Re: Mutual Funds by enque(f): 10:43am On Jan 23
I think he is referring to the daily accrued interest, which is not shown in the blunest app.
IamtheDef:
From the app home page, select investment...you'll see the updated rates for everything you need there
Re: Mutual Funds by Dondav(m): 11:06am On Jan 23
Yesterday's rate was about 16.5... but currently at 16.2 .... According to my calculations. It fluctuates between 16.1 to 16.9... I've been keeping tabs on my MMF on Legacy platform.
petomas:
Please I need your help too, I want ro invest in the legacy MMF but lack concrete knowledge about their interest rates and how it’s been paid. Is it daily like Stanbic IBTC MMF and how many percent pls?

oh okay, i think the best that i have seen as regards an accurate record of the daily accrued interest for MMF is the Cowry platform...others are riddled with discrepancies
Re: Mutual Funds by enque(f): 11:19am On Jan 23
It used to be displayed on the old stanbic mmf app, but that app has since been discountinued.

Re: Mutual Funds by Nobody: 2:15pm On Jan 23
Hi,
Pls how can I check out reports on Cowrywise like this?
FRANKLYex:
Yes, I also track cowry despite the fact that they are the most transparent in terms of reporting. I just don't understand why other MMF can not have a transparent reporting platform as cowrywise. Whatever they report is what you get real time.

Please note my cowrywise account level is Bloom. So the returns are for High yield investment
Re: Mutual Funds by Batman2412(m): 2:28pm On Jan 23
Trustbanc mmf via cowrywise
welzyj2:
It depends on your investment. It's not controlled by cowrywise though. It's determined by the fund managers

Check the learn more under the particular investment
Re: Mutual Funds by Nobody: 2:47pm On Jan 23
Are you saying we can lose all our money in cowrywise?
Preator:
Mine was even doubled. Its their usual end of month shenanigans. Everything go reflect well by tomorrow.

My worry is their consistently low rates compared to their peers. It's their large AUM that's making me drag my feet to reducing my change with them. Cowrywise does far better. Just the fear of this tech mmfs

Trustbanc mmf via cowrywise
90 days but you can cash out your funds at anytime. Its just your interest will be penalised. Not sure abt the percentage

Mixology:
Hello all, specifically at Emmasoft, how do we now check our daily rates (interest) at Stanbic mmf? This was one of the major features that made me invest there…
Unfortunately, you can't see your daily accrued interest in the app currently. But you can calculate it yourself using this formula: Investment balance × interest rate (0.1546 currently) = Answer. Then Answer ÷ 364 = Accrued interest.

Hope that helps.
Re: Mutual Funds by Foodempire: 3:27pm On Jan 23
Good afternoon, for those who have withdrawn the total invested funds in money market recently, does the 10% WHT deducted from your money? Or does this only apply to treasurybill investment?
Re: Mutual Funds by Nobody: 3:27pm On Jan 23
Thank you.

Which one do you think I should focus on for wealth building and for long term plan? The word "aggressive", ""moderate" and "conservative" is it referring to longevity or riskiness of the funds? I checked, I realised that conservative(e.g Trustbanc) has highest ROI over Moderate (United Capital Balanced), and
Aggressive (Afrinvest Equity Fund). I know the higher the return, the higher the risk. So this makes the classification more confusing. What does the word "aggressive" means?

I am a newbie, I only invested in cowrywise stocks and a bit of foreign bonds. I want to dive into thier mutual funds because of compounding effect.

10% WHT applies to your interest.

Some managers remove the WHT daily(if you get daily interest) or remove it from the total of interest for the time in consideration.

Na your interest WHT dey affect

The aggressive investments as indicated means those investments are risky. Balanced funds invests a certain percentage of the portfolio in equity while a certain percentage is invested in low risk instruments. The conservative yield is higher at this point because everything reset as the start of the year, eventually towards the end of the year, most of the "aggressive " portfolios would have yielded over 30% and more or negative in some cases.
So yeah, you could lose in the aggressive.

Please is any body here investing in First Ally MMF using MyInvestar? The Interest is 14.22% today....Is that the interest or there is a problem somewhere because that just too low compare to the rest. Dropped from almost 18% to 14.22% in 2 days

Honestly, I feel people should be more concerned about how they'll increase their investment than worry about WHT. It just doesn't make sense to me.

I couldn't care less about what the government deducts as WHT, as long as I'm pumping more money into the system.

The response from mmfadvisor is apt

As a newbie my advise is focus on Mutual money funds for now. You can put a little fund in a balanced fund or fixed income fund just to get a little feel of equity movements

Later on you will know the right time to go into equity mutual funds if your risk appetite can take it.

Overall the advise is always for you to diversify your portfolio

Re: Mutual Funds by Foodempire: 4:38pm On Jan 23
I'm not really bothered about the new WHT as we don't have the power to either reject or protest it. My worries is loosing part of my capital on the past interest earned as it's being done with matured treasurybill investment that was done last year. I've locked up my funds in money market since last year and if they are to tax me on my past interests earned it will be in millions and that will really affect me. I hope fbnquest has deducted the so called tax before adding the interests

Your interest in mmf has suffered WHT before hitting your mmf account

No need to worry.

I have also made peace with my TB yet to mature. I know I will suffer tax but the reason I'm not really pained is b/c I reinvested the interest in mmf at the time last year
