?
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by enque(f): 2:44pm On Jan 20
Since 10M annually as returns is fine for him, he can split the 100M into 50M each.
Put 50M in tbills at say '17%' for 36-something days and he'll get around 8M+ish.

Invest the remaining 50M in money market for monthly returns. Rates are not fixed, but I believe by end of year he would have made a minimum of 10M combined from both investments.

Treasury bills at 18% on 100m will give him minimum of 16m considering charges then his target of 10m will be exceeded while he further invest 6m in any other investment if not same Tbills.

For example investing 100m to get 10m yearly is not bad.

I've been using GT fund managers for a while now & haven't experienced the "SEC charge" before, so it's strange to me.

Another thing I noticed is their rate for the January 7, 2026 auction which was @ 17% against the 18%+ rate we saw from the result.

I know banks charges other fees. The Sec fee is new to me honestly.

Yes. Its rare to get exact stop rate. Most time people go with bank/investment house rate.

Maybe it depends on the amount also.

Instead running away, think about the money you would not gain if you decide to keep fund idle. Even though rate is dropping, you are still getting something atleast.

Enter DM make we talk as tbills don tire you.

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by skydiver01: 5:19pm On Jan 21
Your eyes are seeing correctly. The bonds were originally issued at those rates. However, the yield that clears the reopening auctions will be different. They would be similar to current yields in the secondary market, i.e. not the coupon rate. One benefit is it does not attract WHT. That's why I said 'some may be interested' wink

Good day all.

I subscribed to the 364 day Treasury Bill last year and my money was released today but a 10% WHT was applied to it. Should this be so considering that the money was invested last year.

P.S: This was my first time using first bank. I normally use Zenith and they don't remove WHT
