alphonsojidebab:Mr Whizkid or whatever you call yourself, not only are you not bigger than Abàmì eda by any yardstick. Even in one thousand lifetimes, you will never be as big as a strand of his public hair. Your problem with Seun is nothing to do with his dad, so a little rat like you need to pipe down. |

That particular set of people are the problem of Nigeria. Let them leave Nigeria and watch how the country will turn to a sweet home. The are too c00rupt and they lack orientation. |

Fela was a legend that Wizkid can never be... Wizkid has attained wealthy and commercial success (internationally) that is far bigger than Fela. |

Wizkid should know that he can only drag Seun. Insulting Fela would incur the wrath of many music lovers globally. |

Northsouth:Wizkid has sang song that were clearly inspired by Fela.. All our super stars have at least one song (sometimes 12+ songs) that are inspired by Fela. Seun Kuti is a stupid guy but Wizkid spoke foolishly on this topic. Why they warn us not to engage with a fool otherwise people wouldn't know who is the foolish one. |

Na big time mess up if Wizkid actually said this. Baba Fela was not just a musician and Wizkid can never achieve a quarter of what Fela achieved. Apart from music what else does Wizkid have? |

Wizkid song "sweet love", he sampled Fela's Shakara Oloje... My brother, the one that inspired you is greater than you even though you did greater things than them (commercially). |

faceland:Fela was never interested in wealth that is where you get it wrong He was genuinely interested in uplifting people In Kalakuta Republic he was feeding hundreds of people The one thing that would get you expelled from that place was tribalism He was totally detribalized and lifted so many people He never sang about bling or money as something to pursue So to me there us no basis for comparing them on the money basis Fela went to prison. many times and was prepared to die for what he believed in which was good governance On the music front He played several instruments , was a composer and producer not all these computer or electronic stuff He performed live in front of real Nigerians at the shrine and even foreigners like Paul McCartney and current French President went there Fela went around universities across Nigeria to perform live Many young people don't understand how much young people loved Fela and his music then He definitely was not impressed with money or luxury so that is a non issue |

B4 I attend to the topic I'll say this firstly, it's a warning I always give people who care to listen Before you start quarrell...avoid short people As for the topic, that fellas son brought this on himself, I knew this day would come but I didn't know short Wizkid will be provoked into saying it ( I always expected him to say it unprovoked). Fella was unlucky to have been big in an era when ai and streaming was unknown compared to this lucky young genz nitwits called celebrities. I tell my kids, your generation will find making money the easiest thing to do. The trending papatouti song was ai generated, raking in mad revenue as we speak meanwhile the original artists who birthed the song many years ago is irrelevant in the scheme of things. For crying out loud ..fella originated afro, he would have being in the realms of Micheal jackson and Co if he had accepted international promotion, marketing and distribution deals, he would have being know in every household worldwide for generations to come just like Micheal. Anyways let's pray not to birth sons and daughters that will bring shame to our hardwork. This shit should never have happened but that prodigal son of fela asked for it. He should get a name for himself. |

These genz don abuse internet and run see-finsih for face with pride. If govt should ban the use of yansh, money, weed and bling in music or music videos with jail term attached to defaulters. The likes of Wizkid will grow broke overnight because Dem cowards, keyboard cowards. But a fela would defy such orders risking it all for the music he loves. That was fela. In an era when there was no Internet or CCTV, to go missing was a snap of the finger, as easy as ABC. This legend sang and said it all, daring the government to do their worse. That my friends is a legend and a movement! not these disrespectful nitwits claiming woke yet cant ask government for accountability even behind faceless keyboards. Cowards! |

tonididdy:Fela was not unlucky at all you seem to be wanting things for him without evidence he wanted them . I do not see Fela buying a Ferrarri of bling if he was around today Fela was not happy with the way the country was run and that is what he sang about most of the time If he just had good melody alone he would not be that relevant today If he was around today he would have sung about Wike, Malami Tinubu Snake swallowing money etc |

You must have to listen to other African artists that played during Fela's era before you make those bold claims. This would help you understand that most African artists mainly from west and central Africa had also similar genre just like Fela. The likes of Franco Luambo,Papa Wemba,Kalle from DRC,Manu Dibango,Salif Keita,Yossour N'dour, virtually most of Ghanaian artists in that era had very much similar Afro beats genre. There wasn't anything different to what Fela was doing. They had their bands, went on concerts, traveled abroad for shows. There is this false belief or common narration about Fela, among Nigerians and l think we need to explore. Conversely,Afro beats of this generation, just like other genres has evolved over time and it's mainly a central and west African evolution dominated by Nigerian Musicians. It is catchy, appealing, also cool to dance to unlike the Afro beats of old.Fela was part of the old just like many in his time.He didn't invent nor was he God father of anything like some of you want people to belief..
