If it’s possible let Nigeria employ that Morocco coach in addition to Chelle cos just like Mali some African countries are just plainly stupid in sacking very high quality coaches.

Nff should call it another role I don’t mind

I don't think it's fake. Even during the tournament, when Morocco were drawing with Mali and struggling to beat Tanzania, I saw many Moroccan comments calling for his head on X.

According to reports, Walid Regragui will not be in charge of the Moroccan national team at the FIFA World Cup, as he is expected to resign from his role as head coach in the coming days.

The 50-year-old is the first African coach to reach the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup. He has a 73% win rate with Morocco, having won 48 matches, drawn 9, and lost 9 in 66 games.
This is even the real stats... Just 5 loses, not 9.

Morocco FA dey mad.

Alot go scatter.

The same Tobias Lawal who failed to play for Nigeria due to the dual nationality palaver during Rohr's time? Austrian laws forbid dual nationality so he choose to stay with Austria.

Same matter wey we dey drag with DRC grin

NEW: Salim Fago Lawal is close to leaving Istra 1961, with talks at an advanced stage and a move to a well-funded Central European club could be potentially completed within days.

Lawal is unlikely to travel to Poljud, with Istra expecting a record sale; exceeding €2M. [Sportske Novosti]

The Moroccan media are piling pressure on Lekjaa and co to sack Walid but time will tell.

I mean even during the Post match presser of the Final, Moroccan Journos asked Walid when he will resign now that he lost the final and he just ignored it by saying, "That's not a question. Next question".

If they lose Walid and employ that Arab Cup winning coach, Tarik Sektioui ehn then they would be transferring a weight of expectations that screams "WC Final or nothing" since Walid reached the semis last time out. It will be too much pressure.

But don't the DR Congo players also meet FIFA's eligibility in terms of country of origin. parent. grandparents link bla bla bla?
This thing is a simple point. It's not about whether they have father, mother or grandparents or ancestors from Congo. Dual citizenship is the issue. Congolese law prohibits it. And then Nigeria alleges that Congo DR used players of dual citizenship and therefore used ineligible players.

Some people argue to say ooh but Congo DR issued them passports. But then just as the soccernittygritty guy analyzed by way of extending such an argument: Take MRI cases for example. Are we saying that just because MRI scan certificates are presented by a country, that suffices? Ought we not to confirm if indeed such players are within the age bracket?

By parity of reasoning, the fact that Congo DR issued them passport is of no moment. The crux of the matter is are these players dual citizens or not. If they are. They are not Congolese citizens and therefore not eligible to play for Congo.

We did not make the rules. They made it.

Acquiring Foreign Citizenship (As an Austrian Citizen):
You must apply for and get written permission to retain your Austrian citizenship before applying for the foreign one; otherwise, you lose it.

Applying for Austrian Citizenship (As a Foreigner):
You must generally renounce your previous citizenship, unless it's impossible or unreasonable for you to do so (e.g., if your home country doesn't allow renunciation)
Exactly, If Nigeria had seriously wanted Lawal they would have worked with him to ensure the process was sorted out

Comprehension is your problem
I'll screenshot fifa rules on eligibility, so you understand better
But let me just explain it in a lay man term:
In fifa rules being from a country is not enough
Having ties to a country is not enough
Holding/submitting a passport to fifa is not enough
The rules state that before submitting a passport to fifa all administrative requirements of that country must have been fulfilled before submitting a passport
FIFA can withdraw clearance from a player to play to play from a country if the passport He submitted to fifa if found fraudulent.

Now to the congolese case:
What is the administrative requirements for one to get a passport?
You must hold one nationality, dual nationality is not allowed, clearly stated in there constitution (administrative requirements)
Holding another passport alongside the Congolese passport, makes you not even a citizen of that country (exceptions to 21 year olds)
You can't waive a constitution or apply it to a few
A constitution is binding, it can only be replaced or amended, and this process usually take time

What's Congolese law have to do with fifa rules now?
The administrative part, congo did not fulfill the administrative part of issuing the passports, to players who are dual nationals (as these Congolese players still hold other passports)
According to fifa that's fraudulent, looks like the passport were given to the players illegally without fulfilling all administrative processes.
FIFA is still binded to a countries law, fifa laws are not above a country laws.

If after all these explanations you don't understand, YOU NEED HELP🙂

na FIFA law you dey quote or Congolese national law?

Modified
I am saying the players in question have a clear biological connection to the DR Congo, so your comment about countries just picking players from other countries and giving them passports does not apply here.

Modified 2
Okay I get your original comment now. But why will that be a problem if the players have strong biological connection to the countries?
Why you dey ask this kind of question naaa. Is there any FIFA law that determines citizenship? No.

But if you field players who within the context of your own law are not eligible, ought that not to be a FIFA issue?

Nothing concerns FIFA with your citizenship law.. But so long as eligibility is tied to citizenship, then if your eligibility as a player does not square with the citizenship law of the country, definitely that becomes a concern for FIFA.

This thing is a simple issue. Nothing complicated about it..
