Why Tinubu, Atiku Shouldn’t Contest Presidency In 2027 – Hakeem Baba-ahmed by SlavaUkraini(op): 2:12am On Jan 21
Former Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has said that President Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar should not contest the 2027 presidential election, arguing that the country needs fresh leadership.

Baba-Ahmed stated this on Tuesday while appearing on the Politics Today programme on Channels Television.

According to him, both political figures have a responsibility to allow Nigerians to choose from a new generation of leaders.

He said that if he had his way, neither Tinubu nor Atiku would run in 2027, noting that their decision to step aside would give the country a better range of options.

He argued that President Tinubu may lack the capacity to continue governing beyond 2027, adding that the president would have completed a four-year term by then and should consider handing over to a younger, healthier, and more governance-focused individual.

Baba-Ahmed also expressed a similar view about Atiku, saying the former vice president owes the country the responsibility of not seeking the presidency again.

He said: “I had an interview here where I said that if I had my way, two people would not run in 2027. They will not run at all. They are President Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. They have a really good chance of giving Nigerians a choice to pick the best candidate.

"The reason why President Tinubu shouldn’t run, I think, is that he has run out of steam. I don’t think that he has the capacity to continue to govern this country beyond 2027. I’m speaking honestly, without any prejudice to him. I think he’s fulfilled his ambition and become president of this country. By 2027, he would have served four years. It would have been the best time for President Tinubu to say, ‘I need a younger person. I need a healthier person. I need somebody who is more focused on governance.’

And for Vice President Atiku, the same thing. They really owe this country the responsibility to say, ‘We don’t have to be presidents in 2027.’ The country needs fresh blood. The country needs a new lease of life.”

Can these Mauritanian brothers and extremists stop talking on Nigerian affairs when it appears they'll never understand Nigeria and are comparing her to Mauritania.

If one isn't asking for gays to be kpaid in the Streets, as if Nigeria is Afghanistan, the other is dictatorially trying to turn Nigeria into Somalia where democracy and sacrosanct right of every citizens to vote and and be voted for should be dimissed.

Tinubu better get like Trump and start deporting some undesirables back to where they came from lol.

Please learn to talk like a civilised person in public. He "has nothing to offer" means whoever you support should defeat him easily then since all Nigerians see your messiah candidate as best and will reject Tinubu at the polls abi?

Demanding Tinubu should not run or be forced to step down just shows that some of you are not democratic and would be a danger to yourselves if it is only those who think like you that populate a nation.

Gather your army and defeat Tinubu at the poll or keep quiet.

Re: Why Tinubu, Atiku Shouldn’t Contest Presidency In 2027 – Hakeem Baba-ahmed by EponObi(f):
Remove Tinubu, Atiku, you are left with:

- Obi (Old order; 63 year old "youth" 😂)
- Amaechi (Old order)

Where are the new generation of leaders ooo?

Who is left?

Sowore? 🤣 The military drone aluta guy? Let's be serious please.

The problem with Nigeria is there are no viable and smart opposition. In 2023, Buhari's performance was enough to stand as stumbling block for Tinubu and APC. But what did the opposition do? They fumbled the bag seriously, even when the presidency cabals, NNPC, CBN were against Asiwaju.

In fact, if we are being real, Amaechi is the most qualified among the current oppositions, if we judge with his record as Rivers state governor and minister of transportation under Buhari. But the ignorant youths are pushing an incompetent, clueless past Anambra governor who left the state with no tangible progress after 8 years, and is bereft of ideas to move the nation forward. Atiku is a thief (sealed with stamp of approval by his former boss, OBJ) and doesn't give assurance he's capable of driving change - esp given his age, desperation, and likelihood of recouping his decade long campaign expenses if given the chance instead of working.

Sowore is an amateur.

You mean out of over 200 million population, Nigeria can only produce the caliber of Obi, Atiku, Amaechi, and Sowore as opposition to a Tinubu? It doesn't reflect well on us as a nation. So after crying and shouting and beating chests about Tinubu's reform and policies and hating his person, na these people una fit present to challenge him as incumbent. We need to be serious in this country.

He is very 100% right. By 2027, they will both be approaching 80 years.

Tinubu is also not very healthy. He has achieved his ambition. He should now quit with dignity.

Where elections really count and the electorates really know what they are up to, there is no need to tell someone not to run for office.

You said it all bro. They claim to be democrats but push forward undemocratic stance that some candidates they do not want should not contest in an election over spurious claims, as if the ballot is exclusive to them and their preferred candidates(messiahs).

Gerontocracy shud be abolished for now esp with those contesting.
I wonder how d pres. will cope with combining d rigours of electioneering and ruling later this year.
Maybe that explains his long stay for u guess what

Hehehe....
For Tinubu, he has even forgotten he'll soon join his ancestors. The way he's clinging to be in control using any evil means available means he's not even ready to hand over after 2027
Fear anyone who believes by any means whatsoever, they'll be difficult to remove in the end
