A young Nigerian lady has melted hearts on social media after choosing an emotional and symbolic way to celebrate her university convocation — by honouring her late father at his graveside.

Instead of marking the milestone with friends and family alone, the graduate paid a visit to her father’s grave on her convocation day, ensuring that his absence did not erase his place in her success story. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

Sharing photos from the visit online, the lady explained that because her father could not physically attend her graduation ceremony, she decided to take the celebration to him.

She accompanied the post with a popular saying that resonated deeply with many:

“If Mohammed doesn’t go to the mountain, the mountain will go to Mohammed ❤️.”

The gesture struck an emotional chord with social media users, many of whom praised her for remembering her father on such an important day.

The post quickly gained traction across social media platforms, with users flooding the comment section with heartfelt messages, prayers and congratulations.

Reacting to the post, @IbimBoyle wrote:

“Not him thinking he can escape coming to your big day. Congratulations fine girl.”

@iam_milkmoney commented:

“So thoughtful… this triggered a lot of emotions in me. Congratulations 🎈🍾 I’m sure his flatmates must be jealous of him right now.”

@abdraphiu added:

“May Almighty Allah forgive all his shortcomings and grant him Jannah.”

Meanwhile, @Olasunkanmi_Gld wrote:

“Congratulations baby girl. Your dad will be super proud of you for remembering him on your big day. May Almighty Allah grant him eternal rest and give you peace.”

The emotional gesture has been widely described as a powerful reminder that love, gratitude and parental influence transcend death, inspiring many to reflect on the sacrifices of loved ones who may not be physically present to witness life’s biggest achievements.

The best gift a parent can ever give to his/her ward is quality education.

And on the other part,the best way to pay back such gift as a child is to be focused and make your parents proud.

Congratulations to her.. na this type of bannies I dey like to call slay queens angry. And not the scorpion queens parading our societies nowadays with brains that can't draft out a simple formal letter angry

At 81 in 2020, your papa no die young. If still alive, the man would be 87 this year.

Give or take, the lady should be between 25 and 30 years, and if subtracted from the man's age, it means Man gave birth to her in his 50ties.

On of the disadvantage of giving birth late is that, you might not be available to see the success of your kids.
