Kano State Governor Abba K Yusuf resigned today along with 21 members of the State Assembly, 8 members of the House of Representatives, and 44 Local Government Chairmen of Kano State. The Governor, through a letter to the Chairman of the Diso-Chiranchi Ward, NNPP, in Gwale Local Government Area, formally announced his intention to leave the party, effective from Friday, January 23, 2026. The latter reads: “I write with a deep sense of gratitude to formally notify the leadership of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) of my decision to resign my membership of the party, with effect from Sunday, 25 January 2026. “I remain sincerely appreciative of the opportunity given to me by the party, its leadership, and members across Kano State to be part of its political journey since 2022, as well as the support, goodwill, and cooperation extended to me during my time in the party. “In recent times, the party has been confronted with persistent internal challenges arising from leadership disagreements and ongoing legal processes, many of which are presently before the courts for judicial determination. “The growing disenfranchisement among party members has created deep divisions within the party structure, resulting in cracks that appear increasingly irreconcilable and have generated uncertainty at both state and national levels. “After careful reflection, and without prejudice to the party’s capacity to resolve its internal challenges, I have come to the conclusion that my resignation is in the best interest of the people of Kano State. “This decision is taken in good faith, without any ill will, and with a continued commitment to peace, unity, and the progress of Kano State.” |

Look at their faces whenever they join APC, it's always full of smiles, like a smile of freedom and victory. The fact that Gov. Yusuf could dump his godfather and in-law says so much about the enigma of the great Jagaban. Tinubu till 2031. |

Team Politicians Vs the masses left the group. Tinubu may be bad in governance but he understands politicking better than others. Sometimes being good is not enough, you must be strategic |

That’s a good development. Any sane politician will definitely join the APC It’s going to be a massive victory for APC considering the political positioning and resource’s they have. |

I still find it surprising that Kwankwaso didn’t accept or acknowledge this plan. But well, in politics there are no permanent friends or enemies. Let’s wait and see how it unfolds. |

The Governor is not secured. He is not assured this time around that the masses have the power 💪 to elect them again (They have to join the ruling squad, for assurance) just like 2019 and 2023. He feels that he needs the federal Government's backing to win the election in 2027. That's why in my humble opinion no politician is worth sacrificing for.... They trust you in the morning 🌞 and feel you are not capable in the evening. |

Lols, the same letter is shared to all of them with few changes ... So this marks the end of NNPP existence as a party ... Modified..... Let it therefore be known that it is the Federal Government that determines the level of Development coming to a State and not the Governor since Governors joining APC is to Widen their economic and development strategies for their State.... Let all the supporters of APC here find it worthy to know that the Masses should not hold their State Governor accountable again but TINUBU......lols 😂😂😂😂 |

When it come to politics in Nigeria, I will give it to Jagaban. This political savvy should be applied to other sectors to boost Nigeria's progress 🇳🇬. |

Next is to replace it with APC flag. Igba kan nlo, igba kan nbo. 27 years ago, we were talking about Alliance for Democracy (AD) and All Nigerian People's Party (APP), where are they today? There was also Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) in Abia founded by OUK in 2006. Where is the party today? NNPP and PDP are the next to fizzle out. Igba kan nlo, igba kan nbo. |

I’m not surprised. The most surprising news is that Atiku’s son joined the APC, that’s incredibly ironic. |

Putindbutt:Enigma of what? Cajoling people into the evil party because of 2nd term. He hasn’t done anything with the first term, he is seeking reelection on what basis? Governors have no idea what they are doing. The north is drooling with these people at the center, and governors will be caught at crossfire. There will be an implosion at the center very soon because of the way the ruling party is being run. Governance is being thrown out the window and the country is being run like a secret cult. |

| Re: The NNPP Flag Has Been Removed From The Kano State Government House. by ArcSEMPECJ(m): 7:04pm On Jan 23 |
Pls let all the Masses hold the Federal Government accountable for the development of their States and not the Governors since the Governors have become puppets dancing to the juicy offers of the new dimension of Politics brought to us by the Agbadorians and directed by Jagaban of Osun State.... |

The next is to drop the red cap. Abba's decamping is arguably the biggest political betrayal in recent time. Their relationship reportedly dates back to four decades ago. Abba was PA to RMK for several years post-1999 and rose to become an influential commissioner of works during the latter's impressive second tenure. 2019 came and RMK pushed Abba as the PDP guber candidate. If not for incumbency factor and magomago of the ruling APC, he would have won. Kwankwasites never lost hope, they reserved their might for the next election. It came to pass, Abba floored Ganduje's camp who wanted to extend the 8 year APC rule in the state. Out of the blues, Abba now has parted ways with his godfather who is said to double as his in-law. I have observed that the die-hard Kwankwasiyya fans are still with Kwankwaso and they appear to be strategising for a comeback in 2027. Kano 2027 politics just got hotter, and the next few months would surely be interesting to watch. |

Let me ask you and I want you to answer with all the honesty you possess : which of the policies and reforms tinubu starred will either atiku or obi stop if they enter office today.? Is it subsidy removal or forex deregulation or electricity tariff deregulation? Pls tell me if you are really sure they will reverse any? |

APC will explode in 2031 after Tinubu regime. I don't see any other person who has capacity like Tinubu to put this big house together. |
