im not a wizzy fan but u lie bro, ojuelegba is one of the greates song in africa, it was the song that encouraged series of international collabos with foreign artistes.

Fela on the other hand was so big he rather had international collaborations seeking him but I think to maintain the focus of his genre, it kinda had to be somewhat a lone journey or run solo, strictly Nigerian at the very least African hence his declinations of a lot of such offers.

Also, btw Nigerian artists did have international appeal way way before Wizkid came to the scene.

Fela Anikulapo Kuti knew music, studied music and produced music in genres that the entertainers of Afrobeats music can't even define, because of their illiteracy.
They can't read and write music.
They don't even know what is C on the keyboard.

I was 18 when I composed my "Hardway To Broadway" and it was recorded in California and a copy of the sheet music is in the Library of Congress in Washington DC.
I have been interviewed on BBC Radio and in International newsmagazines since I was 17.
All my compositions are works of art and not for commercial release.

I have little or no regard for any musician who cannot read and write music.
Wizkid is intellectually stupid to even compare himself to Fela. Anyone supporting him is also stupid.

I don't know maybe so, because for the time is we was relevant enough, although it may not have been exactly as huge as one can currently easily list 10 Nigerians hitting it and one of the new ones being Odeal in the R&b category, but still there were considerable hitters. I don't know if the one artist whose music was used in the Guinness commercials then during the days of the series abi movie "Michael power" (might have mixed up a few there).

There is this artist that use to gain airplay before Kennis music was even a thing he sang "guess who's coming to dinner, Carolina!"

There's Orlando Julius, Majek Fashek, Sunny Okosun, Ras Kimono. Others that were more foreign were Shirley Bassey, Sade, Seal.

The fact is both are good in their own time but can WizKid sell hard copy albums without streaming and forcing their music on audience. Fela's show were live and no mixes or superpower automated engines like we have today.

That being said, Seun messed up by even going after the WizKid FC at all. He dragged the late legend into this needless rubbish. I blame the stupid Seun Kuti. This is something Femi would never do. Everyone had always given Fela his flowers. Seun is just a foolish bastard.

Seun messed up big time by dragging Fela's legacy into the mud. The children of nowadays have zero regard for elders, so he should have known better not to banter with them.

In the past, comparing yourself with Fela would automaticaly end your career cos it's a sacrilege to do so.

Exactly. What actually drew me to Wizkid back then was that "holla at your boy" song, which actually was claimed not to be originally his song. I later got to notice the only time he impresses me is when he's featured in other artist's tracks, Examples "Blown away" and " You don't know ".... Great tracks. Guy has good voice but zero lyrics. Even very great artists have song writers. I don't think he has writers or even write his songs.... Baby oooo, baby, baby ooo, baby....x100. Who writes such?

Summary of his songs when I chose to download his debut album was;
1. First stanza with very few weak words on repeat.
2. Chorus,
3. Repeat of first stanza.
3. End of song.
Live is funny sha. If you check am well, other young artists like kizz Daniel, Joeboy, Fireboy etc have better, " Sweeter" songs than these two wey these genZ's de die for.
