Only Nigeria troops will be shooting 3 kilometers away from their target.

Waste of ammunitions.

Jakumo:
It is not often that a Nigerian soldier is able to capture a firefight involving infantry, tanks and major firepower, so when this video clip arrived in my news feed, I had to share it on the Nairaland forum for the viewing pleasure of my fellow armchair generals in the house. If you listen carefully you will hear the whistle of incoming rounds whipping past the cameraman's head as he bravely records the chaotic firefight.

Sit back, and enjoy the fireworks, but while you see the brave men of the Nigerian army lock horns with a determined and well funded enemy, remember that this is no movie, and that when the smoke clears, a few Nigerian soldiers will have paid the ultimate price, and thus made the ultimate sacrifice for their fatherland.

I can remember very well that Nigerians, long past, have been asking government to get rid of that forest but useless government refused. Now that US coming in what people have been saying come to be.
US please and please, we have been shouting 'divide Nigeria, divide Nigeria' useless government didn't listen to us too; HELP US TO DIVIDE NIGERIA TOO AFTER CLEANING SAMBISA FOR THEM. DO THAT FOR US.

It shall be said of these great guys that they did their best for us to have peace and freedom.

The forest is "not enough" for these terrorists, even if that's where they are presently confined.

This comment brought to mind an old Chinese parable that says "Spectators always claim to see clearly, what participants search for in confusion."

In other words, when one is far from the action, it is all too easy to offer "expert" opinions and criticize those who are actually risking their lives in the heat of battle.

The Sambisa Forest is a MASSIVE area covering about 5,000 square miles, that is far beyond the capacity of bulldozers to clear the trees. Furthermore, aerial bombardment in such a huge geographical area MUST be surgically precise, so as not to waste costly munitions by leveling areas that are not even harboring the enemy.

True Talk, bro but are the Northerners, who brought these Terrorists Bokoham, Kidnappers and Criminals -Across Nigeria ready to Stop hibernating with them, while they also Collect Security Votes -which they hardly used for their Areas, from the Govt Purse/ Budgets.
The Truth is that many of those in the North Are those Accommodating them, sine the OBJ, GEJ Eras, and they Should Find Solutions to them!
Just FACTS AND TRUTH!

What has changed is that US drones are feeding the Nigerian military high command with real time updates as to the precise GPS coordinates where the terrorists are massing. This is why many more air strikes are being recorded as successes. No place to hide for the virgin hunters now that Uncle Sam's eye in the sky is working hand in hand with Nigeria's air force and army.
Can't the same drone drop bombs on the terrorists?

No air back up?

I can't stop crying because i have conscience .These are human beings, fathers to their children's,husbands to their wife's,brothers to their siblings and children to their parents. Who put their life on the line ,to make sure this country is secured yet criminals who called themselves politicians keep on stealing the country resources foe their 10th generations. Yet pie nut is being paid to these soldiers. Some of them may never return alive. Until they citizens of theses country stand as one irrespective of religion and tribe and stand against these criminals. Nothing will ever work. Ask urself this question. What has this Nation done for u as their citizens..

Correct. He is a tank commander, going by his coverall uniform. He dismounted from his war machine to inspire his men at enormous personal risk.

You can see him setting up a belt-fed machine gun on the ground, and then leaving the crew to operate it as he then walked about urging the men forward. The man has clearly been in quite a few firefights in his time. Calm as a cucumber under relentless fire.

Omo. Am seeing full unprofessional display there. No battle formation there. They are supposed to use the tanks there as cover and keep advancing slowly. Not scattered all over the place and shouting like thugs ... Nigeria Army needs full overhaul and training abeg

Nigeria should create a separate specialized elite drone or aerospace force. Dozens of cheap kamikaze drones and fibre optic drone will take out the terrorist with highest precision. It is not like they're hiding in underground Bunker

It is an emotional scene to behold, knowing that each one of those men is fully aware they could be hit and killed at any moment, yet they press forward with the battle even if comrades should scream and fall dead or injured right beside them. This is the life of a soldier at war.

I have seen the video and it proves nothing tangible except that ammunitions are being expended. The soldiers are being commanded to advance toward nothing in particalar within sight. No bulletproof on them shows they just taking silly risk of higher firepower if any terrorist exists on the other side.

Another puzzling issue is, who recorded such a clip if not a deliberately orchestrated leak from NSA to score political points?

We saw someone dismissed from military for same offense just a weak ago. Lol
my take on that too there is no air support to flush those basterds

Massive area, yes. But have we not suffered massively enough lives, properties, businesses and investments to engage in this kind of massive before now?
