He seems to be strictly policing Pedri and fine play by him winning a freekick in the offensive half. Beat Eric Garcia and Kounde with composed footwork and feint before being fouled.

He is a strong option for the Onyeka role in Chelle's diamond abeg. This one go shadow anybody and still bomb forward. His box to box energy, flank to flank energy is huge and is physically aggressive.

So far so good, the reason Pedri never play anything for this game is David Moses. Dude has won the ball off Pedri everytime. Lol

The current CAF leadership appears to lack a clear understanding of how African football ecosystems function. The proposed rotational regional league cup risks disrupting existing competitions, overloading players, and weakening domestic leagues.
Rather than strengthening African football, this approach could fragment the system, strain already limited infrastructure, and create scheduling chaos. What CAF needs right now is stability, investment in facilities, and stronger domestic leagues—not experimental tournaments that ignore structural realities across regions.

what do you guys think of the proposed upcoming regional league ?
we may want to insult motsepe as he is the head but what exactly do these WAFU guys at CAF do ?. Are the shortfalls of nature of these types of tournaments not known to them or is the organisation solely run by motsepe and the rest just take the orders? We have missed u17 afcons and world cup due to this nonsense zoning, CAF is bringing it as a nations league model now. what were the nff and WAFU guys there looking at when this was proposed? no deliberation, just sitting down looking like fattened goats and collecting fat allowances. We are basically going to be fighting for a slot with senegal, ghana and ivory coast for a single space in the top 4 of the nations league.

The rehabilitation of the MKO national stadium, in Abuja, will gulp N24 billion in the 2026 budget
About $17m

My educated guess, it's inflated. It's not even as dilapidated as the Lagos one.

A new 60,000 capacity stadium (with running tracks and VAR facilities) will cost no less than N90 billion…
₦90bn is about $63m. That's like a ≤20k football specific stadium bro

A sports complex of National stadium capacity will be upwards of $450m

Yes, as with most Naija govt projects. But I think this one was “only” inflated by $4-$5 million..

Thank you for bringing it up. WAFU nations have such a high pedigree in the history of African football for them to be doormatting everything that comes out the president's mouth.

It depends on factors such as cost of importation of the materials, the cost of their import, cost of labor etc.
The Moroccans spent only $75 million to construct the 69,000 capacity stadium that just hosted the AFCON final. And when you factor in the cost of labor, which wouldn’t be much different than what you have in Naija, it’s entirely feasible to budget between 90 - 110 billion for 60k capacity arena in Naija

I reasoned it would be a $7-9m project for a deep rehabilitation as far as there is no serious remodeling.

For $17m anything less than world class tech should attract EFCC and DSS

The Slavia coach shaa. He gave David Moses only 45 mins and the lad was brilliant. He made 2 changes shifting personnel around bringing in a defender and a midfielder perhaps trying to absorb Barca's transitions and hit back but it has not worked as Barca lead again.

Interesting.

The Ibn Batouta Stadium that Senegal played in mostly in this AFCON was $350m for 75k capacity. Even the stadium for the last Afcon final was in the hundreds of millions.

I guess the figures is for the whole complex not just the pitch and stands

Do you know that Ademola Lookman is the only player from CAF's Official Team of the Tournament at Afcon 2023 that made the Afcon 2025 CAF Official Team of the Tournament?

Back-to-Back TOTT for Ademola. He can make it 3 in a row by 2027 edition. Lol

Also, Nigeria is the only nation in back-to-back TOTT in the last 2 Afcons.

Later person go talk say we Dey celebrate mediocrity especially when an ex player who should know better open his mouth to say nonsense unfortunately most Nigerians don’t understand what track record is. They just believe anything they hear out there.

This is the only team in back to back semifinals on the last two afcons despite the unpleasant circumstances in between the team shows strength and resilience.

I stand with the the chances we still have but my heart is more focused on what our Super Eagles can control... which is further strengthening our team options.
If the ticket chance comes, then it comes, I will welcome it but firstly, with Chelle's current contract expiring in January 2027, we need to focus on securing him for the long term and continue expanding and strengthening the depth of our team talents pool.

Rightly said by Thierry Henry, the problem of the AFCON is that the referees are not up to the standard of the tournament, in short, the referees gave AFCON bad name
Na why i love igwe be dis. I believe wenger taught him well all rounda. Wenger too would have said exact stuff.

The shadow though is the refs are mere puppets to the masters that want a desired outcome no matter how good or bad a team on pitch is.

Next we have nobodies doing ref jobs. They can't register themselves for outstanding and nostalgic officiating in the positive way. See Collina. No african ref has made us forget that man cos Igwe is right. Issa sy that did Algeria match has what it takes to be memorable by going up the ladder. Salema for the women's football too. But it looks like they all just hang and fade off. Nigeria can't even plan to have one at the WC to use to brag at least. Smh

Yes that was the power of CAF president then ,since he was from Cameroon refs usually favour them. The same thing current CAF president is doing now making policies to favour Southern African countries especially with Regional qualification system for under 17 and under 20 . Now the same policies for African league nation cup

Ejute might not make Eric Chelle's team not for footballing reasons.

Samuel Chukwueze was neglected by Eric Chelle not for footballing reasons
In the match against Egypt, Samuel Chukwueze won defensive duels 3x more than the entire midfield combined and made more contributions to defense 3x more than the entire midfield combined. We are talking about a midfield that has a designated DM.

Players with the highest number of chances created in a single match:
Alex lwobi (6 chances) in the match against Tanzania.
Samuel Chukwueze (5 chances) in the match against Uganda.
Ademola Lookman (4 chances) in the match against Tunisia.

These stats reveals Chukuneze's creative role and contributions to defense.
Even if Samuel Chukwueze won't start matches, give one reason why Samuel Chukwueze will not be the first to be subsituted on when changes are considered in the more offensive areas of the pitch.

Tochukwu Nnadi was neglected not for footballing reasons.
In the indices that can be used to qualify a good DM, Tochukwu Nnadi is ahead of Raphael Onyedika.
Both players feature in the Belgian Pro League.
In statistics such as Tackles per 90, Blocks made per 90, Interceptions per 90, Clearances per 90, Nnadi is ahead of Onyedika.

It is very clear that Eric Chelle clearly doesn't know his players and can wrongly drop or feature them.
Going by your comparison of Onyedika and Nnadi then Onuachu should be starting ahead of Osimhen in eagles based on their performance in Turkish league this season....I don tire for una theoretical analysis

Oya tell us why Ejuke should make Chelle team...some of you analysed game as if we watched different game cuz to you Ejuke,Nnadi and Chuckwueze should be starting
