Joebie:
There is nothing wrong with countries relaxing their laws to accomodate sportsmen. That is a national matter. All FIFA wants to know is if you have legit document that proves you are a citizen and is cleared by that country. DR Congo has their minds fixated on the intercontinental play-offs
Oh my. It's like understanding this thing hard you the way maths hard me oo.

De jure is different from de facto

If they are given legal document showing that they are citizens, that is de jure but we will go further and probe whether they are actually citizens in fact (de facto). That is whether according to Congolese laws those guys are citizens. The certificate is just prima facie (on the face of it) evidence.

Let me give you an illustration. Under Nigerian law you acquire land through allocation or acquisition and the certificate of occupancy is proof of ownership of the land. Assuming someone challenges your title to a property and you cannot proof who allocated the land to you or you bought it from, will your tendering of the certificate of occupancy save you? Think about this at the level of common sense cos law is commonsense. Will it save you? It will not!

Bro, I don try for you. If after this you no grab again, na make we await FIFA oo. Ultimately it may favor or not favor us but this is how to understand the issue.

NB. I wrote my responses to you before I saw mekabuachi's illuminating response which corresponds with all I've said.

Do you understand what a constitution is?
Toh. Abi he thinks it's an ordinary piece of paper one can just rigmarole around it's content.

Joebie:
you want FIFA to help Congo DR apply their own laws? FIFA won't do that
Oh jeez your misconception is too loud for me to ignore. Nothing concerns fifa with Congolese laws. Fifa is concerned with eligibility based on citizenship. At that point there's a meeting point between FIFA's laws and Congolese laws. In law, we call it conflict of laws and this plays out mainly in the domain of international law.

Abeg ooo. I have renounced them for their nonsense at the Afcon. Ever since January 14, I don officially commot hand. I will be watching them from a fine distance from now on.
Thing is I know nearly everything about them and their prospects coming through so when I talk about them it may seem like I still fan them. Lol

BankyGee:
I no even really send the Morocco like that, na your team them be 😁

I wan see them comot for World Cup group stage 😂

mekabuachi:
Comprehension is your problem
I'll screenshot fifa rules on eligibility, so you understand better
But let me just explain it in a lay man term:
In fifa rules being from a country is not enough
Having ties to a country is not enough
Holding/submitting a passport to fifa is not enough
The rules state that before submitting a passport to fifa all administrative requirements of that country must have been fulfilled before submitting a passport
FIFA can withdraw clearance from a player to play to play from a country if the passport He submitted to fifa if found fraudulent.

Now to the congolese case:
What is the administrative requirements for one to get a passport?
You must hold one nationality, dual nationality is not allowed, clearly stated in there constitution (administrative requirements)
Holding another passport alongside the Congolese passport, makes you not even a citizen of that country (exceptions to 21 year olds)
You can't waive a constitution or apply it to a few
A constitution is binding, it can only be replaced or amended, and this process usually take time

What's Congolese law have to do with fifa rules now?
The administrative part, congo did not fulfill the administrative part of issuing the passports, to players who are dual nationals (as these Congolese players still hold other passports)
According to fifa that's fraudulent, looks like the passport were given to the players illegally without fulfilling all administrative processes.
FIFA is still binded to a countries law, fifa laws are not above a country laws.

If after all these explanations you don't understand, YOU NEED HELP🙂
Superb response. It's such a simple straightforward thing to grasp. I said it that law is common sense 👏👏👏👏

On a normal day fifa shouldn’t be bothered about national laws but a situation where countries can be shameless to go against their own constitution then fifa needs to protect the integrity of the game if they see it that way sha!
You too sabi. Wetin concern FIFA with your local laws? Eligibility is the issue. At that point FIFA must be concerned.

This is better than the Qarabag rumor. Very decent step up. He will replace Durosinmi there. Brilliant.

😂😂😂 I couldn't help laughing. I want to say that having been on this forum for over ten years with Joebie, I think I know what his challenge is in relation to this issue. It's not a problem of comprehension. It's a problem of belief. Because he does not believe, he finds it hard to understand because if he understands he would believe and you know Joebie is somewhat a pessimist. He tends to be cautious in accepting things.

Baba Joebie, whether we succeed or not, just understand the issue. Understand first. Don't let your unbelief becloud your sense of reasoning. Even clear cut cases are lost in court but a good lawyer should at least understand his clients case.

You no go say ehn, we are not likely to win this case and as a result of that you now confuse yourself creating misconceptions which have no factual basis.

They are not serious. Otilor.

The blame is CAF's. If from the beginning when it was obvious refs were favoring Morocco, CAF had intervened to call them to order, what happened happened at the final would not have happened.

According to Osasu, he said that even from the presser on the eve of the final, one could easily see what happened at the final
